Hotel Kanaï is located in the center of Lille, in a pedestrian area only 220 yards from the famous Grand Place. All rooms feature flat-screen satellite TV and modern furnishings.

Good location, friendly staff, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, decent breakfast,
Bathroom was tiny. Had to manoevere into the shower. Extractor didn't work. Tea, coffee and kettle wa supplied - but nowhere to plug it in safely. Had to balance kettle on backpack on floor. Not very convenient or safe.
Staff were very friendly and attentive always with a kind greeting and willing to help. The location is fantastic, right in the centre of Lille.
The rate went up for the 3 nights I was there, by the 3rd night it was way overpriced. The room had a musty smell.
Perfect location, close to Tourist Information, bike rental, subway, musea, shops and central market place. Very friendly staff.
Rooms can be noisy. Breakfast nowadays is very expensive in most hotels.
The location was great - minutes from ample public parking, shops, restaurants etc - Lille is a very walkable city. We had a Grand Place view room and the view was wonderful - definitely recommend particularly as other rooms seemed to look into the fire escape etc. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant throughout our stay, helping us in with our luggage, directing us to parking facilities etc. Really enjoyed our stay here.
Be warned that there is some early morning noise from trucks and vans parking up in the Grand Place to offload and deliver goods which (since I'm a light sleeper) was a bit unwelcome. This was a small price to pay for the view however - ask for a room on a high floor if this would bother you greatly though. Somewhat oddly there is a door labelled "Bar" in the hotel but when the bar is open, it could not be accessed from the hotel, rather you had to go outside and enter via a separate door. Think it may have been under separate ownership and whilst not a problem, it was a bit disconcerting to us (and others) as we tried in vain to get in!
Staff a bit stuck up and no concierge service. For a Hotel of this standard there should have been more Parking is a pain
It is such a nice place to stay, a bit from the nineties, but comfortable. Recommending
The A/C was so loud, though we were too tired to call the technical support.
- Cordial staff. - Room & decor. - Historical architecture. - Location.
- Wifi was an ongoing issue. Only place to receive any signal was in main floor lobby.
Breakfast was lovely, really good range and v fresh We were given free upgrades for all 4 rooms, really lovely rooms The location is perfect Good toiletries etc provided so we didn't need to bring much, also liked the dressing gowns
Wifi didn't work in all the rooms Double beds were made of 2 singles next to each other which is not ideal Blankets rather than duvets
The room was very clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel is excellent for meals and sight-seeing. The receptionist recommended a few good restaurants, which we found very helpful, as there are so many to choose from in Lille.
The view from the room was of a fire escape and you need to pay another 50 Euros for a real view. It is a pity that the hotel side on the Grand Place is now a music store, which means there are no public rooms facing the Grand Place.
Rooms overlooking Grand Place
The location could not be better. It is right bang in the middle of town but is not affected by traffic noise and as yet I have not be woken at 5 in the morning by refuse or recycling collections.
Although I must confess to not asking for assistance, the Wi-Fi was not forthcoming.
a bit old fashioned
Great location, lovely ambience, charming comfortable room, terrific breakfast, friendly professional staff.
Great location, nice traditional style, I was happy to stay there and the staff were friendly, professional and helpful.
Poor facilities, slightly worn appearance, poorly designed mix of bathroom/toilet; albeit nice new bathroom. Could so with a little more styling, then it would be fabulous.
Really well placed for exploring the old town. Staff were friendly and efficient and despite claiming to only speak a "little" English, their English was way better than my French. We didn't try the breakfast which was extra.
the view from the room was of the fire escape.
The location is good.
On arrival, the receptionist included a charge for breakfast and city tax for two people although my booking was room only and for one person. I provided my credit card for security only but a €400 charge was immediately applied without my knowledge. I subsequently paid my bill of €363, not realising that the hotel had already taken €400. When I contacted them, I was told that no manager would be available over the weekend, that I would have to provide proof of such an overpayment by contacting them after the weekend. Since the overpayment of over one hundred percent was their fault, I would have expected that they would actually bother to attempt to remedy their action. Instead, they have left me with the responsibility of proving this overpayment and trying to retrieve my money. I am a frequent traveller and have never encountered such an attitude anywhere in the world. The only concern of staff members is to collect as much revenue as possible for the hotel. Pushing a breakfast sale and a second city tax contributed to this mistake in the first place and nobody at the hotel has shown the slightest interest in sorting out the problem. I would have been willing to pay my bill on arrival, but of course, this does not suit an establishment which hopes that you will rack up extras.
Old style, huge room , great atmosphere recommended for a stay in the city
Location fab for shops and restaurants and culture. Wonderful views of grand place ( the main square) from front windows. Lille pavement cafe life is buzzing and fun. Shops were very good- something for everyone in the different areas. Lille itself is very attractive. The office de tourisme is just round the corner from the hotel- we booked a quick bus tour from the office, of the city when we arrived so we could see where we wanted to go on foot. It gave us our bearings for the best shops and areas as well as telling us about the history of rhe town.
In the old part of Lille and on the Grand Place. Within walking distance of both railway stations.
Would be really nice if the entrance was on the Grand Place but it is not a problem.
Spacious ("superior") room. Excellent Bathroom. Large comfortable bed. Plenty to eat at buffet breakfast which at first seemed a little expensive until town centre dining prices became apparent.
Early morning noise from floor above. Wi-fi hit or miss.
Excellent location and we had a room with the Grand Place view which I can highly recommend. Very comfy bed and room very clean. Good to have tea and coffee facilities in the room as well. Staff always helpful and friendly
We didn't have the breakfast as felt it was expensive - lots of places close by offering what you need though
"Grand" fittings and furnishing - lovely period hotel. Exceptional location. We booked a traditional room but were upgraded to a superior room by the hotel at no extra charge.
Nice view of Square. Gentleman at reception was very helpful to give us directions to the hotel at 3:00am. He even went outside to make sure we would find the hotel.
Beds were old and worn. The room looked tired, and a bug was flying around. The hallway floor made a loud noise everytime it was stepped on. The receptionist in the morning was NOT friendly at all. As I walked by the reception, she asked me for my key without a good morning or any kind of greeting and not a smile on her face. She was very rude!
