Grand Hotel Dauphiné  

La verdad que fue una verdadera sorpresa este hotel. Tenía desconfianza de la calidad del hotel porque el precio es muy bajo, pero por suerte todo fue perfecto. La atención muy buena, la habitación limpia, bonita, grande, cómoda, el baño limpio, nuevo, grande. El desayuno muy económico, 9 euros, y muy completo. El parking queda a una cuadra y en el hotel tienen tarifas reducidas. La ubicación es buena, queda cerca del puerto, de los restaurantes, de la avenida principal. A la noche esa zona se vacía por completo, es muy desolado y da una sensación un poco fea, es bastante oscuro. Le recomiendo este hotel a viajeros que viajen con un presupuesto apretado.

Las camas individuales son minimas!!!! En la recepción hay mucho olor a cigarrillos.

Warning: do not book I researched hotels in Toulon well before booking Hotel Dauphine seemed to have very good ratings. Why? Must have been written by local friends or staff because the reality did not match. We booked an upgraded 'plus' room for seven nights. A great disappointment. Very poor facilities. Very overpriced. No safe deposit in room or facility in hotel. Paper cup in bedroom and a teabag each per day (if they remembered to refresh. Hanging space very poor ( a foot wide and four hangers). Air con not working (not hot enough apparently for hotel to switch on!) Lift broken - when on the fourth floor this is important. And a very dangerous internal spiral stair case - very badly lit, if the lights were on at all, to use. Breakfast overpriced at 9e per person. Has it twice but never again - far better at local shops. Breakfast staff surly and very reluctant to refresh breakfast ingredients - everything was too much trouble. And one of the worst issues. Very noisy at night. Although in a pedestrian area - this all changes at night when at 1am plus all the garbage trucks came out into the area, followed by other lorries and vans to stock hotels and shops- five hours of constant horrendous loud noise. And without air con it made the room unbearable to sleep in. Toulon itself was really interesting but book to stay somewhere else

Breakfast: too much expensive. Consider that for a 4 people family 36 euros each morning!!!

It's so convenient to the Town Centre everything within a short walk 7 mins walk to the Train Station

Driving to the hotel and parking was less than easy, but then I guess that's the price you pay for a central location.

Breakfast: making coffe is very complicated. Never enough bread or croissants available, had to keep asking. The fruit was old, no apples at all......

Its position It was cheap. It was clean.

Very basic room. No kettle, no waste basket (Except in bathroom), No pictures on walls, No shampoo or proper soap, only one electrical socket , difficult to reach. Poor breakfast, cheap croissants, very basic dining room. This was not made clear on the internet. Only to be recommended to someone who was trying hard to save money.

The interiors feel like a hostel rather than a 2-3 star hotel.

I like some much the wonderful place of the hotel (near the center of the city) and also there are very clean (every day room service).

The location for bars, restaurants is good and proximity to rail/bus station, Stade Maylol and harbour/port is good. Laetitia and staff (with one exception) were excellent, and very helpful!

There was an issue with bad Wi-Fi reception in my room (408) but this is promised to be resolved. In discussing this matter with one night receptionist (male) he became quite officious. May be I was unlucky and caught him on a bad day?

Friendly and efficient front desk. Large clean room and hotel in excellent location for the old town.

Overall, a good location convenient to several cafe's, the market and the port.

Staff were a bit curt at times and the overall impression of the hotel is it could use an update and freshening up, although it's not bad either - just getting on the borderline. GPS is almost a must to find it, but there are barriers that prevent initial access to the lobby. You have to walk to the lobby and they can have the street barriers lowered. Parking is also an extra 8EU per calendar day.

Reasonably priced and reasonably comfortable. And the member of staff on duty when we arrived could not hvae been more helpful or friendly, advising us on restaurants and other things.

Good staff let down by the member of staff on duty next morning. This is a Logis hotel, and we werte moving on to another Logis. The morning man refused point blank to make a phone call to our next hotel for us, telling us that it was our problem not his. For that reason I would never use this hotel again.

It was a lovely hotel, very clean, very comfortable beds, and a great location - within walking distance of everything in downtown Toulon, including the train and bus station. The people were great.

Maybe just a topsheet instead of the featherbed duvet - the latter was a little too hot.

The room was pleasants, however very noisy as it is located on a main street, where they set up the market at 4 am lots of noice...

Well situated in the old town behind the sea front. Good, clean and efficient hotel. Rooms are minimally decorated, but I would rather pay a few € less that have some fading artwork attached to the wall. Staff were friendly and spoke English with charm and accommodated those of us who tried to speak in French.

I dint dislike anything, but single beds a bit small (narrow).
