The Location in central Paris in the First Arrondisement is excellent. We were less than 100 ms from the Seine and between the Louvre and the Pompidou Centre. The rooms, as are all rooms in Paris, small and over priced, but generally it was good value and the location and staff were very good. Our room was the worst of the group and was really small but we did have a balcony window which meant we could dry some clothes. Also the decor needs a little bit of updating. It is very faded,.

The location was ideal for exploring Paris situated midway between the Louvre and Notre Dame and close to the River Seine. Lovely decor to match the 450 years old. Being 450 years old meant some of the rooms were small and the bathrooms tiny and awkward. Keep in mind that it is an old building.

The staff was very heplfull and kind. Size of the room was ok, everything was clean and the location was absolutely perfect. We would also recommend their breakfast. If you´re looking for a nice hotel in centre of the Paris with reasonable price, this is it! We didn´t like the decor of the room, but we expected something like that from the pictures.

The staff were excellent and the location was good, close to the river and the Louvre . I think the rate you gave us was good ,but if I had to pay full price ,I would not have been happy. I had the impression we had been given a second class room in need of a refurb. The toilet did not work ,and the room was scruffy.I Suspected it was due to the rate we paid, but, after I mentioned the problems, we were given a new room which was fine.

The hotel was nicely decorated in old world fabrics and antiques and a tiny winding staircase. Our quad room was large by European standards and had separate twin beds for my teenage children. Our room also had a large bathroom with a shower and a tub with shower also and two sinks with good counterspace. Not any easy find in Paris! The location was great with Chatelet metro around the corner, many restaurants nearby, walking distance to Notre Dame, Louvre, Musee d'Orsay and only a block from the Seine. As in other reviews, the elevator is small and often breaks down. They were working on it when we arrived so we chose to walk the small winding staircase with our bags, thank God they were carry-ons! The rest of our stay the elevator worked and could barely fit our family without bags, no more than two people with bags. No washcloths provided, only towels, which is common in Europe. Coffee and tea in room but no creamer.

Staff was very nice and informative; decor of hotel was exactly what I wanted-- to feel like I was in paris; bakery just down the street and small supermarket just around the corner for other things right next to the metro entrance for chatelet station; my cousins and I walked around the neighborhood at night to see the seine lights and felt safe. Little storage in room but to be expected in a classic inner city hotel

We were three generations, mother, daughter and grand-daughter, so we were glad to stay in one room. The bathroom was clean and large. The location was good - close to the Metro and the Louvre. The desk people were fine - they spoke English well enough to help us get to the train and the Louvre. The room had an odd smell. The soap porvided was like Lava soap, very harsh. The bidet was odd; not a spray but like a little bath tub. The measure says 35 square meters, but it is broken up into a bathroom, toilet room, and triple-bed room, plus a closet and hall to the bathroom - so space to move around or put our things was tight. The windows opened onto a shaft - both sides. The air conditioner was totally broken, and one of the electrical outlets fried my daughter's computer charger and the desk guy basically blew us off. The elevator was tiny and tight so we had to make two trips to the room.

Location is excellent. The doublr room that we booked was effectively a closet. Upon complaint, we received a much larger room for the night pending a review in the morning. The larger room was very expensive and very poorly appointed and the shower was useless (water went everywhere). The next morning, we received a mid sized room at the booked rate and we were looked after very well by the Manager thereafter. So, it ended well. Staff need to be complimented and do well despite the Hotel's inadequacies. Rooms are small with limited facilities. Expensive for what is offered compared with other partys of the world. The lift was ineffective. Small and broke down twice when we were there with someone locked in there both times. Staircase is a nightmare. Location is good but in a back street where homeless people frequent and often leave deposits in the gutter.
