Poor value for money Old Hotel not renovated Small and really basic room Too expensive for the quality offered
The staff were helpful The location was excellent
The bed, the mattress was lumpy and hard
The location is hard to beat
wi-fi was not working
Close to centre of Paris. Good for Louvre, Notre Dame etc.
Room tiny. OK for one night. Shower room very small. No bath as requested. No balcony as booked. And looking onto tiny inner courtyard made room very dark and stuffy. Room needed redecorating.
The location of the hotel was perfect for us and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly
Clean with great location
Room was very small for two friends to share. Room decor very chincey not at all appealing. Small street it was located on was hang out for street people and drunks often causing disturbances, did not feel safe.
Staff attitude, room setup was appalling for what was considered a "superior" room. Generally just an unwelcoming stay.
For a quick stopover in Paris The Grand Hotel Dechampaigne was perfect. The location was amazing, within walking distance of all the major attractions and moments away from Chatelet station for the airport. The staff we're friendly and helpful, the rooms small but traditional Parisian, beds were comfortable and breakfast was really good.
Paid for a 'Garden Room' but there wasn't really a garden, just a window looking onto a tiny courtyard with plastic plants.
Dirty street, homeless people outside.
Great location - one block off the Seine River between Notre Dame and the Louvre in District One. You can walk everywhere. Charming, quaint hotel.
Great Location Lovely staff Good basic breakfast Recommend space in room 504 with nice balcony Great value for such a superb location
Fantastic location, Great shower, Excellent staff
Only small negative would be more English Entertainment channels instead of just news.
Nice decoration. Convenient subway stop nearby, can walk from the underground station to rer train also.
No refrigerator. Affordable with good online discount.
The room style.
Had to check in 7hrs late due to a burst water pipe. Breakfast was a complete ripoff. Could not sleep all week due to too much noise and then couldn't sleep in the morning due to building work noises outside. You could hear drilling from 7am in the morning which felt like they were coming from the room above. Even charged us extra on our bill without telling us before hand. Our holiday felt like a complete chore. We didn't enjoy our holiday due to lack of sleep. We were completely exhausted. We should of been compensated for our poor stay. Very upset and disappointed.
Clean; conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to bus and subway. Plenty of cafes and patisseries nearby. Quiet. Comfortable, cozy room. Excellent continental breakfast (extra charge) Good value at the time we stayed (August is a slow month in Paris.)
Hotel is very clean and well-maintained, but is adjacent to a "seedy" area. We saw one fellow peeing in public. There might be a homeless shelter on the same block. Not comfortable being out after dark in the immediate area, especially given all the warnings about pickpockets in Paris. Extra charge for breakfast (thought the European custom was to include this in the room charge.) Internet slow and requires signing up every time you access it.
Everything was wonderful. From location to staff to cleanliness.
I didn't realize the rooms on 5 th floor have structure beams floor to ceiling that cut across the room which makes it hard to move around without hitting your head.
Very cosy place, that's well located....
That they don't have a standard restaurant. ..
The location is great. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the staff are very helpful.
The fact that we always have a fresh towels everyday, and the complementary tea and coffee facilities in our room, and also the location is great.
Most of the receptionist seems unwelcoming and unfriendly, they need to smile when they have to greet their customers.
- excellent location between Notre Dame and Louvre - friendly front desk, boarding pass printed without problems - clean blankets, comfortable bed - metro Chatelet - Sortie 1 - only 60m around the corner from hotel - minisupermarket 40m on Rue Bertin Poire street (not selling baguettes :-)) - store with baguettes on crossroad Rue Jean Lantier and Rue Edouard Colonne - a lot of restaurants behind Rue de Rivoli
- got the smallest room on the floor for the first night (maybe 2,5x3m + mini bathroom.. max. 9-10m2 in total) with view into another 2 windows maybe 2m distance => noisy at night. Even if in booking.com there are much more nice pictures of rooms and information about 12m2. It was room #401 - definitelly not a value for money. For the second night we got another little bit bigger room with about 3-4times bigger bathroom and view on the street. It was much better - for tall persons the bet might be a bit short even if its comfortable - when making a reservation the furniture and hotel looks like "Paris old style" with atmosphere :-) The truth is that it is simply old and for standard rooms the pictures on this site are cause a bit overexpectations. I can imagine that the suites rooms are better. - wifi speed was ok but it was neccessary to fill the form on the access page always when connecting
Breakfast was excellent and all staff were very friendly.
Deco of the room was not really brilliant, although it was acceptable.
the triple bedroom for the children was terrific
All except downloading internet every time after leaving hotel. The rest is excellent, so already reccommended this hotel to my friends. Thank you very much for your hospitality. Evgeny, Canada
