Grand Hôtel Des Templiers    

Location was great near to some excellent restaurants. The pool was a great bonus. The staff were very helpful and a good breakfast. It was great value.

Nothing it was the actual town of Reims we thought had gone down the pan. We first visited in 1999 and thought it was a lovely place now a little run down.

We truly recommend this hotel. The location is perfect, just a couple blocks from the center of things made it quiet, but easily accessible. Very accommodating staff.

Location, excellent friendly service. Beautiful furnishings. Lovely old building, antiques. Crystal glassware and short walk to good restaurants and city centre.

Fantastic location. 10 minutes walk to the city centre. Private car parking on site...no extra charge. Beautifully clean. Very friendly, helpful staff...English speaking. Absolutely quiet at night.

Design needs updating, faded grandeur.

Well situated, clean and comfortable. Nice small pool, sauna and hammam.

Very friendly and helpful staff, ancient atmosphere of building. Big enough room space as for French hotel. Natural food for breakfast. Free of charge own parking!

This hotel needs to spend some money on refurbishment. It looks run down for a 4* hotel. An Ibis Hotel room would have been better, although the bathroom here was good, if a bit 1980s. Although the reception area looks fine the rest of the place seems a bit tired. The swimming pool is fine but in need of some work on the tiles etc.

Traditional style and parking

Room safe not large enough to take IPad. WiFi advertised as being available in rooms. Not in our room, only in public areas! No bars, bistros or restaurants in immediate area, Place du Forum closest with decent choices. Perhaps this is why they can charge so much for what seems an ordinary breakfast..

The staff very friendly. Parking available. Interesting old hotel. Room comfortable and clean. Rooms very spacious. Internet connection easy to get on.

Bathroom updated but Shower head was handheld. Rug in room seemed very old and stuffy. Feels like it should be replaced.

The bed was quite uncomfortable.

We had the best continental breakfast we have ever had. Everything was freshly made including the yogurt.

Would be better if the car park entrance was signposted clearly.

the climate of the former Templar hotel

it is definitely due to the old city organization, but narrow streets, lack of parking place doesn't help a traveler who uses his own car. it really makes you worry about your car not being scratched or anything!

Met at the entrance by one of the hotel staff who took my bags and my car keys. Bags went to our room and the car was parked. This hotel was a wine merchants house, it has a different entrance off the the street that was for horse drawn carrige, its good. The room which was standard was above average and we have slept in worse 5*. The hotel is well place for a champagne visit with the Mumm celler a 10 min walk. The city centre is a 15 min walk away so the hotel is quite.

The cost of breakfast we thought was high at 15 to 25 euro each.

The hotel was only a short 10 minute walk from the train depot (but mind the cobblestone streets, hard on luggage wheels and ankles). :) Staff was very friendly and helped us book activities/learn about the history of Reims.

Comfortable hotel with character. Free secure parking. All room facilities that we wanted - minibar, safe, TV, Phone. Friendly and helpful staff. Ground floor rooms secure due to raised level of hotel's ground floor. We had good quality bathroom with both bath and walk in shower. Heated indoor pool.

Not as close to town centre as we would have liked. Breakfast rather pricey. Room key old fashioned key with attachment. Cannot lock room if one occupier outside room - eg using pool, and one left inside resting. Prefer modern swipe card system.

Lovely old fashioned hotel not too far out of Reims. Very good room, nice to have a fridge and air conditioning. Didn't get time to use the pool. House of Mumm a few minutes walk away.

Breakfast and drinks expensive but I guess that's to be expected at this type of hotel.
