Staff very affable and helpful, comfortable bed-room

Radiators old and valves not working to regulate the temperature in order to dry the wet skiing clothes. No shower curtain in the bathroom so when you have a shower all the water bouncing of your body ends up on the floor and you have to mop the floor with the towels!! As there is no drain in the floor.

Extremely welcoming and helpful staff. They even sourced a ice pack for my injured thumb. They also provided us with changing facilities after we had checked out which allowed us to fit in an extra four hours of skiing before heading back to Geneva to catch our flight home. The restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent (guests enjoy a welcome 10% discount on food and wine!) and breakfast was superb. it reminded us all just how good the French are with food and wine. There is plenty of free parking nearby and you can load/unload in a bay next to the entrance to the hotel without too much difficulty. Again, the staff were very helpful.

Room 1 was a spacious family room but the bathroom could do with an update. Having said that, the shower and the heating system worked perfectly well. So, only a very minor criticism.

Comfortable bed and room, nice size and views. Staff were very accommodating with a quick and usually positive response to all requests. Would definitely stay again if issues (see below) were taken care of and might even if they were not.

The only issues were: floors creaked (someone needs to go through the building with a drill and screws); walls are a little thin, but most of that issue would be taken care of by eliminating the squeaky floors; and there was not shower curtain in the bath (everything would get wet from taking a shower - the front desk was surprised there was no shower curtain when we mentioned it at check-out, but isn't a missing one pretty obvious?).

Very warm welcome - Great friendly and helpful staff!! Great location - either short walk or drive to the ski slopes depending on where you choose to ski. Also very close to a handful of bars/restaurants Very peaceful - not a noisy hotel (despite being on the main road through Argentiere) Spacious rooms. Easy to park

Slight slight challenge with the water being alot hotter in the morning than in the evening when I so wanted a hot bath after a day on the slopes.

We have stayed at the Couronne on and off since 1985. Each time we come it has undergone a transformation. Now it is really very nice, friendly, informal, cosy and with character. Room 28 is especially nice. The breakfast is excellent and the bar and attached restaurant very convenient and friendly. We will return.

Our only complaint is that the toilet in room 28 is freezing cold, really very very cold. The bathroom itself is as a result also a little cool. It would be nice to have a small heater in both rooms, maybe just a heated towel rail would do

Cleaning staff wanted to get in to clean the room at 9 each morning.

We were very wet from hiking but greeted in a friendly manner and the drying room explained without making us feel guilty. The room was very comfortable - more than our expectations. The adjoining restaurant provides good food at a reasonable price and you get 10% discount. Breakfast was particularly good and well worth the extra charge.

I would prefer the Wifi charge to be incorporated in the cost of the room and I prefer duvets to blankets - but these are both minor comments.

A very simple hotel, quite clean, with small, well-appointed rooms. The desk staff spoke excellent English and were quite helpful, and the restaurant was excellent.

The staff was great and very helpful. Breakfast was very good.

Warm reception, comfortable room with balcony and great view, full bathroom including bathtub (important after strenuous hiking), excellent value.

I would prefer if breakfast were available at 7:00 a.m. rather than 7:30, to allow an earlier start for activities.

Brilliant location in the beautiful town of Argentiere. Hotel has lots of character. Rooms were quiet and comfortable. The adjoining restaurant offers discounts to hotel guests, although we did not eat there.

Wifi Internet costs 2 euros a day.

The staff was excellent with a great location on the main street of Argentiere clost to the train and bus stations. Walk to the Grand Montet was about 12 minutes.

We wanted a reasonably priced hotel close to the excellent skiing area of Les Grand Montets in Aregentiere with a family room that would comfortably accommodate a family of 4. La Couronne is a traditional hotel with a lovely old-fashioned feel to it. Our family room (No. 1) was a decent size - 2 single beds pushed together with a quite large annexe containing bunks for the children. The bathroom is a little awkward in its layout ( a bidet placed next to the bath means you have to climb in over the end of the bath - we could happily have done without the bidet!), but nothing that inconvenienced us too greatly. There was always plenty of hot water, the beds were reasonably comfortable, although the mattresses could benefit from being updated (the bunks were more comfortable). It was nice to be able to open the window to allow in some fresh air, although this did mean there was traffic noise early in the morning. There is a small balcony beyond the annexe with room for 2 chairs - we had poor weather, so didn't really make use of this, but it really is just for sitting out rather than eating. There was a fridge (extremely useful) and a table so it would be possible to buy food and eat in the room, should you choose not to go out in the evening to eat. We had breakfast each morning for 9 euros each and we thought this was reasonable value. It is an eat as much as you like breakfast buffet with ham, cheese, cereals, eggs, breads, fresh fruit, excellent pastries and cakes. There seemd to be adequate seating and on one morning when there were no tables left, one of the staff instantly made up a table for us in the salon next door to the dining room. The salon is a nice place to sit in the evenings, to have a drink, read, or play one of the many board or card games that are on offer. The staff were very helpful and friendly and all spoke excellent English. If you are skiing, there is a bit of a walk (about 15mins) to the Grands Montets lift.

Great big room, great location

It was really noisy all night. There are two bars across the road which played loud music and it was like having a party outside until 3am. I did not get any sleep!

Camera pulita, buon prezzo. Tutto bene per trascorrere una notte di passaggio.

Camera datata e un po' triste. Non credo che potrei trascorrerci una settimana.....Il parcheggio dell'albergo e' molto limitato quindi anche se i parcheggi nel paese sono gratuiti dappertutto, se avete delle cose in auto e non volete parcheggiare lontano, e' un po' un problema.
