Best Western Hotel De La Place  

It is value for money, situated on the town square, a good base for seeing Normandie.

Good location, nice room, friendly staff

Unfriendly receptionist No assistance with where to park. Ghastly tired old dated room, No tea or coffee making facilities. Basic as they come. Broken plug hole, rust and mould around bath, broken shaving mirror hanging and finally tube fell out of hairdryer so useless. Shabby throughout.

We like the consistancy of the Best Western chain of Hotels. This one was great price and location.

Nothing. The lift was small.

Good location near main train station. Very quiet which after several weeks in europe was very welcome. Excellent continental breakfast. Nothing wrong with the hotel at all. The streets are very dirty in this area with quite a few street people, but we felt quite safe. Very good location if you need to catch the eurostar. I would stay at the hotel again but not in that area.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a lot of choice for breakfast and it was very enjoyable. I liked the sunny aspect of the breakfast room. The decor was old-fashioned and quite cosy.

It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in our room. Also on Wednesday evenings the cafes and bars in town are closed, so there was nowhere to go for a drink after dinner time. So a lounge- bar in the hotel would have been ideal.

Excellent location opposite Cathedral with parking on their car park.Well placed for walking this small city. Shops and eateries nearby, also Tourist info and post Office. Was very interested in Saint Therese's life there and didn't have time to visit all the sites connected with her, so will definately need to return to Lisieux in the future and would stay with Best Western again.

There was nothing we didn't like about the hotel.We were concerned that our bathroom, which had a shower in the bath had no shower curtain or screen and that water sprayed out onto the tiled floor, which could have caused someone to slip on the wet floor.In England health & safety would have picked up on that. Also felt the toilet tissue box could have been better located either on end of tiled bath wall facing wash basin or on right side wall.

The room we were given was more like a suite. Very large bedroom, with a large bathroom. Excellent breakfast selection. Secure parking for our motorcycles....at a cost though.

The staff, though small, was very accommodating. The room was clean, comfortable and larege (for France) and very quiet. The breakfast was well worth the extra charge. It included a variety of breads, cheeses, yogurts and very good coffee. We really enjoyed our stay!

Like other hotels in France, there were no screens on the windows. A few flies got in but we were able to handle them.

The lady at the reception was very helpfull and very cooperative.

The bathroom look old and need to be updated for the standard of the hotel. As a frequent traveller, I have seen far better for a 3star hotel. Also, I was surprised and terrified to see other customers bring dogs to their breakfast table. A dog that started sniffing everyone else around the room.

Notre chambre (n°40) ne justifie pas la classification 3 étoiles: Moquette à changer, pas de pare douche et literie très moyenne.

L'hotel est situé en centre ville donc parfois un peu trop de bruit; Les chambres ne sont pas assez insonorisées. J'avais au depart la 10 mitoyenne a la 11 j'ai du changer car mes voisins étaient très très bruyants !! Demandez les 30 31 32... Sinon les chambres sont très classiques, vieillotes mais très propres. Patronne très sympa et à l'écoute . Petit dej 10 euros, moyen mais pour 10 euros on va pas trop en demander... Pas de parking fermé mais de la place en face...
