Best Western Hotel De La Place  

Dinner and all food vey poor;;;; Dinner no potatoes. Poor quality Food

Good location, nice room, friendly staff

The location and the WiFi were the best things about this hotel. We arrived early and were allowed to check in which was great. Tea & coffee in the room would've been a godsend but the small bottle of water was welcome. The lady at the desk was as helpful as she could be with limited English. English speaking TV channels we're good too.

The hotel interior desperately needs updating. Having the bath/toilet & sink in separate rooms is inconvenient. Impossible to have a shower in the bath. Floor was dangerous when wet. Toilet roll dispenser was blocking sitting on the toilet, given how much wall space there was in the bathroom it could've been put in a better spot. Very noisy inside hotel but quiet outside.

Good location near main train station. Very quiet which after several weeks in europe was very welcome. Excellent continental breakfast. Nothing wrong with the hotel at all. The streets are very dirty in this area with quite a few street people, but we felt quite safe. Very good location if you need to catch the eurostar. I would stay at the hotel again but not in that area.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a lot of choice for breakfast and it was very enjoyable. I liked the sunny aspect of the breakfast room. The decor was old-fashioned and quite cosy.

It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in our room. Also on Wednesday evenings the cafes and bars in town are closed, so there was nowhere to go for a drink after dinner time. So a lounge- bar in the hotel would have been ideal.

Excellent location opposite Cathedral with parking on their car park.Well placed for walking this small city. Shops and eateries nearby, also Tourist info and post Office. Was very interested in Saint Therese's life there and didn't have time to visit all the sites connected with her, so will definately need to return to Lisieux in the future and would stay with Best Western again.

There was nothing we didn't like about the hotel.We were concerned that our bathroom, which had a shower in the bath had no shower curtain or screen and that water sprayed out onto the tiled floor, which could have caused someone to slip on the wet floor.In England health & safety would have picked up on that. Also felt the toilet tissue box could have been better located either on end of tiled bath wall facing wash basin or on right side wall.

The staff, though small, was very accommodating. The room was clean, comfortable and larege (for France) and very quiet. The breakfast was well worth the extra charge. It included a variety of breads, cheeses, yogurts and very good coffee. We really enjoyed our stay!

Like other hotels in France, there were no screens on the windows. A few flies got in but we were able to handle them.

City centre of Lisieux, parking over the road. Big rooms, clean with big bathrooms.Everything worked and reception was very together and friendly. Very good value.

L'accueil et la situation géographique

Hôtel propre mais extrêmement vieillot et nous avions 3 chambres toutes aussi mal insonorisées. Flacon de gel douche vide dans l'une d'elles. En dépit d'une catégorie 3 étoiles, absence de salon au RDC et de mini bar dans les chambres. La chambre qualifiée de triple lors de la réservation permettait tout juste de coincer un lit bébé entre le lit de deux personnes et le radiateur sous la fenêtre et ressemblait furieusement à une chambre double, puisqu'aucun lit supplémentaire d'une personne n'aurait pu y être installé. La facture établie lors du départ ne comportait ni les taxes ni les quatre petits déjeuners et ne correspondait donc pas au montant payé

La gentillesse de l accueil

La gérante était désagréable , il fallait sonner pendant une bonne dizaine de minutes avant qu'elle vienne à l’accueil c'est une honte . La chambre n'a pas était refaite le 2ème jour alors que cela avait été demander
