-Location - staff
- lift only holds one person (difficult if you are in the 5th floor with a child) - door knob loose, shower head not working, refrigerator not cold, cupboard door loose - excessive price for overall quality and considering breakfast costs extra
It is near to Eiffel tower and metro station (Ecole Militaire).
Lift is very small and wifi connection is very weak.
clean, great location
tiny lift, poor wifi, weird food & drink policy
Very close to the Eiffle and Employees were very polite.
Wifi was very weak and could only get a good signal in the lobby
Small rooms-typical of Parisian hotels though, no real hotel facilities
noisy in the morning, can hear everything, even walking on the stairs.
Great location, good beds, room size enough for short stays.
Wifi does not work good!
LOCATION WAS GR8!... VERY GD STAFF,LOVELY GREETING,EVERY SHOP YOU COULD NEED PLUS RESTUARANTS.
SMALLEST LIFT EVER & SIX FLOORS!!!
The location of the hotel is perfect! It takes just few minutes to the Eiffel tower. The metro station is next to the hotel. The staff was very nice and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked even the elevator, it was very funny:)) I really enjoyed my time.
The location - great for the Tower, the Metro and for some reasonably priced eateries (for Paris!) Highly recommended and would use again.
Rooms could be better sound-proofed but are typical of an older style property with character.
Location and staff
A/C was not operating and temperatures were high for Paris
Clean rooms and bathrooms. Friendly helpful staff.
Cramped hallways and one person elevator.
Service and location
The location is great. Right around the corner to the Eiffel tower and the metro. Couple of great restaurants there too. The staff were nice, well mannered and very helpful. Bit of a shame that the rooms themselves were a let down.
The room was cramped, dark, not very clean. Didn't get cleaned the next day either. It was noisy, you could hear people walking around upstairs and in the corridor. A rather annoying buzz kicked in every few minutes and wasn't very conducive for sleeping. We asked for an iron but none was available. For the price paid, we really expected better than a budget hotel. You're better off going for something cheaper instead. You're not likely to miss out on anything this hotel has to offer.
Owner is wonderfully knowledgeable and provides the best recommendations and accommodations for a Paris visit. Rooms have recently been upgraded and the decor is very beautiful and tasteful.Best breakfast for those who love croissants and french bread. Location is as good as it gets.Reasonable rates
The owner is a friendly person, its close proximity to all the major landmarks of Paris and clean environment
One person at a time in the lift
Location is biggest plus - room was mostly average otherwise
Shower was terrible - if you didn't have the head just right it would dribble in a stream - no pressure at all WiFi was very weak on 5th floor Eiffel Tower view - if you step onto the 1 foot balcony and crane your neck to the right - certainly not from the window
We loved the location. Was a very short walk to the Champs de Mars and this was fantastic with a 3 year old in tow as there were play areas to entertain him. It was also a very short walk to the Rue Cler which was fantastic for eating on. There were also several mini markets near by which was great for topping up on water and snacks. The staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful and in general the hotel was well decorated in an Art Deco theme. Our triple room was very large for Paris and our bathroom was a good size too. We also had a lovely view of the Eiffel Tower.
We weren't so happy with the fact there were bare wires coming out of the centre of the ceiling where a light should have been. Also our bathroom door handles central fixing was too long for the thickness of door meaning it slid back and forwards. Also there was no lock on the bathroom door, just a hole where the lock should be which someone had stuffed with toilet roll! The lock on our room door also moved and had to be pulled into the correct position to get it to lock. There were a couple of piles of pictures and mirrors in the stair well so maybe they were doing some refurbishing work. As we were there on very hot days in July it was wonderful to see an air conditioning unit in the room but unfortunately it was very noisy and roughly every 15minutes it made a very loud noise. This stopped us sleeping. We then had the choice of putting up with the noise from the air conditioning unit or from street where some very noisy motorbikes liked to rev at the lights or to boil in bed!
Excellent location, friendly and efficient day staff.Good 10 euro breakfast.
No coffee making facility,no eating in room,1 person scary lift, very poor night staff. Really old building, past its use by date.
Nice location and friendly hotel staff
Lift is too small
Spent 6 nights. Loved it's proximity to the subway and the Eiffel Tower. Many good restaurants close by.
The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was convenient and of great value for 10 euros.
When we booked this hotel, we were looking for something comfortable, clean, conveniently located, and reasonably priced. Based on these criteria, the Eber Mars scored well. The metro is two minutes from the hotel. Grocery store and laundromat are nearby and there are plenty of restaurants in the area. If you are looking for a four or five star type hotel, the Eber Mars is not for you, but if you are looking for comfort and value, this is a good option
The wifi worked ok in the lobby, and sometimes in the room, but it seemed to have trouble handling all of the users at peak times.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. They truly wanted us to have a good time there. Rooms very nicely appointed and spotlessly clean. The nicest hotel I have been to in Paris. Close to Eiffel tower and metro.
Internet was not strong signal. Did not allow food and drink in rooms, just in lobby area - but that is probably why the rooms are so clean.
Personal attention by the hotel.Good guidance was given whenever requested for.The hotel is weel maintained and located hardly about 1 km from Eiffel Tower. The metro(8) stn ecole militaire is only five minutes walking distance. The room size was good enough to accomdate two children also. The breakfast@10euro was limited but very satisfying and fulfilling.
The lift was old and small and could carry only one pax. But hotel informed that they are giving new lift soon but it would still carry only one person due to space constraints. THE WIFI TOO WAS GIVING TOUBLES BUT HOTEL MANAGEMENT MOSTLY FIXED IT.
