The decor and the friendliness of the staff. The water bottles in the room. The excellent breakfast. The name of the hotel was wrong on the web site. Please make sure it is changed. It was called the Hotel Marquis de la Baume. It should be New Hotel de la Baume. We hunted for the hotel for hours.

The lobby and reception was dark and dingy. The room was very small and the bathroom was not 4 star. The location, while near 'la Coupole' was on a narrow street and was difficult to find even with a navigation system. The next day, we found another hotel, La Concorde, for the same price and a better location for Nimes sight seeing. That hotel was fabulous in every respect.

No parking, need to use public car park. Toilet did not have washbasin. Had to walk around the bed to go from the bathroom to toilet. Bathroom and toilet poor quality, fittings and fixtures hardly 4 star. Hotel is barely 3 star

Location was excellent and the ancient interior stone stairs and vaulted ceiling were magnificent. The central heating was broken throughout the hotel (mid November). Complaints about this were met with a shrug. The decoration in the bedroom needs updating.

Large comfortable room, lot of features, not fancy but still attractive and mostly quiet. The inner stair well and courtyard are classic design and very interesting, and gave this hotel a feeling that was very connected to the ancient history of Nimes. Very attractive hotel front also, would make you curious to see it if you walked by. Really great location in the older part of the city, close to many great streets, sites, restaurants, and not far from the train station either. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Did not use the breakfast offered there but it seemed nice, very pretty dining area and lobby. Minor quibbles with bathroom design and function - but most European hotels have same issues. A barely usable teensy weensy foot-pedal trash can seems to be in all Euro hotel rooms these days and is ridiculous, but again, a minor annoyance. Toilet flush takes some effort. Room hvac might have been better, but had little need for it this time. Mattress not so great for more than a couple nights. And very dim lighting overall - again, a common mistake in hotels. Guests should be able to see things without straining a bit because of poorly placed lighting fixtures, lamps...Finally, there was no wifi in the room, only in the lobby, a bit inconvenient at times.

Looked like it had some charm and a good location. Large room which was well isolated from street noise if the windows were shut. Room was hot and needed aircon. No kettle for tea and coffee. Horrible pillows. Used sex toys left under bed... And dodgy street life to navigate once outside.

Wonderful centuries old building with modernized rooms. Refer great to chill wine. Staff was friendly and very helpful with restaurant suggestions. Had a fantastic meal in South African/French restaurant. around the corner. Parking garage several blocks away, not expensive.

Stunning courtyard & staircase, well appointed rooms. The bath/shower arrangement, don't like sitting in the bath to shower. The location, not a great street but only a street away from a nicer area. Breakfast and in room tea/coffee should be inclusive of rack rate, not additional.

The Hotel Marquis de la Baume had water problems and settled us in an alternate hotel Le Chavel Blanc - it was a bit of a walk away but an exceptional hotel with conversant English - extremely quiet and comfortable. Located across the Collesium - it was close to many sites as well as parking with 50 meters. We were delighted with how the Hotel Marquis de la Baume arranged an alternate location to stay. It was inconvenient to learn they did not have a room for us and it was hard to find with construction in Nimes. The desk staff did not speak english which would have been nice when we were redirected.

Beautiful interior to the building. Excellent staff Cramped room. Disgustingly filthy A/C unit, totally unusable safely!!! Hotel is site on a street that well known for it's high crime rate. We were warned by night porter not to have any valuables on show! Internet access very poor even after paying for direct access. No kettle in room despite websites advertising such. There was a Nespresso machine for which there was a charge of €3 for an expresso only
