The staff could not have been more helpful before our arrival. Off the ferry into secure parking by 9.00 am, booked in and luggage stored we were free to enjoy St. Malo all day without worrying about our bikes on the back of the car! Excellent service and food with very helpful and informative Maitre d. Stunning views from bedroom and restaurant . Easy walking distance into St. Malo. Small but enjoyable ( due to currents and geysers) swimming pool and spa.We highly recommend Le Nouveau Monde and will return.
A most comfortable and good sized bed. Well located on the sea front and a 10 minute walk along the promenade to the old walled town. Bathroom well appointed with excellent shower.
We had hoped to enjoy a coffee and liqueur when returning from being out for dinner, unfortunately we were disappointed as the hotel bar shut at 11pm. The in-room refreshments were sparse with limited tea bags and only one small milk pod each per day!
Location Staff Rooms
We enjoyed the room with it's corner window and front balcony. The restaurant was definitley 5 star. We enjoyed the bar area with it's comfortble seating and of course, the view! A wonderful choice!
cost of dinner not value for money
Very friendly staff, rooms were in an excellent condition, location was close to "old town center"
Excellent location close to beach and old town. Excellent restaurant with a seaview.
A bit expensive.
Location, facilities, cleanliness, friendly French staff, fantastic food.
Staff were not the most helpful.
Really really amazing. We can even rent bicycles there with 12 a day. The room is big and clean. Really comfortable living there. 值得一订。
Celebrated birthday, personal made all our wishes-reserved table in magnificent restaurant, there was a bouquet(flower) in the room, ordered hairdresser and makeuper(they came in time), good design in hotel, perfect restaurant (in hotel too)
Comfort of room, position relative to town, pleasant lady with excellent english at check in.
They put some sort of perfumed air freshener in the air conditioning system of the hall ways and dining room . It made me feel quite ill. I am not unusual in being allergic to such chemical smells, and could not remain long enough in the dining room to enjoy my breakfast! Why do they feel the need to add a synthetic smell to such a lovely hotel ?
I am a bit in doubt how to rate this hotel. We had the bad luck that one night the airconditioning malfunctioned (it heated up to 28 degrees) and another day we had a leak in the toilet, as a result of which we were offered a room, but without a balcony. Nevertheless all in all it was a pleasant hotel, with clean and great rooms. I'd say an 8/10.
The breakfast is really overpriced. The juice was labeled fresh orange juice, but wasn'T. We were staring at an empty tray for half of our stay, which only during a brief 5 minutes exhibit a piece of smoked salmon. The assortiment of meats consisted of ham and ham. Fresh fruit, wasn't all that fresh. One day there was mozarella with fresh tomatoes, the other days nothing complementary what so ever. It seems decadent to complain about these things, and I wouldn't if it hadn't been for a 19 euro price ticket.
The room was incredible, beautiful views over the sea. We had a balcony with strong sea views. The staff were very helpful and we had free parking
I couldn't connect to the wifi but didn't ask for help as I had 3G coverage!
Location. Very clean. Comfortable beds.Modern decor. Rooms very compact but comfy. Helpful and friendly staff
The price of the drinks in the bar otherwise everything was perfect.
Everything about the hotel was excellent. A very pleasant comfortable experience
Love the mini bar to chill vino we had brought with us. Great location and nice staff.
Bed extremely hard. Could use a pillow topper. Like firm beds but this was too much.
the whole egg..
Can't think of anything...apart from no hot milk for the coffee at breakfast
The lady at reception was quite pleasant. The dining room and evening meal was of a good standard The night supervisor was very helpful indeed when my teenage son got lost and was late back at the hotel.
The bar was very impersonal. Although the view was good, the atmosphere lacked warmth
The view from our room was perfectly stunning-my friend and I watched the waves for hours, and found this very calming and restful. Our room was very comfortable indeed, with loads of cupboard and wardrobe space and lots of hangers (something we rarely find, as two female friends travelling together.) The bar, Le Comptoir, had a great view of the sea as well as comfy seats and impeccable service. Sophie, who welcomed us to the hotel at Reception, was particularly pleasant. The colour scheme in our room was lovely, often matching the sea outside! The hotel was far enough away from the old town to be a bit quieter and provide a lovely prom walk to and from the Old City of St Malo. While I have made some critical points, overall, this was a wonderful stay in a gorgeous room in a fabulously well-situated hotel - would stay here again in a heartbeat!
The swimming pool was really too small for me - I like to just swim up and down, and there wasn't room for this, especially if there was anyone at all else in the pool. It's not quite a plunge pool, but I did feel it wasn't quite a swimming pool, either. Temperature was lovely, though. Wi-Fi was often slow or unobtainable for me, though I was trying to get it on my Android phone, while my friend found it easier with her iphone and ipad. We never ate in the hotel, finding even the breakfast (at a whopping 19 euros) too expensive. Quite pricey in terms of keeping our car in the garage, too, at 14 euros a day. That being said, the underground carpark was very secure-we managed to leave a car door wide open for over an hour and nothing was taken! I was quite shocked that dogs were allowed into the bar-the French generally seem to have a very liberal attitude towards dogs, but surely unacceptable in an area where people are eating and drinking? May I point out, just as a point of principle, that your categories for "while you were travelling, you were.." doesn't include "with a friend", which is surely a very large category of people? I, in common with many others, travel every year with one other friend, rather than "in a group". Worth amending your questionnaire??
Location on waterfront close to old town.
Paying for parking. For this level of accommodation it should be free.
good secure parking.
Fantastic rooms with wonderful scenic views (pay the extra and get a superior room - it is worth every penny), large room, huge bed, lovely bathroom and separate toilet and table and chairs on balcony.
the internet really was poor.
The room ( superior twin/double) and the sea view. Use of a garage
The restaurant. We are "foodies" who like to eat in good restaurants. However, the food here was pretentious, tasteless and overcooked (fish like cotton wool). We had a three course menu which came with a bonne bouche at the beginning and another - in the form of three substantial petit-four-like cakes - before the pudding. Had we known that this was so large we would have ordered cheese instead of another sweet course. The whole meal was unbalanced. And if they were petit fours, why before pudding and not afterwards? Reception was mixed. All the staff wore a rictous grin, self-evidently false. While one receptionist was not at all helpful, another one was both helpful and pleasant. Things improved before we left, however. Both receptionists on duty in the morning were good.
Don't get caught out and arrive late, if you don't book the restaurant in advance you wont get in, and whilst the girls at the desk bent over backwards to find us somewhere, management made us feel pretty stupid!
