Location - everything in walking distance; atmosphere - rustic, exposed beams and brick; courtyard - would be fantastic in summer; parking - limited but a small car was no issue and the price hard to beat; price - very good; would recommend
The pillow - long, hard, and stationary; the mattress - it's old, can feel the springs in some places; the shower - difficult to use and not get water everywhere. Proprietor could easily upgrade these for future.
It is located fairly close to the station, only a 10 minute walk or so. The staff were friendly and allowed us to leave our bags at reception early as we arrived early morning but were not checking in until the afternoon. There is a bakery across the road and many nice shops near by.
la déco ,la literie
In town with parking
Tired but did the job.
The location is perfect, and the staff is very kind
Honestly this place is in a great spot. But everything else leaves a lot to be desired. Charming staff but facilities really are pretty awful even though some rooms have been decorated relatively recently. Breakfast was pretty reasonable for the €7 I think we paid.
Bed awfully uncomfortable. Bathroom left a lot to be desired, it was grubby and not very clean. First room offered smelt of stale cigarettes. Hallways smelt unpleasant. Everything is very rundown really which is a shame because it had so much character, and we've stayed before about 13 years ago. Sad really but, you get what you pay for.
Antique hotel, old building
Difficult to park if you have a big car
below your mind
Great location and a beautiful old building.
Breakfast buffet was minimal and my shower had mould on the ceiling.
Access to shops and restaurants just minutes walk away
Very limited parking in a very tight alleyway. There is parking close by.
The old building has character. Staff is nice and available to help. Position is perfect to visit the city centre.
Very tired hotel, smelly bathroom, generally scruffy. Not worth what we paid.
The building complex with the couryard (its composed of a main house and barns all built together around a courtyard) is very authentic, it has the charm of the old, and I mean 16th century. Location is nice, very lively and quint close to the very center. However inside its quiet.
Its not a very good hotel. The room was extremely small, everything aged inside, bathroom old though clean, more or less. Staff doesnt speak English (well). And for the wifi you have ask for a new password every day, anoying. The whole place just doesn't meet modern requirement of what constitutes a good hotel.
people are very friendly location is very good including private parking the grill restaurant is excellent
rooms are a little bit poor and can be modernised.
Excellent location in the centre of town, close to all sights and a good choice of restaurants.
The bed was poor, sagging in the middle. Not a great night's sleep.
Located in a genuine nice old building, nearby a square with a mumber of different restaurants, and 15 minutes away from the old cathedral on foot .
The bed had one single cylindrical pillow; two individual pillows would make moving around easier and they could be used also to confort your back on sitting on the bed. A plastic curtain in the shower would also be a good addition.
Ambience, location, car parking
The location of this place is fantastic, right in old Dijon and across from Place Emile Zola (where there are great little restaurants). The hotel is located farther from the street, so it's very quiet. The room was large for a single person, and the bathroom was newly updated, very large, and had a bathtub (not always common in European hotels in historical areas!).
The only challenge (which is common for hotels in older city areas) is that there is no elevator. There was 1 flight of stairs to the reception and 1 tight flight of steep stairs to the room, so it wasn't really a problem.
Restaurant was lovely - had a superb evening meal there. Staff in the hotel all very friendly, smiley and helpful. Easy walking distance into the town.
Only a hand held shower - it would have been good if it had just had a fixing for the shower head. No proper individual pillows on the bed just a long "bolster" pillow across the whole width.
Lovely Old Medieval Coaching Inn. Absolutely love the antique room furniture and decor. Staff are fabulous so friendly and helpful.
nothing other than no HIT breakfast option,....however this is normal for France
Very good location. Helpful staff.
Rather run down.
The location is excellent. Parking is good as there is nowhere else. Staff or owners were charming.
Rooms shabby. e.g. Door handles falling off. Paint flaking and mild. Damp and rusty windows. Our room had an old old double mattress that sagged in the middle. Hot as well. I know it's an old French hotel but there is no excuse for the bed, door handles and general state of repair.
First impressions are fantastic, the archway leading through to an old courtyard that could have been lifted straight out of the last century, which is probably where it should have been left.
Dirty, smelly, cold, the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever tried to sleep in. There was more mold in the shower the Marie Curie could have shaken a stick at. The peeling paint did at least allow you to see what colour the original owners had painted the walls. The room was cold even in early september and the one scraggy curtain hardly covered the window which was overlooked from the room opposite. The best part of this hotel was the front door as we were leaving.
City centre location with parking. Helpful staff. Very reasonably priced for city centre location.
Very basic rooms. The bathroom was desperate for decoration and updating. Paint peeling from the walls in the shower. Bed not particularly comfortable.
