The staff was really great.
My room was small
Nice welcome, friendly staff. Felt at home.
Could have had a better pillow! Staircase a bit narrow and no elevator makes it tricky with a suitcase.
Location was perfect. The metro station is just round the corner but you can also hang around the area as it buzzes with life.
The stuff could not even utter a word in english. French was the only option..
Location convenient and staff friendly
Room a little shabby. Bathroom miniscule and not very clean
Location and wifi
Staircase with no lift! (our room is on level 3 and 4 and we have to drag our luggage without lift. One of the staff is quite helpful to help with my bag). Also don't like the toilet which is toooo small only one person barely fits in. However my friend on level 4 mentioned they have bigger room and toilet. I wrongly checked the price during booking. Well, it's not really worth the money for one night stay, to me it is quite pricey considering the hotel actual conditions.
Nicely located small and typically Parisian hotel, clean and quite comfortable for the price, very nice and helpful staff. Will definitely book there again !
no elevators almost no english in the reception only 2 small towels
- No elevator - Very small shower
Location is ok - fairly central and right next to Metro stop. Staff were friendly. Free WiFi though a bit slow. Bed comfy
Rooms are small and bathroom tiny. Very out of date and mismatched furniture - desperately in need of renovation. Opposite a college which can be noisy.
Good wifi and warm staffs, though they speak little English
Poor facilities, small beds
The bed was quite comfortable. The young night clerk was pleasant and helpful. A second young man galoped up to the fifth floor with a heavy bag and disappeared at tip time! The hotel is an easy walk with bags from the metro. Storage was extremely limited in Rm #1 We were allowed a room change. We were not charged extra to leave after 2 nights of a 5 night booking
Rm #1 The bathroom had considerable mould in all the grout work and corners. There were blood stains on the bottom sheet of the bed. Headroom was very restricting. Rm #2 Again, mould had gained the upper hand in the bathroom. The day clerk (the owner?) was very gruff, bordering on rude, when speaking with us.
excellent location, round the corner from the metro and short walk from Boulevard Montparnasse.
grumpy receptionist, no elevator, VERY small room and tiniest bathroom. Room was stuffy, floorboards sagging towards the centre of the room.
nice place, 10min to subway
i lked the location. it is close to metro montparnase where you have many train lines. you have wi fi and the room is very clean when we came they helped us with the luggage room small but you have everything what you need ; small desk bed , fan and little bath.
you have tiny stairs for lifting the luggage but you can ask help in the hotel.
The location could not have been better for the value and the staff were warm and overwhelmingly kind. They even went out of their way to help us with car trouble, after we had checked out. I'm very happy we chose to stay here.
Location is very good you can find everything close to the hotel. Shops, restsurants, metro stations. The Montparnasse tower and the train station is 10 minutes walk.
The stairs are dangerous, the stuff dont really want to speak english and thely are not so kind.
Location was excellent. It was a short walk to the major train system. Could also walk to Notre Dame and 20-30 mins walk to the Eiffel Tower. Lots of cafes and shops near.
The old man at the front spoke no english. He was very grumpy and yelled at us several times. At one point I couldn't find my suitcase and he wouldn't allow me to go upstairs to check for it. He continued to yell in French. The other staff spoke english and were very friendly but we mainly saw the older man. We stayed in a private room with private bathroom. The bathroom was really dirty and there was no door. It was more of a partition to the room. The floor was dirty and you could smell mold in the rooms. My husband and I also woke up with several bites on our legs. Not sure if that was from the actual bed but they weren't there before. The 6 euro breakfast was just a baguette and coffee. It would be cheaper to eat breakfast elsewhere. I wouldn't stay here again.
Location is good
4 flights of stairs without a lift and requires a bit of a facelift. Tired old Hotel.
This place is nice. Staff is excelent Location is excelent
upstars no elevator
Last time I stayed in this hotel, was 18 years ago. It had not changed at all! This is, however, not only positive...
No elevator, steep and narrow stairs, no proper door between WC/shower and the room. Because I knew the hotel, I had booked a double room instead of a single one. It is impossibe to imagine how two people could have stayed in that tiny room. (However, that is the case with very many other hotels in Paris, too.)
The hotel was close to the Metro and easy walking distance to Luxembourg Gardens as well as St-Germain-des- Pres. If you don't mind walking then all that the Ile de la Cite has to offer is at your disposal, or you can just hop on the Metro at St Placide. It is much appreciated if you can speak a little French. The hotel offers a great location for your stay and a quintessential French experience. All the staff were friendly and helpful in offering advice when needed. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Paris.
- situated near metro station - 2 min by foot - large room
- noone at Reception speaks English (except one - he speaks a little but works at working hours), only French - when we came to the room first what we saw - no towels, no toilet brush and excrements smeared over the toilet bowl -very small bathroom
It is situated in a nice area. Room was comfortable.
Room was smelling (perhaps the old carpet on the floor). Toilet was very small. Stuff did not speak English (but they were helpful). No elevator. Even though it is Paris... I consider it to be a little expensive for what it provides.
very central in Montparnasse; two Metro stations are very close by; there are lots of good restaurants in walking distance
in our room, no 18, the bathroom is TINY, the WC hardly fits into the bathroom, but all is in working order; owner speaks little English and it takes time to find him friendly or even smiling
The location is nice close to two metro stations with bars and restaurants that are open till 2am just minutes walk away. The staff was excellent although limited English but not a problem. Quiet and neat street with easy access to various tourist attractions using various mode of transport. Beware there is no lift so you might want to ask for a room close to the ground floor if you have a large luggage or have difficulty using steep and tiny staircase.
The toilet could do with more upgrade in facilities. For example the bath tub in my room takes ages to drain accumulating water while taking a bath which is not hygienic. The toilet itself wasn't clean as it had permanent stains that I would assume couldn't go away as the room was cleaned on a daily basis but the stain remained. I also had to ask for a shower curtain change as the one in the bath was really dirty which is totally unacceptable considering rooms are supposed to be properly cleaned and checked prior to arrival of guest.
