Bed was comfortable
Didn't reply to my request for carparking, when I arrived, no park was available. Had to park 1km away in a public carpark. By the time I returned in teh evening, the staff had left and there was no information on how to connect to the wifi....
Nicely renovated, very clean hotel, 15-minute walk to train station, 15-minute walk to bus station which will bring you to TGV station, 15-minute walk to Old Town, 5-minute walk to grocery store, shops, restaurants.
We only stayed one night. We could walk from the bus station and also into town.
Central location walkable to almost everything even for this older couple. Air conditioning, and COMFORTABLE mattress and linens. Quiet facility and area. Congenial staff. Will book again when returning to Aix.
Why are there no washcloths in European hotels?
Noise (thru walls) No WiFi Expensive
Small breakfast room.
Room was airy, light and pleasant, and the bed was comfortable. Didn't have breakfast. 10 minutes to walk into town.
The shower didn't drain away very well, leaving a bit of a pool, but otherwise it worked fine. A good 20-25 minute walk from the station.
Location Rooms are comfortable
Zu, who is a very helpful, cheerful and pleasant lady manager made our stay a memorable one. Very clean and comfortable room.
Room a bit tight but we knew that
Hotel could be a nice place if staff would not be so rude and if they took care of facts like bedbugs which could be removed.
No assistance were given when bedbugs were regrettfully discovered and no help to find the emergency pharmacy or doctor, initially nice impression, but after this experience, very disappointed and sad to see such negligence and zero empathy, no compensation and bad management. Very sad, otherwise I could have gone back, but after this experience I do not recommend it to anyone.
Staff is nice, location good, room looked clean....
Waking up with bedbugs made our stay rather unpleasant. Therefore I would not recommend staying here....
Very poor breakfast for 7,50 euro
Location is excellent on balance: a good few minutes' walk away from the Cours Mirabeau, but that means it's quiet, and there's a big Casino supermarket nearby. I chose this over more central hotels for price and space -- the rooms are a little less 'compact' than some. Very friendly and accommodating: one of the managers waited up to let me in, though I came on a late TGV from Paris. Everything clean and working, good shower in particular. Wifi has to be refreshed regularly but otherwise fine. No traffic noise (though there is traffic), quiet air conditioning, comfortable bed. Breakfast unremarkable but 'correct' and generous. Have been coming to Aix for years on research business, and this is the most reliable hotel I've stayed in.
Am struggling to think of anything. No view of la Sainte-Victoire?
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is not cheap, but the room and bathroom were very clean.
The breakfast at 9 euros was expensive for what it was. I only realized it was not included when paying the bill - my fault ! The wifi signal in our room was very poor and the street was a little noisy - the downside of quite a central location on one of the main traffic arteries of Aix
it's 10 minute to center i like hotel.
Staff don't know english and no wifi at night.
Location near town centre, good for bus and train. Clean room, comfortable bed, friendly and efficient staff.
Could do with more electric sockets. No kettle. Not a problem for us but be aware you have to climbing a flight of steps to the front door.
Walking distance to city centre/cour Mirabeau. Supermarket nearby. Clean room.
Pretty far from bus terminal, quite a tiring walk if you have heavy luggages. No hot water flask.
Very pleasant staff and close to the town centre
Room was very small
It was very quiet. The staff very helpful. In easy walking distance to the historic centre of Aix and also not far from the Gare Routiere for the coach to Marseille airport
location, cleanliness, good ratio quality/price. location few minutes walk to downtown and close to the exit of the highway.
door and walls very thin if someone has problem with the noise during the night.
Nothing, although the attention of the front desk is friendly.
We were totally surprised, to find that the Hotel, no interior access. Access is by external stairs (no accessor) which prevented up our bags. 3x3 m2 room is very small and there is a shower of 1x1 m2 inside. No closet, just a steel bar with hangers. Smells musty. The dining room does not admit more than 4 lovebirds. We had to sit next to the reception, which is also in the same space. There are rooms facing the dining room. Poor clients. Not seems to be a hotel, rather it is a Guesthouse. And the price is excessive, compared with hotels around.
Easy to find from the highway, just a few walking minutes to the pedestrian zone of Aix, the room looked clean.
Very small room, old building on a bussy street, impossible to slip with open windows. Suspicious gray colour of towels :-(((, didn't have the courrage to us them...They offered us a garage in a nearby building for 9 EUR /night. It was ok but the place was scary, I would never enter there by night, if I was alone. A lot to expensive for what they offer.
Very clean. Good breakfast and the location was good as Aix is the gateway to places like Cannes, Nice, St Tropez etc. We hired a car at Marseilles Airport and reached Nice in about 90 minutes (starting out from Aix). Also an excellent place to stay if you want to use it as a base for reaching all the villages in Provence, particularly the beautiful Luberon region. The owner's wife is also a lovely person and she is fluent in English. The Hotel Vendome is good value for money and well situated. The tourism bureau just up the road is great and all the staff are proficient in English.
Room was very small but it didn't matter because we were out touring the entire time. The steep flight of steps at the entrance is also an issue and this should be stated on the website. However, the owner was helpful by offering to take our luggage up for us. Not recommended for the elderly and definitely not an option for anyone who is disabled, purely because of these steps. Also, no parking is available at the hotel but the local Rotunda parking facility can be accessed 24 hours per day for about 15 Euros per day if the car is parked over night (not expensive when you consider the cost of city parking in Sydney and Melbourne).
