L'Hermitage Gantois  

Sehr gelungene Mischung aus historischer Bausubstanz und modernem Komfort, zu empfehlen!

Das sehr schöne Zimmer und das Frühstück. Sehr freundlich.

Ich finde es bedauerlich, dass man im Zimmer keinen Kaffee oder Tee machen kann. Das ist meiner Meinung nach für Hotels dieser Qualität selbstverständlich und fehlte uns sehr.

It is uniquely beautiful building, incorporating the old church. Beautiful gardens, and a magnificent dining room. Staff were always helpful and polite, rooms are beautiful.

Breakfast wasn't included in booking price and also lacked the attention to detail a five star hotel would suggest.

This hotel has a very different feel to it and the history behind it makes it all the more interesting. The bar area is really lovely and makes for a pleasant place to have coffee or evening drinks. There was a live pianist on Saturday evening and a good atmosphere. The rooms were clean and spacious.

Very expensive - wine by the small glass was from 8-14 euros and a beer was 9 euros. Small coffee was 5 euros. The restaurant was nice but also overpriced. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room.

Beautiful, historic building which has been creatively renovated. Very nice bar area and quiet library. Plenty of art on display in the attached gallery.

The rooms were somewhat lacking in the 'extra' facilities I would expect of a hotel claiming 5*. Such as tea/coffee making facilities, internet tv etc. The hotel is also situated in a less than ideal location.

We found the room very small and the bed was a total disaster, we had just had 3 nights at the new Barriere Casino hotel and were spoilt there with the comfort and conditions of the hotel. I'm afraid l'Hermitage didn't come close to it and just seems tired. We would not return even if it was for free. We were tots by the staff three times that we were staying in a 5 star hotel! I think they have a few things to learn about quality and service before they come out with these remarks in future.

Prices rather expensive especially in bar !

We were very impressed when, on arrival, there were flowers in our room with a note congratulating us on our first wedding anniversary! The hotel was tranquil and the room beautiful, and yet just moments from the city centre. Recommended!

The service was excellent The dining room meal was also good

For both room rate and meals it was rather expensive - particularly the cost of the parking and breakfast

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the L'Hermitage Gantois. This historic 'completely renovated' hospital is amazing - a fusion of history and current sleek lines. Our room was pleasant - and the king size bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was splendid - grey slate tiles, ultra modern fixtures etc. The breakfast buffet was excellent ! The hotel is located just outside of the old quarter of Lille. I would have preferred to stay right in the middle of the old quarter.

Very interesting hotel. A prior hospital with lots of character. Lovely staff, and confortable surroundings. The bed was on the firm side, if you enjoy that. Our room, 207 overlooked the back loading dock, and the sounds of plastic crates being stacked into teh late evening was a bit annoying when trying to sleep. I would return to this hotel, but would request a room not facing the back loading dock.
