Hotel facilities Could have simply stayed in hotel all weekend
The bistro was a little disappointing, my tip if you do eat in there, go earlier rather than later in the evening.
the hot water took a little longer to come out in the shower
A beautiful hotel with unique decor steeped in history. The service was discreetly excellent, creating an atmosphere of tranquil luxury. Would love to return - particularly to sample the new spa which will undoubtedly make it even more difficult to leave!
Bistro food not great
The hotel is a conversion from an old hospital and is done tastefully throughout.
Coffee not hot enough at breakfast, although the Nespresso machine is a good alternative.
Nice room and hotel with character. Reception staff at check out we're very nice (31st December)
Didn't feel like a full five star experience. Staff seemed a little disinterested at check in. One said room wasn't ready when I initially arrived at 2.40 pm and when returned another member of staff said rooms had been ready for some time.
The building is extraordinary and the hotel is on walking distance from the old town and all main attractions. We had diner at Christmas day in the main restaurant and the food was delicious but one of the wines was returned as it was dead. The wine was changed without any discussion. Would expect that the staff checks what they serve from an opened bottle!
I asked for non-perfumed bed linen and room to be cleaned with non-perfumed detergents, which was confirmed by the hotel. The cleaner we met had not been informed! Moreover, there was a strange smell in the room. No washbasin in the separate toilet in the hotelroom. The breakfast was very limited for a five star hotel. Furthermore, the capacity on Sunday morning was not sufficient and almost everything was lacking. We did not get value for 23 euros! The air quality in the main restaurant is poor. No WiFi connection during half of our stay!
The amazing architecture of a unique conversion of a former monastery. The attention to detail in the design of the bedrooms and common parts
Hotel located in a non-descript part of town
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Pretty interior and rooms. Excellent service - when we complained about the noisy water treatment building we we next to, we were immediately up-graded to a quieter room.
Views onto apartments and derelict buildings. Beds too soft.
The building had a great ambience; stylish but still comfortable and cosy; busy but still calm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and offered all we could need. The bed was very comfortable indeed. The food was of a high standard and the service was perfect. All in all a great hotel which we would certainly book again.
Nothing. Pity they do not have their own parking but the valet parking was very efficient.
Location Style & design of hotel and bedrooms Very luxurious well maintained rooms and suites Great atmosphere Friendly staff Quality of food in both restaurants & room service Rooms excellent value for money
Expensive parking Overpriced breakfast Slow wifi Poor service in bar
Valet parking. Friendly, helpful staff at reception and everywhere else. Comfortable bedroom over courtyard, totally quiet for great sleep. Pleasant bistro adjoining.
As usual, no hand basin in the loo - incredible at 5 star! But it appears to be the standard situation in French hotels .....? Not likely to appeal to hygiene conscious tourists!
The staff were excellent the breakfast was lovely. Location was excellent for the centre
The foyer and bar was nice even if it took ages to get served.
Some of the Reception staff were very surly and unfriendly and the wi-fi was awful. It also took ages to get served in the bar. I have no idea why this has so many rave reviews to be honest. We checked out and into the Barriere which was fantastic
Lovely old building but interior very modern and, in some ways, clinical. Liked atrium bar area. Restaurant excellent with best beef fillet ever - but pricey.
Room small. Interior design could have been more in sympathy with the old building.
Bar area and reception very contemporary. Comfortable bed.
Very small room,no mirror or dressing table Small dark bathroom We booked a table at the hotel's brasserie restaurant which was very disappointing..food was awful. Expensive breakfast which we did not have 23 euros is ridiculous when the room costs 200.
Rooms were too small!! Luggage was stayıng ın bathroom
Had a fabulous time at this hotel. The staff were truly outstanding. We had forgotten our passports to get into the Lille casino. We called the hotel and they very kindly dropped our passports off to us at the casino. They went above and beyond. The hotel itself is stunning. Looking forward to our next visit...
Very lovely place, the hotel is beautiful, rooms were so sweet.. Pleasurable stay, adorable place..
Lots of original features from it's historic past. Lovely bar area.
Shame the swimming pool isn't open yet.
The staff were welcoming on arrival and friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel has been seamlessly integrated into an old convent and the staff are happy to explain its historical significance if you are interested. Our room was well laid out overlooking an internal courtyard and spotlessly clean. The bed was spacious and very comforfortable ensuring a good night's sleep. We wanted to stay in an area away from the touristy part of Lille that was easily accessible from the city centre by metro and bus so we chose this location. It was also only a twenty minute walk into town. Overall we felt that the hotel offered good value for money.
The Wi-Fi signal was n't the greatest.
Exactly the service and comfort an hotel of your caliber would be expected to offer. I was very grateful to Sarah(I hope that was her name) for her kindness in shopping for a French product that I have used for years and unable to get in England.
Very little - except being partially disabled - my breakfast was left outside my door and almost impossible to carry into the room. (This was probably my fault as I did not mention to reception my condition except to say that I could not get into a bath.)
Loved the style of the hotel, room was better than expected. Lounge area was very comfortable to relax in after a busy day exploring lille.
Funny smell in bathroom.
