Score from 397 reviews Excellent
The building had a great ambience; stylish but still comfortable and cosy; busy but still calm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and offered all we could need. The bed was very comfortable indeed. The food was of a high standard and the service was perfect. All in all a great hotel which we would certainly book again.
Nothing. Pity they do not have their own parking but the valet parking was very efficient.
Location Style & design of hotel and bedrooms Very luxurious well maintained rooms and suites Great atmosphere Friendly staff Quality of food in both restaurants & room service Rooms excellent value for money
Expensive parking Overpriced breakfast Slow wifi Poor service in bar
Valet parking. Friendly, helpful staff at reception and everywhere else. Comfortable bedroom over courtyard, totally quiet for great sleep. Pleasant bistro adjoining.
As usual, no hand basin in the loo - incredible at 5 star! But it appears to be the standard situation in French hotels .....? Not likely to appeal to hygiene conscious tourists!
The staff were excellent the breakfast was lovely. Location was excellent for the centre
The foyer and bar was nice even if it took ages to get served.
Some of the Reception staff were very surly and unfriendly and the wi-fi was awful. It also took ages to get served in the bar. I have no idea why this has so many rave reviews to be honest. We checked out and into the Barriere which was fantastic
Lovely old building but interior very modern and, in some ways, clinical. Liked atrium bar area. Restaurant excellent with best beef fillet ever - but pricey.
Room small. Interior design could have been more in sympathy with the old building.
Bar area and reception very contemporary. Comfortable bed.
Very small room,no mirror or dressing table Small dark bathroom We booked a table at the hotel's brasserie restaurant which was very disappointing..food was awful. Expensive breakfast which we did not have 23 euros is ridiculous when the room costs 200.
Rooms were too small!! Luggage was stayıng ın bathroom
Had a fabulous time at this hotel. The staff were truly outstanding. We had forgotten our passports to get into the Lille casino. We called the hotel and they very kindly dropped our passports off to us at the casino. They went above and beyond. The hotel itself is stunning. Looking forward to our next visit...
Very lovely place, the hotel is beautiful, rooms were so sweet.. Pleasurable stay, adorable place..
Lots of original features from it's historic past. Lovely bar area.
Shame the swimming pool isn't open yet.
The staff were welcoming on arrival and friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel has been seamlessly integrated into an old convent and the staff are happy to explain its historical significance if you are interested. Our room was well laid out overlooking an internal courtyard and spotlessly clean. The bed was spacious and very comforfortable ensuring a good night's sleep. We wanted to stay in an area away from the touristy part of Lille that was easily accessible from the city centre by metro and bus so we chose this location. It was also only a twenty minute walk into town. Overall we felt that the hotel offered good value for money.
The Wi-Fi signal was n't the greatest.
Exactly the service and comfort an hotel of your caliber would be expected to offer. I was very grateful to Sarah(I hope that was her name) for her kindness in shopping for a French product that I have used for years and unable to get in England.
Very little - except being partially disabled - my breakfast was left outside my door and almost impossible to carry into the room. (This was probably my fault as I did not mention to reception my condition except to say that I could not get into a bath.)
Loved the style of the hotel, room was better than expected. Lounge area was very comfortable to relax in after a busy day exploring lille.
Funny smell in bathroom.
Excellent breakfast. Impressive bar area. Loved the bathroom.
The street where the hotel is located is not so nice. Still takes about 10 minutes to walk to the centre. Bedroom was a bit on the small side. Wifi unreliable.
Re-use of an ancient hospital was generally well done although the covered courtyard -- which could have been magnificent -- was a bit too "plastic" and a bit too chopped up with a large bar in the middle rather blocking the overall look.
LIttle things missing that, in a hotel of this class, should have been there -- no towel racks in the bathroom, hallways with lots of bare walls where pictures would have been nice; self-advertising posters in public places (e.g. the former chapel) that rather blocked otherwise interesting views.
Bedroom and bed very comfortable Bathroom very nice Bistro attached to the hotel
Toilet in a cupboard in the room Breakfast very expensive (€23 per person) but very nice
The comfort of the hotel and the excellent staff who were only too willing to help at all times
The high bath - very awkward for a small person to get in and out.
Staff, ambience, bar
Too hot and no light weight blanket, in middle of night
The internal design which married the historical heritage with light and airy feel. Easy stroll into the centre. Very pleasant staff. Free WiFi
Nothing really, but my wife found pillows not as comfortable as she'd wish.
Hotel was amazing and the staff were very friendly and willing to answer any questions you had.
We paid for a court yard view however although our room faced the court yard the window was so high you could not see it. Should not be deceived into thinking you were going to have this view when you did not.
Comfortable beds, nice ambiance. Friendly and helpful staff.
Food in Bistro was poor. Very expensive breakfasts which were only pretty average.
Courteous attention from all staff. Relaxing and comfortable ambience Historical interest relating to the hotel building
The bed was a bit too soft, not the quality I would expect.
The large, open foyer with a central bar, soft sofas and live piano were lovely. The room was comfortable and the staff extremely friendly and helpful.
The pillows were awful - didn't get a good night's sleep during our (3-night) stay. Our room had an ensuite bathroom with separate toilet, across the room from the bathroom. The toilet didn't have a basin and was poorly decorated - a shame as the bathroom itself was great.
