Only 30m to Metro station Simplon. Cheapest accom with own room available at the time. Has an elevator. I booked a single bed room and on arrival I was upgraded to a room with a larger bed. There are some rooms with own bathroom but they were booked out.
Very basic. One shared toilet per floor. Only two showers (1st & 2nd floor) for all 6 floors. Bed base was sagging in middle (broken in the centre), but mattress on floor was quite comfortable in the end. Bar across road had loud music until 10pm on Saturday night - then it was really quiet (they must have closed their doors & windows).
Pretty cheap normally. I paid a lot as it was Paris Motor Show week. The rooms are not bad for this end of the market, and the location is about 20 metres from a Metro (Simplon, so direct to Chatelet) but still quiet. It looks a bit shoddy, but it's clean. There's a decent supermarket across the road, but I couldn't find a decent restaurant or bar.
The mattress wrapped in its plastic. It was like sleeping on a bag of corn flakes. Sweaty with a loud crackling sound every time I moved. The internet is by Meteor, so it's pretty erratic. It's fast when it works though.
It was close to metro station
The hotel was in fairly poor condition and very noisy. The paid WiFi kept stopping so I got to know the password without looking at the paper any more. I chose this hotel because I read a review saying it was quiet. It was not quiet at all.
Very friendly staff and only 1 minute from a superb metro system.
1 toilet between 9 rooms ... no shower on my floor, I had to have strip washes.I was informed only 2 showers in the whole hotel of 40 odd rooms. No phone in room as advertised on booking.com. No TV in room.
Too small bathroom
Rude staff,there.r.only 2 shared.washrooms..
- Room ok - Very good Pizza 5€ just next to the hotel
- No towel in the room - The pub in front of the hotel is very loud. I couldn't sleep. - TV reception is extremely bad - Water leak on the shower making the room entrance wet and dirty. - Hotel quite dirty - I had to pay in advance
Dirty, poor lighting, extremely old furnitures that is not even vintage or classic. Just old.
The hotel was dirty. The sink in the room was blocked and smelt. The carpet was filthy and stained - I had to wear my shoes to avoid sticking to the floor. The lights were broken. The staff were rude. The towels were stained and not fit for rags. The curtains were broken and the blanket and bed covers were so dirty they could have been used for chemical warfare. I have travelled the world, both for business and back packing - this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
Location to Metro & conveniences very good. Cheap for Paris but value. Take the metro not taxis.
Carpet very old & need window open but street noise a bit of a problem.
Elelator is small (2 persons) and seems dangeous.
This hotel is old tired an overpriced. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone there are so many better options in Paris that people can take advantage of. Don't waste the time or money. Go somewhere else.
There was hair on the bed. Floors were disgusting. Horrible experience
worst hostel ever!!!! Bedbugs have beaten me all night long and even crawl my pillow, bed cover, toilet and everywhere!!!!!!!!!! plus so freaking smell borthered whenever i entered the room. please rethink of booking this hostel. please...
Bed bugs, staff is terrible, etc. Could recommend only to the worse enemy!
+location (close to metro station and shops) +price of room +nice to stay here for a couple of days
-staff gave us key from room and they did not ask for ID
The facilities were very clean. There was a metro stop, a grocery store, a park, a tabac and several little shops under 5 minutes away. If you don't mind sharing a toilet and shower, this place is perfect. I stayed with my boyfriend, we are both under 25. For the price, you'll recieve excellent service, cleanliness and location.
Friendly staff location was not bad...close to the metro station.
The room had bed bugs!!! They were all over the room and our suitcases. They sucked our blood all night.Nightmare!
I had an excellent room with two side balconies. The beds were super comfortable. Very charming old world French apartment. Metro and a supermarket on the doorstep.
The internet system is painful. You have to pay for it by the hour or day as an extra and you have to log in and put in a password every time. One purchase of the internet is only available for one handset/machine. The internet also keeps dropping out. I'd suggest don't even bother with the internet there and use it for free at a cafe with a coffee.
Was close to metro and was easy to get around Paris.it was close to Sacre Coeur and reasonably priced
The bed was very creaky and dilapidated. The room was quite dated and noisy.Access was quite difficult
Hi, terrible hotel. Bugs everythere. Nobody take care about cleaning there. Will write everywhere not to book that dead hotel....
My room was on the 4th floor, but the bathroom was on the 2nd floor.
First the owner of the place was very rude speaking in a very aggressive way. Once we entered our room we smelled a very strong odor of insecticide we didn't care at first. During the night we woke up on tons of bites I opened the light we saw bed bugs and other small insects on the bed .we went to the man standing in the reception and told him what happened he told us ok leave ur luggage in the room and go sleep in another one we went to the other room and slept in the morning we woke up with more and more bites and finding other bed bugs on the bed.Of course we packed left this place, we intended to stay for 5 nights but we only stayed one night. It was a real nightmare.
There were insects on the pillow in the bed. When we checked in we went upstairs to the room and we entered bassicaly there was not any bed it was like someone decorating the room. It was terrible also there was a specfic smell like somebody was dead under your bed. Not to mention that this smell it is already stucked in my nose. Although we were there for one night we could not bear it and at 3 am we left the hotel. And that is not pretty mch it was so bad
Reasonable rates and proximity to central sites
Overall cleanliness was poor. Needs to revamp the whole place in one go.Noise from outside people on the streets stops a good night sleep so insulation would be good. Some staff need to understand that a small hallway and limited lift space impedes travellers when checking in/out. Mould and peeling ceiling paint did not add to the ambience of the stay, nor the smell emanating from the toilets. Understandably there was renovation work going on but overall it wont be enough. Parking in the area is almost impossible but it wasn't broadcast that local parking was free for August.
