Wonderful view of the village square. Beautiful room, very well thought out. We went out to the best restaurant of the whole holiday thanks to our host. We stopped at a few hotels during ourtime in France and Spain and this was most memorable and best. Very individual place & loved the staircase, cats and clock.

Stylish, romantic, clean (like you've never seen before), friendly, respect for privacy, air-con and wi fi that actually work! 25 min stroll to the beach, 2 min stroll to the market (certain days), the breakfast! You MUST have the breakfast here at least once! As for the owners, well...they are the most genuine, welcoming and helpful (lent us a beach umbrella and towels for 3 days to save us buying them) hosts you will ever meet - more like staying with friends than business owners. Finally as a bonus you feel a million miles away from the crowds that swarm around the campsites and beachfront. L'Hostalet has a certain je n'est sais quoi to it - we will continue to stay here for many years to come, I just know it...

The service was extremely good and sincere. At breakfast they try to make things themselfes at much as possible and also fresh fruit. Very helpfull in directing to the right restaurants. He even walked with us to the car with our luggage so we didn't need to walk twice or bring the car in front of the hotel.

A very friendly welcome was followed by a service level from which other B andB's could learn. The standard and presentation of our room was comparable to a four star hotel and the home made items which formed the basis of our breakfast, a delight to consume. Additional adjectives would be superfluous - stay there - we'd be surprised if you're not impressed. Debbie and Roger - Leeds

Having to leave both the accommodation and the area.

Perfect location in traditional French village/town yet near enough to the hustle and bustle at the beach if you want to go there. Breakfasts were amazing. Staff excellent.

    No negatives whatsoever

The service was incredibly warm, accommodating and friendly. The room and attention to detail was impeccable. The breakfast was an additional 10 euros but delicious. Everything was perfect, thank you!

Amazing people running this place, extremely welcoming and warm! They go out of their way to make one feel comfortable. The rooms are decorated with a fine taste with a lot of attention even to small details. The breakfasts were fantastic!!

We had a room facing the main road and it was a bit noisy but that's fine if you are ok with sleeping with airconditioner on. Even more noise came from the neighbors as the building is old and with wooden floors - one could hear people above walking all night... and other. So ask for a room facing the inner courtyard and all will be just fine ;-)

Our hosts Matthew and John were extremely welcoming and helpful. They did everything that could be hoped for to make our stay a real pleasure. L'Hostalet is a charming guest house in the old part of the town which is a great place to soak up the atmosphere of this seaside retreat. Lovely breakfasts on the terrace and the twice-weekly market which surrounded us on Saturday and Wednesday were memorable experiences. L'Hostalet gets a big tick of approval from us!

Attentive staff and a lovely breakfast. Located in the centre of the old town although this meant that after unloading our bags the car had to be parked 50 metres down the road.

The best place we stayed during our week in France and hands down best value for money. Matthieu (our host) greeted us warmly and gave great advice on places to eat, parking etc - exceptional proprietor. Room was decorated in relaxing, neutral colours (wonderful to settle into after our long day of travel) and was spotlessly clean. Bed very comfortable and wifi great. Highly recommend.

Second time I have stayed here. It is simply perfect. Everything is spotlessly clean and the rooms are simple but lovely. Service is wonderful and they couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast is excellent and plentiful. I even got a candle on my breakfast fruit salad as it was my birthday. Argeles is a lovely town --- forget the tacky beach bit, the town itself is wonderful. I would live at L'Hostalet if I could - love it!

Matthieu, the proprietor was very kind and considerate. He made sure in every way that we were comfortable. He provided clear directions and advice about travel to the guest house in advance. He volunteered to take our heavy luggage to our upstairs room and took me to the nearby car park (all one way street, not easy to negotiate for someone who is unfamiliar with driving in a small French village). He provided very appropriate tips for visiting nearby places, and got us electrical adapters for foreign appliances. The room was very clean and comfortable, sheets/towels were changed and the room cleaned daily. We even had complementary confectioneries for the Christmas day. The room's view to the village square was nice. We had a very comfortable stay, and we highly recommend this place to anyone. Hope to come again.
