Once I got there it was very nice.Breakfast could have been much better as they brought cheese rather than help yourself

The fact as your records will show that despite contacting them for dinner confirmation over a period of 4 months I never once got a reply

Warm comfortable atmosphere, family run, we had spacious, well fitted bedroom and bathroom, in fact it was one of the best hotels we stayed in during our three week trip round the continent. The breakfast too was excellent. Highly recommended.

The chateau was beautiful and located close to Verdun where we wanted to explore. The history of the chateau adds to the atmosphere of being in an area known for battles. The room I booked for 80 EU a night was large, beautiful and spotlessly clean. The food in the restaurant was fantastic as well.

Freundlicher Empfang, aufmerksame Bedienung. Das Hotel entsprach unseren Vorstellungen (wir hatten uns vorher im Internet darüber informiert). Essen war sehr gut, raffinierte Zubereitung.

The beautiful house itself, the wonderful surroundings and the very friendly service.

The whole ambience - food excellent, staff friendly, building speaks for itself! Only one drawback - the quilt far too big for the bed!!

This was our last hotel stop having toured Southern Europe and the first hotel we came across that did not offer a buffet style breakfast. At the price being charged for breakfast this was disappointing.

The restaurant prices were very expensive, also they charge 18 euros for a basic breakfast which so far is the most I have ever paid in Europe...it was only ok. There is no other option for dining near the hotel so I think this is why they charge you so much....better to stay in town.

Ambience, peaceful, tranquil

The staff were wonderful - very friendly and always there to help. The castle has a very popular restaurant so the team always check with you in advance if you'd like a table. Given the rural location the castle is very peaceful. We enjoyed making use of the sun loungers beside the stream that runs through the estate. The castle has plenty of history and has been loving cared for.

Not anything we didn't like but to note the castle is in blissful seclusion. The food is wonderful at the castle although a bit rich to have for lunch and dinner for a number of nights. We selected to drive to Verdun for lunch on our stay.

The location is beautiful, the building is magical, elegant and historic. The food was excellent if a little expensive. Staff were hard working and friendly.

The decor was very tired. They have too much old furniture. Our room, although spacious with a lovely view of the grounds smelled strongly of rubber (perhaps an old mattress protector?) and had an eclectic collection of antique stuff which gave it a shambolic effect and gave the impression that it wasn't very clean. The mattress was very hard. There was an old blue sofa on the landing and together with the patterned carpet, patterned curtains and several tables covered in un-matching old tablecloths and leaflets or jars of produce, the effect was not a good one. It was like staying with an ancient Aunt who had fallen on hard times. The Chateau has masses of potential and with a bit of updating they could attract more people to enjoy the delicious food.

Everything far surpassed my expectations--the staff were very welcoming, although we arrived long before check-in time, the grounds were lovely, my room beautiful, the food (dinner and breakfast) excellent. All romantic. I was there partly to be close to Verdun for research for a book, and found that this lovely chateau had been the American ambulance headquarters early in ww I. The staff showed me photos of trenches in their land, airplanes sitting on their lawns, doctors working there, etc. This was a bonus that brought the war to life for me. I would love to return some day.

Fabulous! A beautiful retreat in the countryside just 12k from Verdun and an easy hour's drive to Metz on the motorway. We had our 2 large dogs with us who loved the ample grounds with its woodland and stream. Excellent value for money, a well maintained chateau in keeping with its period, lovely facilities, professional and accommodating staff, delicious food. It doesn't get much better than sitting on the terrace late afternoon with a glass of champagne or two before dinner. A memorable experience.

We loved everything about it and the location which suited our needs. Some may find it remote as it's well and truly in the countryside, but so tranuil with so much wildlife - just 10 mins drive by car to the historic town of Verdun.

We dashed from Calais having been seriously delayed. The receptionist was charming when we explained that we would arrive very late, and welcomed us at 23:35, showed us to our room and arranged a nightcap for us on the terrace. Simple good quality breakfast the next morning set us up for the onward journey to Italy. First class service.

The hotel is a beautiful setting and location. It has been preserved with much of the original fittings and fixtures. The food and service was excellent and was good value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked the hotel for a treat for my daughter on a trip by car through the WW1 battlefield area, and then South to Portugal. Pricey, but ideal for a lavish spoil yourself break. Very highly recommended.

The hotel is luxurious. The grounds are beautiful. The food was first rate.
