We had a short break in this hotel which was in an excellent location with good public parking. The bedroom was air conditioned which was a blessing. Breakfasts were very expensive and the staff were totally disorganised. You had to ask for cutlery, condiments etc. The shower in the en suite was adequate but you could not adjust the height of the shower spray as the fixing bracket was broken and the front of the on off dial was missing.

An historic building in an historic setting the hotel offers a rare opportunity to stay in a place of such interest and individuality Only a minor thing, but the double bed was a bit too small for real comfort

The place itself is beautiful and romantic, just on the river. The room was great and the decor was stylish - and the spa bath in the bathroom was fantastic. The restaurant was a bit pricey for a non-michelin star restaurant, but it may have been very good. We decided to dine elsewhere.

Very romantic hotel, ideal for honeymoon or proposal. Right in the city center in a beautiful area of Petit Venise. Rooms are small but comfortable. Definitely not recommendable for handicapped. Smal starcaises (two - three steps) are everywhere, corridors are narrow and orientation difficult as the hotel is composed of several historic buildings. Service in the restaurant has to improve - waiters were quite ok but waitresses are inattentive and slow.

Location of the hotel was excellent. Just 15 minutes by walk from the main station and 6 Euros by taxi. Very close to the city center and all site seeing places were walking distance. For a beautiful view of the river, book the room overlooking the river. A bit expensive .......breakfast was not included.

Very handy for strolling along to the various bars and restaurants. Superb restaurant in the hotel albeit pricey. Quiet rooms which are small but beautifully decorated. Lovely olde worlde ambience. Although there is no on site garage, there is a pay car park right outside.

The medieval surroundings of the hotel We both speak good french , so communication was not a problem. The male restaurant staff have a chip on their shoulder. Their attitude expresses a sign of arrogance and not particularly friendly. In the end we asked the female restaurant staff for help. They were excellent. The main waiter made a mistake with the ordering of the main meal (wrong main dish) In the end we received the correct dish but the bill (higher) was never changed. At check out the dish had changed on the bill but it was another incorrect one ! No one asked during the meal if all was to satisfaction. This is a blatent sign of ignorance for the well being of the guests. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. But the service was a big let down. (Arrogance) The cost of the meals were high in comparison to the hotel rate.

The hotel is in the prettiest section of Colmar. There is cheap public parking in front of the hotel. There is a restaurant on site (but very pricey)and the buffet breakfast is very good, but at 15 Euros it's the most expensive we have encountered in many trips to Europe. The double rooms are quite cramped and differ greatly from the suites on the canal side.

What a beautiful litttle romantic hotel with gourmet restaurant in a delighfully quaint and picturesqe historic town that beats most all I have experienced for atmosphere. Looks like something Disney might try to duplicate but would fall short of the mystical beauty of this town. The room looked out on the little venice river side, had a jaccuzi, french style decor and even air conditioning. I cant rave about it more. The food was exceptional and the table either inside or outside along the water. The only problem I had was that the bed was so hard that it was difficult to sleep well - although my wife was just fine since she likes hard beds.

The location was excellent, staff professional and friendly. I was happy with the package and felt unpressured to agree to any additional extras, such as meals. I understand that the restaurant is excellent and will certainly try it next time.

The location The room -- the only one we were offered -- was tiny and overheated. The bed was tiny. The mattress was uncomfortable. The shower temperature could not be adjusted and was set at scalding, so for two days we had no shower. The 20-euro-per-person breakfast featured stale bread and a small selection of other options. The 50-euro-per-person lunch had indifferent service and the main course, which was surely intended to be hot, was served cold. I'm not complaining, just saying...

The excellent location and the warm decor. It is beautiful on the front and back side from outside the hotel and there are always people taking pictures of the hotel. I loved the xmas polar bear decorations. The service was excellent, dinner lovely. The bed is very old and uncomfortable and made it difficult to sleep with a deep slope toward the middle. The room was small, however that would not be a concern if the bed were updated. The shower has great contemporary hardware but the shower stall is too small to accommodate all the action and the sink did not drain quickly. Internet service was weak the entire stay. Dinner was a bit rushed by the staff.

“Friendly, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Our room was spacious, imaginatively decorated and well appointed . The hotel is perfectly situated at one end of the recommended medieaval city walk. The breakfast, which was included in our tarriff, was excellent and plentiful and the seating very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful - in fact one of them kindly recommended local restaurants to us and then booked them for us when we had made our choice” Rosemary, Kingston Upon Thames |

“The hotel was the chosen because it was close to the centre of Colmar and was 80 euros for a double - only 10 euros more than the other two star hotels which were all near rthe railway station. Excellent staff, great location, very comfortable room with airconditioning. Should be 3 star.” Matt, Frankfurt |
