It was cheap!
The kitchen equipment was ridiculous! A huge saucepan with no lid, no kettle, no teacups/coffee cups, no washingup liquid etc. We had no view of the pool, neither direct access to the green area...and the wifi was patchy at best! It was far from the town and the shops so felt quite stuck!
Rooms were comfortable Restaurant food was good Staff were friendly and helpful
Poor management. One of my booked rooms hadn't been allocated, fortunately there was a spare one. Staff were overworked so service in restaurant was erratic.
Lack cooking facilities for self catering accommodation. Breakfast and dinner in the hotel are expensive.
Bedroom was in the loft and the ceiling height was far to low. No kitchen utensils, cuttlery or crockery. Could not even boil water. No AC.
- Good value for money - Lots of space - Kids loved the pool - very helpful staff - beds comfy
- what was provided in terms of cleaning equipment, pots and pans etc is not good. - Difficult to keep clean given the above. - Overall state of cleanliness when we arrived was not brilliant. - Bins outside the room not emptied at all during our two night stay and were over-flowing
*) Opportunity to cycle with the kids from the hotel to both Blois and Amboise using the track of the "Loire a velo". Only the access from the hotel to the starting could be improved (we made a big detour to have safe cycling routes ). *) The introduction to golf for the complete family, even when non of us had any experience in playing golf.
Wifi worked OK for all html related protocols (e.g. website access) but pop and IMAP protocols (for email) did not work out.
Room was excellent although we only had a studio there was plenty of room for 2 teenagers and the two of us. Great swimming pool and grounds, tennis court good too. Restaurant was good although we only ate in there once.
Would have liked to have some cutlery/crockery and some pots. Also a brush for the floor. The no smoking policy needs to be upheld properly as there were people smoking while people were eating.
Dog friendly. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice pool area. Lots of open space, which dog loved. Food good too, enjoyed on nice terrace area by the 18th hole
The hotel - is not main business of this place.
nice location, overlooking the golf meadows. Despite it being a golf hotel, the staff and the atmosphere were very easy-going. Very nice breakfast buffet too.
Reception closes quite early, so make sure you always have your keys with you if you plan to stay out late.
Space balcony. Outdoor simming pool.
No fridge and no WiFi was available in the room.
Location - near to Chaumont for the Gardens. No traffic noise. Spacious bedroom. Friendly & helpful staff
All very last century in the rooms - very poor lighting - had to wait till daylight to route plan on the map. Unreliable wi-fi.Could only open patio door to let air in at night.
What a surprise to come in and see how big the rooms were! There was a spacious downstairs with a kitchenette and a bathroom, bed/sofa, table, and TV. Then, upstairs, there were three generous bedrooms; one with single, one double/queen, and one with two singles, plus another bath and toilet (in separate rooms). There was also a deck with chairs, and a shared backyard that led to the pool. We had a lot of room. The location was also quite nice; nearby there was the town Onzain, which had a lovely pizza place, and across the river was the chateau Chaumont sur Loire, which was also located in a beautiful town. The staff were kind enough to lend us plates, utensils and a pot for cooking. We were there for traveling, not golfing, so can't comment on that.
With all spacious places comes the problem of upkeep, and probably because of size and age, some things like the floor, the stairs, and the kitchenette were a bit worn. Nothing was new, except for the bathrooms, which were very nicely done indeed. If you don't mind a rustic cabin-y feel, then this is a great place for you. It certainly has character, and we enjoyed ourselves.
Met our requirements good value, shame we didn't have time for a game of golf
It was all just okay.
Location, owners and room with patio.
Better facilities at breakfast, including Tea / Coffee machine ( not thermos containers ) and more english selection of teas (not all flavoured)
The restaurant was nice and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The room was spacious and had a ncie terrace.
The room was a wee bit 'old French hotel' - the shower flooded the bathroom and the decor was a bit '70s. But can't really complain
on bikes, very far off the bike path. on a very busy highway so had to take a back way for the bikes. very difficult to get to hotel with bikes. on ground floor couldn't leave window open so hot in room. weird soft wall paper on walls. heard door slamming in hallway all night.
With the hotel, you get access to the outdoor pool, tennis court and small playground. Lots to do with kids.
The description did not match as the studio apartment did not have a terrace. The sofa bed was broken and we had to move room late into the evening and this was mostly inconvenient with young children. However, the staff dealt with the situation efficiently. A good hotel which could be great if it was not slightly run down.
The staff made us feel welcome and were very accomodating! It was a quiet, beautiful retreat from the business of traveling. We would love to go back and stay longer!
