A wonderful hotel in a very picturesque location. The hotel is very carefully designed to integrate all the modern conveniences while while still maintaining the integrity of a lovely old manor house. The situation, staff, excellent food and general ambience of the hotel make it a place that we can't wait to return to. There is so much to see in the area that next time we must stay more than just the one night.

We had a very relaxing stay at Les Magnolias. The breakfast is always very good. You do need a car as it is in a delightful but remote spot.

We absolutely loved Les Magnolias. We were there late Sept with just two other couples - room was beautifully renovated. It was quiet - nothing open - that might be a problem for some. We had our own wine on the terrace in the sun, explored the village - magnificent 7 km car ride down into the town and back up, we had to stop to take photos of the views... the meal was four course but I wouldn't classify it as gourmet, no choice of menu, but what a room they have it in! timber ceiling and fireplace big enough to walk in. With breakfast included this stay was extremely good value.

I can say that we liked everything about the place, if travelling (15mins max) doesn't bother you to reach nearest city, this is a must stay hostel!

the standard fell short of the description and therefore expectations. I could recommend the hostellerie based on a realistic idea of its character and ambitions.

It was peaceful rural retreat which had good service and friendly staff, the food was excellent although limited as a vegetarian, lovely rooms.Parking is a little challenging as there is no dedicated parking and we had to find space in the narrow streets, overall experience was great and would recommend this hotel for adults wanting to relax and explore.

A charming hotel in its village location (church bells!) in beautiful ancient buildings which have been appropriately modernised (excellent shower in pretty bathroom). Our twin bedroom was a little dark, with a glimpse of the church on the hill between village houses, but the thick walls helped to keep the room cool (no aircon, but there was a minibar/fridge). We appreciated the subtleties of the hotel the longer we were there. Pleasant terrace to sit on in the evening, with a glass of wine but we discovered in the morning a lovely pretty little garden, with seats and chaises longues through the breakfast room - we had been welcomed and shown our room with no information about what was available. Free parking on village street. Dinner was a single, reasonably priced set menu with no choice of dishes, which has to be booked ahead, with a la carte available from this set menu. Food was cooked by Madame who seemed to do everything in the hotel herself except waitress, and therefore seemed under considerable pressure, which did mean our evening meal one night was fairly lengthy even though there was a set hour during which to appear for dinner. There was delay of half an hour the same evening for our pre-dinner glass of wine because she was "behind with preparations for the meal", but the food was good when it did arrive. Lovely smiley obliging waitress. [Nb There is nowhere else for an evening meal without driving at least 25 minutes on windy roads, or having steak frites and icecream 'menu formule' at the 'snack bar' in the village.] Hotel breakfast buffet was excellent - with a delicious, generous selection of cheese, bread and pastries, yoghurt and fruit. If you want character in a small village you will have a memorable and enjoyable visit, but possibly for adults rather than children (although there was a high chair in the breakfast room) - perhaps not a place for those in a hurry.

The building itself. It's an old, quirky building that has been tastefully modernised. Even the standard bedroom we had was really pleasant and roomy.

The place was charming, peaceful and beatiful. Rooms were extremely clean. Breakfast was OK. The staff was not accomodating at all, we got there at 8 pm and they would not serve us dinner. Chairs in the garden were not ready to use and the whole staff environment felt stingy. It is a pity that with such a charming place they don't run the place more service oriented and more generously.

The hotel was very pretty and our room was lovely. The staff (we only saw two people in the six days we spent there) are really good and helpful. The lady (might be the owner?) who serves breakfast speaks very good English (she's German) and is very helpful with information about the area. The young lady who serves in the restaurant speaks very good English (she's French) and is lovely to talk to. The breakfast is very good and dinner is even better. Unfortunately, the hotel has seen better days. The garden could be lovely, but needs a gardener! There is a pretty terrace and if it were swept of leaves, etc. it would be a good place to sit and read. The hotel provides some good loungers and chairs, but it doesn't feel inviting enough to relax in.

This is a fine hotel in a quiet village with big rooms. However, you can hear the church bells 24 hours and no aircondition. The price is low when you consider the quality. Five days a week dinner (23 euro) is served and the quality is very good.

Spacious room, modern bathroom, nice decor, internet connection in room worked fine. Stayed for a one night stopover only. Found the bed too hard. That and the church bells meant I didn't have get a decent nights sleep. Some of the rooms are possibly better insulated against the noise than the one I had. Bathroom fan and light combinded with a long time delay for the bathroom fan to turn off. Terrace could be made more inviting with a good tidy tidy up.

We loved the history of the building and the taste of the renovation. We thought Birgit was very pleasant and well organised and we had a very relaxing 3 days. Parking was not a problem for us as it was not in the high season but probably in July and August it may be. Maybe the garden could have been tidier as it was beautiful and being we love gardens we thought it was a shame it was not a little tidier. Birgit seemed always busy so perhaps a gardener would be a good idea to help her.

The room was comfortable with an excellent bathroom (shower only). The included breakfast was very good. Optional dinner was excellent and very good value. The wine list included good wines at very reasonable prices. Although there was no private parking there was no difficulty in securing safe and conveneient on-street parking adjacent to the hotel. There were no realistic alternatives to dinner in the hotel. However we had excellent meals for the three nights that we stayed. Staff shortage precluded the provision of a bar service but the minibar had beer and soft drinks at reasonable prices. Dinner service was somewhat slow but the wait was worth it.

This is a lovely establishment in a quiet village in the countryside. The quality of the hotel and the meals were excellent and the proprietress looked after us very well. This was a very relaxing stopover on our touring holiday and we enjoyed being there very much. Highly recommended.
