It was ideally located as a base for visiting the Verdun battlefield area. The reception staff were not particularly welcoming or friendly to us. The breakfast price of 20 euros per person was excessive & prompted us to take breakfast at a local patisserie/bakery for only 6.50 euros per person. The bathroom equipment was of poor quality & needed updating. Both restaurants at the hotel appeared to be very under patronised & therefore put us off from using them (the popularity of a restaurant normally indicates good food, good service & value for money when you are unfamiliar with an area!).

Location is great. Hotel restaurant is excellent. Great service, friendly staff and very competitive price. Great patisserie around the corner, Cafe Richard, with very good breakfast or just a coffee and pastry.

It has awsome goth-like interior in the lobby and restaurant. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Great food in ajoining restaurant. Slight smell in the lobby. It's an old building. Furnishings in the room were a little old. Overall it was tidy and clean.

We wanted a town based location from which to explore the Verdun battlefields so that we didn't need to drive to dinner in the evenings. The hotel has a brilliant location - really ideal. The decor is moving beyond being charming, to just being very dated. There was a smell as we entered the lobby - a badly mannered dog perhaps? As to be expected with such an old building, the halls wandered and the floors creaked. But overall, we selected for location and were happy for that. It's central to the riverfront restaurants.

Location It's an old hotel which is run down. Our room was small stuffy with no air conditioning. Breakfast at e18 each was over the top. Definitely wouldn't go back

Excellent location. Friendly receptionist in the evening (different receptionist was not so friendly on check out in the morning, but was efficient). Food in new cantina style bistro was ok but overpriced but then you were sat right by the river next to the Fountain – so I suppose you have to pay for the location No nearby free car parking, but could park our motorbikes outside the hotel for free. Breakfast at 18 Euros was too expensive. Bathrooms dated and needed replacing. Room 45 and 46 had no view and looked over kitchens.

Pleasant traditional town centre hotel right by the River Meuse - close to tourist information and local restaurants. Staff were friendy and very helpful. Hotel has a bistro/restaurant attached - good food with attentive waiting staff. Luggage can be dropped off at the hotel but parking seems to be resticted to public parking. There is a large public car park a little further down the river bank around 300m from the hotel.

Good location. Terrible odor in upstairs hallway. Rooms a bit run-down. Front desk staff would not serve after-dinner drinks to a group of friends who wished to sit in the lobby after dinner. She said the bar was closed. As this is not a large or formal establishment, it would have been easy and helpful for her to open the bar and oblige a group of friends who had not seen each other in a long time.

The bistro restaurant served the poorest and most disgusting food we ever tasted. We had to send it back to the kitchen and leave the restaurant and so did other visitors. And this should be France. It was really the worst food we have tasted and we travel all over the world and live in France.

I liked the fact that there were two decent doubles in our family room as well as a couch and table. Very spacious. Lovely corner bath too. There was no shower - apart from a sit down one in the shower. Breakfast was ridiculously expensive, 18€ pp on top of 150€ for one night in the room. We went to a bakery around the corner instead.

Great central location for the town. Lots of good bars and restaurants nearby. Vehicle access to the hotel is difficult, and the garage parking was a few minutes walk away.
