This hotel is in front of Cherbourg Train Station, just 1000 ft from the center of the city. It offers guest rooms with a view of the grounds and free Wi-Fi internet access.
Score from 216 reviews Very good
Ideally situated near central Cherbourg, the hotel is also close to the sea, ferries and the Maupertus Airport.
Score from 175 reviews Good

Friendly staff. Restaurant next door for dinner.
Traffic noise during the night (Friday) Would probably have slept better in a room at the rear of the hotel.
Great value, good breakfast, ample car parking space
Free wifi, TV (English channels too) & free parking. Good location if you have a car to drive the short distance down to Cite De La Mer.
Reception only open until 11am & 5pm - 8pm. (Late check in)
good location and easy parking comfortable room enjoyable breakfast
no tea & coffee making facilities in the room
Not too far from ferry terminal
Poor bed - bouncy and giving bad support and a bad night's sleep.
Good value for money. Not too far from the port which was ideal as we arrived late in the evening and needed somewhere to stay after a long journey before moving on the following day. Clean and tidy
The only negative was that we found both rooms smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke.
1. Availability of staff. 2. Practical location for an overnight stay before being on the road following day. 3. Well served continental breakfast.
For 45.5 Euros don't expect the Ritz but it is clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. Didn't sample the breakfast but the restaurant in the same building is very good.
First impressions form outside but don't be put off.
Good room value, clean. No lift - leave luggage in car in secure free car park.
Front desk closes very nearly too early for later ferry arrivals. Local restaurants closed by nine p.m. (eat down town).
I liked the food and the room. The personnel was also very kind.
I didn't like the fact that on my first day I had to wait for other users of the hotel the open the doors for me since there were no personnel at the moment (Sunday evening).
There is a good resturant next door but you cant just have a drink you have to be eating.
Breakfast could of been better for the money
comfortable beds; good parking
breakfast looked poor; allocated rooms next to each other, whe requested otherwise, and hotel was not full.
The room was comfortable and larger than several Balladin hotels
Had trouble with the wifi. It did not work and the staff said it was probably because many people were using it. I tried all day and night and could not connect at all
value for money
Distance from town centre
Staff friendly and helpful Free parking at rear
Reception not open until 5:30pm (front door locked when arrived at 3:30) Breakfast was a bowl of cereal which cost 8 euro ?? Bed had no support at all ....
Quiet, bed comfortable, cozy
No tea/coffee available except at breakfast
The hotel was adequate. The breakfast was drinks and fresh bread and rolls. If all I wanted was a place to sleep, then this hotel did it.
This hotel required a taxi to get to it from the rail station and a taxi to get from it to the ferry port for the ride to England. Also the hotel was out in a commercial area with no sights to see, no pub nearby to get a drink and a chat, or anything. Another thing is that the stairwells and hallways were dark all of the time with no natural light through windows and no motion detection switches to turn on the lights. I was glad that I had my flashlight with me. I won't be staying here again.
- friendliness - breakfast - comfortable bed
the refrigerator in the bedroom! it was very noisy, cooling all night long, resulting in poor sleeping. this machine was way overdue and should be de-iced or replaced or even better, removed from the room and instead some coffee/tea making option would be nice
When we arrived i was not sure if i had made the right choice, because no staff were there till 1730 hrs but once inside its a bit like an ibis nice clean room and a carpark at the back that was free. breakfast was ok too
Very clean. Helpful staff. It was easier because I speak French and I don't think the reception staff spoke much English. Very courteous at all times and nothing was too much of a problem. There is little to do in the local village, not many restaurants or bars & being August many places were closed due to annual holidays.
Without a car it was quite a distance out of town, too far to walk and taxis are quite expensive especially clocking up extra tariff whilst waiting at the numerous traffic lights. However, there are frequent buses into town , cheap and passing close to the hotel. There is also a long one way system to access the ferry port which increases the taxi fare - but there is no way round this.
- very comfortable - spacious - microwave in the room - clean
- 10 min. outside Cherbourg
noisy bad pillows no cooling
We arrived mid afternoon unaware that reception closed at this time. Also no elevator and no assistance given to get cases to second floor.
Good breakfast and clean rooms
