We didn't know what to expect, being in the middle of a retail estate but Balladins was tucked away in a small green area with trees around and a small courtyard away from the bustle of the main road.The staff were exceptional, so helpful, cordial and spoke very good English.We were really surprised by the room - basic but very clean.The evening meal (a real bonus) and the breakfast were both very good value for money. An excellent budget hotel and really handy for visiting the city of Pau. The rooms were rather small as were the shower rooms, not good for 6' 2" blokes, but we both thought it very good value for just one night.

We travel by car from Spain to UK once a year and normally stay in Pau en route in both directions. We usually stay at a different budget hotel in Lescar, but this year we thought that we would try Balladins for the first time. The price is competitive, the staff are very pleasant and attentive, the rooms are larger and more convenient, there is a shaded area to sit outside and the breakfast is superior although more expensive. It is, however, good to eat off plates in a proper dining room. Overal,l excellent value for money and we shall be returning next year.

Personal very nice Old, broken, dirty walls and floors. Shower broken. Pictures on the hotels must be 20 years old since the room were not renovated in that time frame

Excellent budget hotel located strategically between Pau airport and the Pyreneees. The surroundings are quiet and rustique, but it is very close to an industrial zone which is comfortable to stock up for supplies before hiking the mountains. Quality of the hotel was better than e.g. Formula 1 hotels.

This is our second stay at this particular hotel travelling to the uk and back/ Although its only a 2 star hotel, the reception staff are worthy of 4stars and are an asset to the hotel, nothing is too much trouble for them. Rooms are showing signs of being tired and in need of a makeover but there are positive areas - Shower area very good, comfortable bed there are no tea making facilities available so would be advisable to take your own. Although its a budget hotel there is no need for cobwebs[no extra charge for spiders], the houskeeper should do more thorough checks.

The reception staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, we required extra towels and they were delivered to our room within 10mins. Very good facilities, plenty of places to walk our dog, for a budget hotel it was very comfortable. Certainly recommend it for travelling to and from the UK

La Direction nous a offert les petits-déjeuners, geste commercial très apprécié, pour tous les désagréments du séjour (voir ci-dessous). Problème de réservation, la chambre proposée initialement était déjà occupée. La réception nous a donné une autre chambre mais cette fois problème d'infiltration d'eau et chasse d'eau qui ne fonctionnait pas. Nous avons donc à 23 heures changés une nouvelle fois de chambre. ,

Chambre spacieuse et très confortable. Buffet petit-déjeuner très correct. Température très froide dans la chambre et pas de possibilité de l'augmenter. Attention, du vendredi au dimanche, il faut arriver avant 18h00 ou demander un code d'accès; cela n'est pas mentionné sur le site booking.com ni sur la confirmation de réservation!!!

Vriendelijk onthaal en een goed ontbijt prijs=kwaliteit hotel is aan vernieuwing toe . Bedden zijn wat aan de kleine klant.Tijdens het weekend is het restaurant gesloten.
