Definitely an unfortunate experience. We requested the earliest shuttle, 5:15 am for the following morning. Confirmed with front desk before retiring. Also requested 4:45 wake up call. Neither happened. Fortunately we had a backup alarm set on our cellphone. The morning front desk man knew we were there at 4:45 waiting for the shuttle, but he freed no help, spoke no English, and simply shrugged his shoulders when we realized the van wasn't coming. He finally agreed to call a cab, because now we were at risk of missing our flight. Fortunately we made it in time to the tune of $25 euro, but grateful. We should have spent that on a more upscale hotel with reliable shuttle service, because that's the whole reason for choosing the balladins hotel we did...value, location, free shuttle. Very frustrating.
Very clean, comfortable, minimal and small yet very adequate room and amenities. Great dinner buffet. Picked up at airport by the hotel owner within ten minutes of our request. Thought that was a great sign of choosing the right place to stay.
