Excellent & very friendly service - nothing was too much trouble. Delicious food.

Great parking and pickup/luggage delivery service. The hotel's location is perfect inside the walls and next to the church. Lovely spacious rooms with good amenities, excellent restaurant, grounds and bar - highly recommended.

The localization of the hotel in the medieval city just behind the city walls is magnificent and rooms with their own garden are unforgetable.

The only staff members that could speak English were those behind the reception desk. The others were very kind and eager to help, but communication was rather difficult. The youngest of them should be taught how to make good impression on the gest as they don't smile at all! The furniture looks like needing renovation which shouldn't happen in the five-star hotel. And above all - other hotel gests, especially the noisy and rude Americans. Why there is no information/broshure developed for the gests on how to dress and behave in the hotel restaurant, for example?

Staff needs trainning

Loved the 5 star service including bed turndown, the chocolates on the pillow and the very happy Nathalie who greeted us every morning at breakfast. Our room was beautiful and opened up into the gardens - a magnificent view!

Pity about the weather because the pool area was beautiful but it was just too cold to enjoy it. I'll just have to make another trip in the summer!

having to wait for room to be checked so late booking in, also no tea bags despite this apparent check when replaced during our abscence no milk left. sink plug lifting action broken. Just felt that for cost of stay it was disappointing.

Beautiful luxurious hotel with comfortable rooms, stocked with everything you need, friendly and helpful staff and delicious breakfasts. Stunning location with incredible views x

Room was great and location in the city was fantastic. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Parking and check-in procedures could be clearer given the restricted entry of vehicles to the old city before 7pm.

the staff and rooms are very nice. location the best.very good breakfast,but watch out when you book reservation for dinner. Have some formal clothes packed and don't laugh out loud when they uncover your plate with your meal. just remember this is how the fancy people eat in public, then go back to their room and order room service to fill up, but for the $175 euro, the three of us enjoyed our meal, and I especially enjoyed my potato that was the size and shape of a marble, also remember that no matter how cold it is outside, never put your sweater on, you just drape it over your shoulders.

Meals in the restaurant just far to expensive.

The atmosphere of staying in a castle was great fun. The breakfast was amazing - full of fresh, locally grown fruits. Pastries were excellent. Staff was very friendly. The library bar was relaxing.

We were there on a Friday and the hotel restaurant that had such great reviews was closed. We had wanted to celebrate with a great meal on our last night in France.

We were extremely well looked after: our room was excellent with a beautiful view, and the staff were all charming and helpful. Nathalie in the Saskia restaurant, where we had breakfast, could not have been more helpful. We shall be back!

The only very small comment is that the bathroom (shower and lighting) could do with a slight update.

Location inside the citadel is fanstastic. The hotel ground provide great view, as well hotel room (garden view) provide view over the citadel and the city. The hotel garden is beautiful, the pool look great if it was summer. Breakfast buffet is fantastic, but expensive. The Michelin start restaurant is excellent. The staff service is excellent. Finally face wash.

Difficult to locate the drop off parking outside the citadel. Incovenience of waiting for the bellhop to pick you up and drive inside the city. The rainy weather. The excellent restaurant come with the excellent price, so not for the budget minded. The restaurant need a little refresh.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful from the second we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. They were very patient with our "limited" French and made our children feel welcomed. The restaurant was fantastic and we'll be back for more. The room was massive and overall the hotel was great value for money. Just what we needed after the awful place stayed in before!

Just about everything, for a short stay. It was almost a privilege to share some experience of the enormous history of the cite. Room was beautiful, thanks for upgrade. We will recommend it. Like to read more history of how the restorations done, how the hotel was built , No obvious faults.

Good idea of hotel van transfers from gate to ,minimise taxis and private cars, but the dirt road needs upgrade, bit rough but fun. Perhaps hotel could offer a shuttle bus to the Bastide for post office,banking, but no big issue.

The hotel is in a beautiful location in the Old City of Carcassonne, up above the river with a view over the newer city. The hotel is quiet, with some interesting features; the rooms are well appointed and comfortable; the staff are friendly and helpful

Great location although hard to find. Room was very nice and very clean. I would recommend this hotel. The restaurant at the hotel (dinner only) was very good with great service, although expensive.

Parking difficult. Staff at hotel took a long time to take us back to our car and move the to a secure location. The hotel's location is not ada compliant, being inside a walled city.

The hotel was fantastic and our room which was a superior double also had a fantastic private terrace with comfortable garden furniture. This was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. The staff were beyond helpful. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable and we would have no hesitation in reecommending it. It has to be the best hotel in Carcassonne

We did not have breakfast or dinner at the hotel. Dinner and breakfast we found to be very expensive.

Pretty much everything but above all the ambiance! Being incorporated into this fabulous, medival fortress was an unforgettable treat. We have been visiting France for the last 20 years and have to say that the la Cite Hotel offered us most comfort and relaxation. It's definitely a place to experience during your trip to the South West of France.
