Hôtel De La Plage  

The bathroom and kitchen is very outdated. The bathroom is really horrible as it has no natural light. The living space is compact and dark and when the "couch" / second bed is opened up - ridiculously small. The apartment is fine if the weather is good and you're just sleeping there but as the weather was not that great, the apartment was less than ideal. The only place we could have breakfast was in the bedroom!

A good base for cycling close to a beautiful beach.

The very basic apartment was in theory for 4 people but very cramped even for 2! Badly equipped kitchenette even for the 2 of us and at night the noise from the fairground next door annoying.

Pool was good - clean and warm proximity to beach was excellent Man on reception was friendly

Room was dirty - very dusty and bathroom shower had mould on. Beds and bedding were old and tatty. Bathroom needed upgrading. Theere was a constant smell of toilets from the drains.. Towels were not changed during our stay except on one day when I asked for this.

It was near to where our friends were staying.

The staff were the rudest most unhelpful people i've ever come across in all my years of travelling. They did not bother to induct us into our room - hence we knew nothing of the back door facilities after 8pm which was totally unlit, and nor anything about checking out. Our shower door was off its hinges and eventually came off. We had an empty soap dispenser and little loo roll. Breakfast we learnt had to be booked 1 day in advance after we tried to sit for breakfast. They could have told us this when we checked in. Any question we asked was met by rude grumbles that was actually laughable. And not confined to the one miserable man - but the weekend woman too. Ghastly. Will absolutely never recommend it. Quite the opposite. I shall enjoy telling anyone how hideous it was. And nowhere in their brochure do they mention thier location next to the fairground!

Excellent location, just a minute from the beach. La Couarde, and the Ile de Re, are beautiful.

Very expensive for what was provided. Apartment was v. small; tiny kitchenette; not enough towels or pillows. They didn't clean the room for us but also they didn't provide cleaning products so we had to buy our own cleaners, toilet rolls, bin bags etc. Staff not very friendly or helpful - we had to ask several times before they conceded to change our towels half-way through the week.

Location to the beach was very impressive and there was adequate car parking space. Outside the pool was lovely and great to splash around with the kids in it.

From the outside of the hotel on the road approaching, you do wonder what you've booked. However, on entering the car park, the hotel is presented very well. The bedrooms are very small and the bed was very uncomfortable - a very hard mattress resulted in three nights very poor sleep. The bedroom was only cleaned once during our three nights stay, which for 100 euro plus a night hotel thought was poor. Te breakfast was also a rip off as well - 9 euros for a pastry was not great.

The location is excellent. La Couarde is a great village and the hotel is very close to the beach.

Although this is billed as a hotel it is really self catering - rooms aren't cleaned and beds aren't changed during the week. When the weather turned bad staff were not properly prepared and didn't seem to recognise that they needed to adapt, for eaxmple by allowing the the dining room to be used for games.

The best thing about the hotel is that it is literally a 2 minute walk to the most spectacular beach. We had a lovely apartment (no 10) at the far end of the complex which comfortably housed the 3 of us. I loved the fact that we had a little private terrace with picnic table and chairs. It was quieter than the other apartments as it was right at the end and hence no one had to walk past it to get to their rooms. There was a pristine small swimming pool and the breakfast and reception area were very attractive.

It has a good location , swimming pool area good as is car parking.

It is located next to a skate board perkAt the front of the hotel there is a Fair ground with many rusting vehicles.The entrance to the hotel is not that good.While on the whole it is good it is a little bit tired i.e. it requires re decoration and a bit of tidying up.

appartements vieillissants, assez chers pour la qualité de service (en règle générale, l'île de ré c'est cher), manque d'entretien, appartements mal équipés

Le personnel est très accueillant, serviable et accommodant. Il y a toujours eu quelqu'un quand j'avais besoin d' une présence (je suis arrivée en dehors des heures d'ouverture par exemple). Je pense y retourner une prochaine fois.

Cet hôtel est vraiment à recommander pour les familles ,à notre disposition des petits appartements duplex ,avec une piscine et la plage à nos pieds et tout cela avec un accueil performant un rapport qualité prix sans reproche !

éVentuellement le prix du petit déjeuner bien que très copieux
