Hôtel De La Poste    

This was our second stay at the hotel.Staff very accommodating. They changed our room to a modern one, not the "charm" room, which we appreciated. Food in dining room was excellent. The hotel was walking distance to the city center.

Didn't like that there was no escalator to room and had to go outside to get to room and limb steps as we ad a lot of luggage once in room it was very nice though

Beaune is a lovely, old city to visit and Hotel de la Poste is in easy walking distance of everything. In addition, being in heart of Burgundy, it is delightful to drive through the beautiful countryside and visit the vineyards and historic sights. We arrived before check-in and the staff was very accommodating, also when we stored our luggage before leaving.

Great location to visit Beaune

Service a bit variable. For example we tried to get an aperitif in the bar and despite several staff walking pass and presumably noticed there was no bar staff - nobody turned up so we just gave up. Meals were expensive but very good. I would describe the service as stuffy rather than good. When you present the food don't just repeat what we have already read on the menu - talk about the food as though you are proud of it and not just going through the motions.

We booked a suite (with "panoramic views"). There was no bath, only a shower which a) I had specifically requested and b) suite's have baths usually). Two very small windows, one opening up to the busy road at the front and the other overlooking the cooling towers of a factory at the back. The air conditioning had been switched off for winter - necessitating keeping the two windows open. Between the roar from the factory cooling towers form one window and the traffic noise from the other sleep was difficult. Maybe is was just a duff room, but for a spend of over €300 for the night it was pretty unimpressive.

Location in Beaune was perfect. Staff was friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Lounge area was comfortable and inviting. Having our name on our parking space (although we did pay 12 Euros for the paper sign...)

Location and parking was good. Room was average but the batchroom was very small.

We felt that we have been grossly mislead by the description of the Classic room. The receptionist finally admitted that it was incorrect, but the only offer to correct was another room for which they would have charged us extra. The following were promised: a panoramic view, a seating area , sofa, slippers. The view was the kitchen roof, seating area was one plastic chair, no sofa and no slippers. They have not changed the description on the website. The batchroom was so small that my husband had to open the door to stretch his arm out. The strategically placed mirrors are ony an illusion of space as are the promised features.

The Hotel is very clean, and staff are very helpful and friendly. The room is spacious and bathroom newly renovated and luxurious.

The Hotel was situated in an excellent postion within 5 mins walking into the walled center with a pretty courtyard garden at the rear and parking .The accommodation was very comforatble and our room newley decorated in modern simple style but good quality and excellent modern bathroom.The food in the main resteraunt was superb but the most noticable aspect was the outstanding friendly and helpful staff and we will certainly revisit when returning to Beaune. A great find.
