Excellent bed in a very pleasant room. The evening meal was first class and the breakfast excellent.
It was an historic town and we were looking to have a stopover from our journey back to the UK and a hotel to take our dog. Enjoyed the town, particularly the cathedral, and a good supper the night previous. The hotel was comfortable and agreably laid out.
There was noise coming from the room above us which prompted us to contact reception. It was dealt with promptly.
The food, the welcoming staff, the ambience and the comfortable room.
Quality all round, extremely helpful staff and an excellent bar & restaurant. Very comfortable room, & bathroom, with tea & coffee making facilities in room. They have paid great attention to every detail.
The reception staff were very helpful and polite both on checking in and checking out. The bistro food and staff were excellent. It is our second stay at the Monarque and we will be back
The location, the comfort, and as before we will return
Before booking my wife telephoned to clarify the "parking on site" as we had a car full of Christmas presents. She was told that all we had to do was arrive and they would unload the car and park it for us. On arrival - they forgot to mention the hotel is on a one way system and that the only parking outside is a busy bus lane, we were told that there was no one to help and to bring our cases in, it was raining. We asked again and got some help. The "parking on site" is in fact an unattended lot 200 metres away. It took me two attempts to find it in the dark and rain. So by the time we got to the room I was wet and 45 minutes had passed. The hotel waived the €8 parking charge and upgraded the room, but after a 7 hour journey this was a disasterous start to the stay. We had booked dinner in the Brasserie. First we were offered a table by the service entrance at the end of a corridor or a low table with sofa chairs. Then the choice of two tables at the beginning of the corridor. Eventually we got a table in the actual Brasserie - but next to the entrance door. Frequent people brushing by, a precious Maitre'D, haphazard service didn't help so we cancelled our return stay at the hotel. Its not fair to boast "parking on site" when it isn't, or valet parking when arriving at 5.30 pm there isn't anybody on duty, nor to sit hotel guests who booked some weeks ago at what were clearly the worst tables in teh Brasserie.
the location is fantastic and they will do valet parking which is excellent after a long drive. The hotel is beautiful. The better rooms are certainly better. Have stayed in upmarket and economy- whole experience FAR better for not much more in better rooms.
Second time I an economy room- still really good but would pay the extra to get the brilliant room again.
We have stayed at this hotel before and when we arrived on this visit we were remembered by name. The Staff are extremely efficient, very helpful, the breakfast is well organised and excellent. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Service, quality of the estabishment, attention, sense of service, attention to the customer, quality OLD SCHOOL, etc... I will be back. count on that ! Euro per euro one of the best hotels of France!
Cost of a Chivas with mineral water from the minibar. Cost of breakfast.
My Grandson and I were immediately made to fill special upon our arrival. That was lovely after a long train ride. Our room was delightful!
Beautiful bathroom Comfortable bed Friendly staff
Carpark was a bit of a walk
all the staff
when I rang to book for a car parking space, I was not asked if I wanted to eat at the hotel. We arrived to find the Michelin star restaurant fully booked, and only just space in the Brasserie. Which turned out to be fine, but annoyed.
It was a very good journey. The staff is kind and the room very confortable. I will try to repeat with no doubt.
Nothing was too much trouble for the attentive and fruendly staff. We didn't stay for breakfast but it looked lovely
The location was superb, the food and amenities were excellent and best of all the staff were wonderful.
Stylish decor, lovely ambience, great location, fantastic staff. Highly recommend. Arrived by car and hotel very helpful to arrange parking of our car.
Location, beauty of the place, staff, room.
Wifi was irritating - had to re-log in continually making work difficult. Parking was far away and adventurous. Food in Brasserie was poor.
Central location. Breakfast buffet very good. Very comfortable large bed.
Because we were leaving early we had to carry our luggage back to the private hotel car park without assistance. Car park about 300m from the hotel.
Comfortable and well decorated and maintained Excellent bar and restaurant Lively and busy but not noisy Friendly, attentive, well trained staff We have stayed three times in the last 12 months and will return
Parking to unload is not easy but after that you can park either in the hotels car park or a nearby underground car park
Our room was next to the lft shaft and the lift was old & noisy which disturbed our sleep. I informed the staff when I checked out but no compensation was forthcoming
The service was outstanding. After a stressful drive from Paris through the traffic of Chartres, it was a joy to meet the staff who did not feel a tip was necessary to park our car. "Your smile is enough of a reward." The hotel's restaurant had an excellent selection and the food was superb. It served probably one of the best meals we had while traveling through Normandy. I would return to this hotel without question. It was within walking distance to the Cathedral and was quiet at night.
The WiFi was not working when we were there. However, the staff was more than accommodating to book reservations in the next town we planned to visit.
The location, the classical entrance, and the sumptuous bkfst buffet. The quality of the ingredients, farm fresh, was just incredible, and the bread? Yummy!
The smallest room and bath seen in a longtime. We were told room 126 is an exception, I hope it is... When you sit on the toilet, you have to do it sideways, as your knees hit the opposite wall!!!
Friendly service Food for dinner - especially the mushroom and chestnut soup! Decor Very good value secure valet parking
Monday breakfast was not too good The lift is very small and slow
Very friendly and extremely helpful staff, great restaurant, perfect location, very nice little town and environment
