Close proximity to town
Car was in secure car park but 200 mtrs away up side road which wasn't good if you needed something.
First we loved the location - right next to tourist quarter. Room was exceptionally comfortable - a huge and very comfortable bed; sofa. Helpful staff, even parked our car for us. Overall ambience was very pleasing
Easy to book, centrally located, OK rooms, clean, secure
Difficult to drive to involving turning into a side-street and doing a U-turn to get to the doors Having to carry luggage up a short flight of stairs to get to Reception Poor temperature control if you can't open the windows (it was raining the first night I was there and I suffocated) Horrible corridors - like out of a Cohen Brothers movie
Location, quality of premises and excellent staff, food was great too.
Room was a bit stuffy but had a fan so all in all no problem
We found all staff courteous and helpful Food excellent Pleasant ambiance. Both enjoyed our stay both on way out and returning from our destination
The staff was very attentive and immediately receptive for feedback. I guess I was lucky to be in a (recently?) renovated standard room with quite a bit of space, which I was positively surprised, especially in comparison to the size of the deluxe room my friends had.
Having to sign in to the WiFi every time and even multiple times when in the room was annoying. Bed head piece and other ledges were obviously dusty, as well as the vent in the bathroom. Small detail but if it's that obvious, it needs attention. Having to pay extra for the pool/spa is a turn-off.
We chose Chartres as a convent night stopover en route to Southern France. The town is interesting with lots of little bars and restaurants. In the evening there is a light display on many of the buildings in the town centre which was interesting. The hotel was clean and quiet with attentive staff.
The only downside is that the hotel has no parking even for unloading bags. You are directed to an underground public car park across the street. To get to this car park can be a little awkward as there is a one way traffic system and there was quite a lot of traffic.
Enjoyable stay and hassle free
This hotel is lovely. It is right in the centre of Chartres, so you are able to walk to all the shops, bars and restaurants. Our room was spacious, with a huge comfortable bed, lovely big bathroom and beautifully decorated. There was only one problem, our room (300) was right next to the lift and it vibrated a bit when it was used, but it wasn't noisy. We didn't eat in the restaurant although it did look lovely, we decided to walk in to the centre and go to one of the many restaurants there. We would definitely stay here again
Breakfast was 15euros which we thought was a bit expensive, so we walked a cross the road and had breakfast in the centre.
Friendly and helpful staff, high quality restaurant
choice of food, quality of food in brasserie
Breakfast was lovely and the coffee both at breakfast and when ordered separately during the morning was the best we'd had in France (including those pots we had made ourselves!) The cathedral and the son et luminere were an unexpected pleasure.
Rather a long trek to our room and somewhat small lift.
Our room was lovely and breakfast was wonderful such a lot of choice
The shower wasn't very good
Everything. Especially the Restaurant
There was nothing that we did not like
Old style hotel. Breakfast expensive but very good variety. Tea and coffee facilities in bedroom
No view from bedroom window.
Lovely hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, spotlessly queen. Great food. Fantastic stopover on our way home. Will definitely stay again.
We first visited Chartres 18 years ago as a young couple in love but couldnt afford to stay here. Therefore, this trip (even with our 14 year old son! )was a delight. Especially the excellent meal in the restaurant, shopping and location close to cathedral, the evening "Sonne et lummiere" was mesmerising...
Our stay was too short...
the staff was kind enough. I liked that it was an easy walk to Chartres especially at night after the fabulous light show. It had a spa I didn't get to see, I bet it was nice, should have carved more time to be in Chartres so I could have availed myself. Bathroom was nice in my room. Pillows were good too.
seemed a bit tired, not exhausted but tired. My room, albeit comfortable, had a crummy view out the back. The spa cost 15 Euro per person per day. My one drink at the bar was very costly, tasty but expensive.
The bed was lovely. Lots of hot water. Friendly staff
Paying extra for breakfast and use of the spa. It would be a good idea to offer an all inclusive price.
location, relaxed bar, clean room, comfortable beds, wifi access and good breakfast
Staff are outstanding and cannot do enough particularly Frederick. Hotel is beautifully presented. Room (103) was just superb. Faultless - we will be returning again.
Very central and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Dark room with smell of cigarettes.
Excellent Hotel in a great location, large room, tastefully decorated & very helpful staff. Unfortunately we only stayed one night & didn't try the restaurant so can't comment.
Free wifi didn't work in our room.
The hotel was in a good location
The hotel was slightly tired and dated.
