Not so fat away from closest Metro Station. Clean but comfort was terrible. I do not recommend it for couples for an "romantic Paris visit".
Lack of quilt, not even blanket. I had to sleep covered by something more like curtain and it was cold a bit (I am not a person who gets cold easily - I walk in T-Shirts when its about 17 C degrees...) Poor internet connection. I used my data plan abroad...
All the services , no heater
Location was walking distance from my work office in La Defense. Very friendly staff. Good room #123 - Surprisingly large for Paris and for the Price.
Wi Fi was not working these days due to damage caused by construction in the area. Hotel should have had backup wireless phone operation. Hope they have fixed it by now.
Dirty, old, dark...
All the staff were absolutely lovely, very helpful. The cleaners did a very good job within their possibilities, because the mould in the bathroom and the carpet in the room were, I assume, impossible to clean. The rooms are spacious and it's a 3 to5 minute walk to the RER station, nextcto which there is a supermarket. No noise from other rooms this time, but of course the hotel was half empty... A couple of bars and restaurants right next to the hotel. Only a 20 min walk to la Defense, Universite de Nanterre and Nanterre centre. Good heating.
The noise from the street (traffic) kept us wide awake till 12 at night and after 5 am...no double glazing, echo...it felt like being right above an airport runway. The carpet was alarmingly old and dirty, fortunately we had our slippers... Dark shower with mould between the tiles... uncomfortable beds and awful itchy blankets, the heating was very effective so we tried removing them and hence finally managed to get some sleep. Extremely ugly area... the wardrobes: big but so shabby and dirty that we kept our things inthe suitcase. Non smoking rooms but strong smell of tobacco everywhere. Doors that close from the outside obly Iif you bang them so if more rooms had been occupied... overall, extremely uncomfortable and almost impossible to get any sleep. We are used to very chesp hotels, but this was a downright depressing and exhausting experience. I was in Nanterre for 4 days of exams and towards the end of our stay waw too exhausted to know what I was writing or saying anymore...as per my husband who had come with me, he preferred coming with me to the uni and waiting anywhere there rather than staying in the hotel during the day or going for a walk in those unpleasant surroundings.
Avoid if possible, the showers don't work, the place always smelled. Carpets are dirty. The area is ok...although from what I hear is dangerous at night. The hotel was booked because it was only a 15min walk too my office. Although paying an extra 10 a night I wish I should have done...:
no lift causing backache lifting bag 2 floors to reception slow wifi unfriendly staff lousy room no lights in shower area
climbing two sets of stairs to get to the reception
