We stayed in the Suite Mathurin which offered good comfort. Staff is well trained and friendly. Location of hotel is very good.Terrace of suite is unique for hotel in Paris. There is no TV in the bedroom and while the bathroom is spacious and well equiped, it isn't very practical. There is nothing to put your toiletry and other stuff on. Staff told us that our booked suite wasn't available because of technical problems and asked us if we were prepared to take another room. We told them that wasn't an option and by magic an hour later the technical problem was fixed.

Our stay in Le Mathurin was great! The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly overall. The Deluxe Room was still small, but cozy, beautifully decorated as the rest of the hotel, I felt at home, peacefull and confortable (a must in the checklist after a long day out). The view from our room was quite nice if you enjoy the typical Haussmann building style. The continental breakfast was very good considering the food choices, service, and unlimited serves. The location was perfect, close enough to museums (a 15 min walk to the Louvre), shopping facilities, etc. We loved, loved the compliments from the Hotel: daily Leduree chocolates/candy accompanied by the weather report and a one time good quality champagne and candy on New Year's Eve. The downside of our stay in Le mathurin was that the Deluxe Room was not as clean as expected for a Deluxe Room. We find that as the days progressed (our stay was 17 days total) the quality standard in the cleaning service decreased from very good to fair. Another negative side was that even though we reported it, the international cable tv (the national and international cable in the tv lounge area worked fine) in the bedroom did not work during our entire stay.

The mattress was very soft and comfortable. Probably one of the best mattress that I had slept on in a hotel. I wanted them to give me the name of the mattress so I could buy one! The design of the hotel was also interesting and the location was great! Central but on a side street so it wasn't noisy. Before I checked into the hotel I had had a very bad customer service experience; so I wary of the hotel and decided that I had to keep an open mind and not let my initial impressions ruin my judgement/experience at the Hotel. To start with, the room and the bed were very small. My feet were hanging outside of the bed. I am 192 metres (6ft 2’’) so anyone over 180metres will probably struggle. The bathroom was dirty and the shower was broken. The instructions for the shower were completely wrong and the hot water wasn't working properly, either. The hotel service was generally not great! Yes, they smiled and got your luggage around smoothly but the information they provide is minimal, at best! For instance, in my case, they weren't terribly helpful when I asked about Roland Garros. They could have told me a bit more about ticketing and getting there, etc. I was surprised that the internet service in the room as well as the computer in the Business centre was not working. For what I paid it was astonishing, the generally poor quality I received. I, actually, got a lower level of room than what I paid for. Honestly, I got a terrible deal with this place and would be reluctant to recommend it. Just look around a little bit; there are cheaper places with far superior quality in Paris.

This hotel is far too high ranked at the booking.com site, although the facilites are above average for Paris (I visited more than 20 hotels in Paris the last 16 months). However the management is poor, and narrow mind. Frustrating example is that they charge 10 euros extra for 5 gram of eggs during the breakfast. That feels very uncomfortable; the feeling is that they only run for your money, rather than that you feel being important as customer. The staff is not allowed to act on any subject, they only keep referring to the management rules. New managment would help this hotel to reach the status of a nice hotel. For the 10 euro's too much for the breakfast I will not book this 300 euro hotel per night any more....it does not feel good

I like pretty much everything about this hotel: its location, facilities, service and its small but cozy spa. I am a return customer of this hotel. During my last visit, as usual, the personnel were friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit small but very well decorated and very comfortable. The price is good for the hotel of this type in the centre of Paris. I am coming back to this hotel again, no doubt about it.

Delightfully decorated small independent hotel. Excellent staff. Wonderful small lounges for drinks or tea & coffee. Great newspaper, magazine & book supply for relaxing time out from hectic sightseeing & very close to shopping, Opera House & metro. Close to reasonably priced cafes & LaFayette food hall. Rooms & bathrooms small but well appointed & comfortable. We also had a balcony which was great for a drink or snack. Would definitely go back. Bathrooms are quite small in comparison to Asian standards but adequate.

The hotel's slogan 'le luxe d'etre chez soi' is to a certain degree appropriate: nice, peaceful, small scaled place with intimate salons. Good to return to after a busy Parisian day. Staff were neither easy going, nor formal which led more than once to awkwardness...

Excellent designs utilizing small spaces. Great accommodating, highly professional staff. Very romantic and comfortable Breakfast wasn't included. It was additional 27 euros per person. Though it was priced lower than many hotels, it is also smaller (which they do well) and less strategically placed for tourism. But if you want a little more intimacy, this place works. Hotels are expensive in Paris and this one is no exception

Got a good deal in terms of price, payed much more for far worse hotels in the area. The single room was nog the biggest, but conveniently layed out and finished to a very high standard.

Nicely stylish, but retaining a comfortable, cosy atmosphere. Pleasantly central, but quiet as it is not on a main street. Surprisingly good facilities for such a small hotel. We use it regularly and find the staff friendly but professional.

Three aspects stand out for me: (1) room design - spacious, well appointed and decorated with a very appealing contemporary Parisian theme (2) the friendly and very helpful staff (3) the location - close to shopping, landmarks, metro, etc. There was nothing I didn't like - plan to return next time I'm in Paris.

Staff's hospitability and friendliness Room service was awful, very limited range of food and all food are cold and only available for certain hours. They need to improve on their room service and have an in-house chef.

We really enjoyed our stay at Le Mathurin, the hotel was very close to the shopping district, restaurants, and not a far walk at all from the 1st arrondissement with its many historical districts. The hotel rooms, while small, where very nice and the beds very comfortable. Not many english channels, but that wasn't important to us at all! The staff was good about helping us get reservations for places when we needed them and the hotel is located in a safe, but quiet neighborhood at night.
