Nice luxury hotel Superb location Private parking
Cost of breakfast
As a converted manor house L'Ecrin has real character and is tucked away from the busting streets of Honfleur but is only a few minutes' walk from the harbour and the countless excellent restaurants. The staff could not have been more friendly - from beginning to end - with very helpful recommendations on places to eat. Breakfast was really good and served in a conservatory overlooking the garden.
We arrived on a bank holiday so the streets were packed and if we hadn't have had a sat-nav we would have had to concentrate to find it up the narrow streets. But this is a minor point because overall L'Ecrin is a gem.
The room was stunning -- huge, lovely luxurious shower in the bathroom. The staff could not have been nicer, and the breakfasts were very good.
Very nice welcome from the charming man from Thailand. The hotel is close to the historic port and the sights, yet is very quiet and the main house, where our room was located, was beautifully furnished and filled with fresh flowers.
Nothing....except the weather!!!
Great location, friendly staff, free parking.
Old-fashioned bedding - crisp white linen should be a must.
Staff very hospitable and went out of their way to be helpful in pointing out sites of interest ,
The decor of the salons and the grassy back yard.
The desk staff seemed indifferent to providing help with reasonable requests.
The welcome. Breakfast.
- To repeat again: royal parking facilities in the center of a typical French city with tiny roads 1.5-car-wide. - Room was nice and clean - Wifi worked fine, although a bit slow - Minibar had all essentials (juice, water, beer) for reasonable price - At the reception they had a map of the city with the list of recommended restaurants and they immediately made a reservation for us at one of the restaurants - Rooms seem to be extra sound-isolated by using a traditional textile wallpaper with underlayer - Lovely breakfast room facing garden
Some small details that can be improved - "cook egg yourself" experience during breakfast: myself and at least 3 more guests did not really get the concept and were breaking raw eggs assuming they were cooked already.. only later I realized that there was an egg-cooking machine.. A simple note next to the plate with eggs would solve the issue.. But better: just serve them cooked. I think majority of people will accept that eggs are available only hard-cooked. - lack of vegetables during breakfast (or I missed simple cucumber / tomatoes ?) - In order to get Wifi you need to ask at reception login/pass for each (!!) device you plan to use. I find it a bit overcomplicated and also would expect to receive credentials, not having to ask - Breakfast is not included in the price, making the total package quite pricey even with cheapest room they have (above 150 euros)
The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The hotel is 3 blocks from the city square but the return trip is uphill and elderly or disabled may have some trouble with it. The room was clean and well furnished. The bed was comfortable and parking was very close to the room. The common areas of the hotel were nicely furnished. The breakfast room is a garden type room with beautiful flowers on all glass walls. This was the highlight of the hotel in our opinion. The food was good, but not terrific. If you can walk a few hills, this is the place for you.
It was good to have parking at the hotel and only a short walk to the harbour / town. The hotel was built in the 18th century and is very stylish with lots of antique furniture and fixtures - very unexpected. There are also lovely gardens. Staff were very helpful.
Inspite of having a WiFi code it was impossible to log on which was disappointing.
Situation and parking. Comfortable bed and clean room. Public rooms like a country house stuffed with paintings and interesting objects.
expensive breakfast which we didn't try.
Great location easily accessed by car and 2 blocks walk to the historic Harbour. Free parking and WiFi. Comfortable, updated room with old world furnishings and charm, great view of city from 3 rd floor. Lovely back garden space for guest use to relax.
The price for the optional breakfast which we did not partake of.
Spacious courtyard room (16) with free parking right outside and only 10 mins walk to town. Helpful staff (especially Nam). Breakfast good but quite expensive. Amazing mix of antiques and art; pleasant garden - has to be seen to be believed.
Location, parking, friendly staff, very nice comfortable hotel.
Bar not open (but there is a mini bar in room) and no tea/coffee facilities in room.
Would like a coffee and croissant for breakfast
Everything was good! they have a parking area which is good if you drive to Honfleur. the hotel is really nice, rooms are clean, the staff is lovely. its quite. Great location! I definitely recommend it and we will go back there again for sure!
Everything was allright for the price, very good location, private parking, very good breakfast with hot croissants and the staff serving the breakfast was very friendly. The room is clean, without noise, the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is ok;
In the fridge we find a bottle of still water, full but still opened!
Wonderful service, always with a smile. Parking is a plus. We had 2 of the least expensive rooms. Ours was nice with wonderful bathroom. Our friend's room was small with very small bathroom. We were on top floor, a hike upstairs, but it was fine.
L'Ecrin is a fairly short walk to the center. Might have been nice to stay right in the city center but the parking can be an issue there.
Breakfast was great, facilities were very nice.
I have a bad hip and it was a 15+ minute walk to the main square.
Traveling around France in my own, the hotel net my needs very well. It is, however, a very romantic spot, with gardens, a spa, and a quiet location. Honfleur can be heavily traveled on the weekends and this is a quiet oasis.
Internet access isn't perfect... OK by me!
Main house, room in 2nd building, free available parking. Great bathroom and firm mattress.
Breakfast cost of 15 euro seemed high for offerings. Walked into the port area for a croissant breakfast on the harbor.
1)Breakfast. 2) we could walk to town 3) historic building 4) car parking easy
1). Had to carry our bags up 2 steep flights to attic. 2) some staff not very friendly 3) room needed updating. Bedding shabby 4)staff not around to ask about restaurants for dinner
