The room was lovely with lots of character and a bath big enough to relax in!!
I know that tea and coffee making facilities are a rarity in France, but as there is no bar or anywhere to get a drink in the hotel, this would have been welcome. The breakfast seemed a little tired (not sure how old the fruit or cheese was. However this would not stop us staying here in the future, we would just eat breakfast elsewhere!
quiet, friendly staff,parking,
rooms to small,no shower,no restaurant, breakfast not very good and very expensive.
The staff at the hotel was impeccable. The building was charming and the breakfast buffet worth it.
It was more than we typically pay for a room but it was a worthwhile splurge.
Nice looking building, room looked good, parking was good
No tea making facility in the room, dark hair found on the clean! Pillow. Shower design very poor, floor gets soaked, loose wall fitting.
Really close to the town centre and onsite parking. Very friendly and hospitable staff.
The decor made the hotel appear a little cluttered and quite dark, which wasnt to my taste.
The staff at Hotel L'Ecrin were incredibly welcoming and delivered a standard of care and service that we don't come across often enough. Although the breakfast is fairly dear what you get is definitely worth it. In addition to the usual continental choices, we had freshly squeezed orange juice, and the bread and pastries were constantly replaced with hot, freshly baked items. The service was lovely, a close attention to your needs without it ever feeling intrusive. Our room was on the top floor and although it was a very steep staircase, our bag was carried up for us. The room itself was full of character. We had a huge bed a lovley en-suite shower room. The water pressure was good and the hot water plentiful. We had views across the roof tops of Honfleur from our bedroom window. Great thought had been given to the WIFI strength, with boosters on each floor to ensure good coverage, which is often lacking in such an old building. We also used the swimming pool during our stay. This was a well kept area with changing rooms, plenty of fresh towels and safety gates for families travelling with children. I would certainly stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to others.
We had a very warm welcome on arrival. The hotel is well sited for visiting Honfleur. Our room was very comfortable and quite. There was on site parking which is a bonas for the town. Beautiful Hotel really old world France full of character and charm.
A wonderfully quirky hotel with charming staff, and a lovely view over Honfleur from the room. The reception rooms were splendidly furnished. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice.
Kitchen area dirty, and no detergent or cloth to clean it.
Beautiful building, gardens and location. Stayed in a superior room which I would grade as 5*. Would highly recommend
Loved the granduer of the place, and the parking was a massive bonus too. Beautiful old house style hotel with attentive receptionist
Wifi was poor on top floor
Holes in sheet on main bed
Pool Character of the hotel
Fabulous quirky hotel. Peaceful and relaxing. Staff extremely helpful.
The hotel was close to the town and was charming with a lovely garden. The staff were friendly and they could not do enough to make our stay anymore memorable. The rooms were spacious, well equipped and comfortable.
nothing negative to comment on.
Friendly staff Perfect location near to centre Beautiful building with lots of character
Soft bed Poor wifi connection
Location, quality of rooms, facilities.
Breakfast too expensive. Spa a little expensive.
The fact that it was a traditional French Hotel, probably once a Manor House but with moern amentities done with style and taste. The gardens were lovely with plenty of seatiing, and the heated outdoor swimming pool in the Courtyard, was delightful. All, this but only a couple of minutes walk to the heart of Honfleur. It's location was very peaceful and quiet, just the place to relax after doing the sights of Honfleur.
The stairs to the top floor rooms in the House, although, it would probably be, not be too much trouble to locate to the rooms in tastefully designed annexe.
We loved everything!!! I use a cane and was immediately changed to a room downstairs. The staff were professional, thoughtful, kind and helpful. The beautiful common areas (there are many) pool, solarium, reception, magnificent gardens and so on. Free parking, free wifi. A really great place to stay!!!!
Breakfast very good.nice clean pool.Nice gardens around hotel
No help with bags on leaving hotel.Offhand attitude on checking out.Air con not cold enough in room. Clothes hanging space downstairs in lounge (room 34.)Not enough storage upstairs for clothes,so lived out of suitcase.
Visually gorgeous, service was excellent, location quiet and walkable, and even parking was available. the grounds are so very pretty. Room 8 was a great one in terms of color, view out the bathroom window of Honfleur and quiet. I am allergic to mold and this room seemed better than many in France. The bathroom was generous in size and there were places to put your things down. An nicely finished, old bureau gave a touch of class. Others enjoyed the pool, but I was out seeing the town.
Just wish every hotel would put in wood floors or new carpet because I have allergies. But that is my ongoing problem, most people are not as allergic. I would still come to this hotel again without any hesitation!
English speaking Secure free car parking
No tea or coffee making facilities in room. Room service for two teas very expensive as was cost for breakfast. Most rooms are located outside of main hotel building.
This hotel is an absolute gem! Having its own car park. Great to walk the short distance into the town. Has a beautiful swimming pool too. Great conservatory for breakfast. My only regret - wished we had stayed longer
Poor wifi connection.
This is a true gem of an hotel . An eclectic mix of buildings and room styles that has fascinating little nooks and items from the Arabic busts in the hall to the garden furniture. We spent two nights and enjoyed the peaceful location close to the centre of town . The staff were helpful above and beyond the call . The breakfast room was a lovely place to start the day and the pool area a place to relax in peace .
Breakfast quality & service Courteous & helpful staff Lovely period furnishings to common areas Swimming pool area & Gardens
Poor wi-fi connection No Air-con in room "Not cheap"
