Friendly and helpful personal boiler in the room with a choice of teas
the bed was very small and not very confortable (sinking in the middle) the bathroom has a transparent door: no privacy on the toilets! shower (for disabled persons) not practical almost no possibility to hang or lay belongings in the bathroom not a single chair in the room old-fashioned style
the staff and the WiFi when I check in, it was found that the WiFi was not available and called to the reception, and they said it would be better one moment. but in fact, they did nothing for it and of course the WiFi did not work yet. For this reason, i talked with the staff and wanted to check out, but she said you must pay all the money included the hotel fee of the next day. it was really crazy..... so i had to stay till next day without WiFi....
We had booked a superior room, but we have been upgraded and got a room deluxe at Hotel Ettenheim (****) just next to Cerf d'Or. The room was outstanding! The location of both hotels is excellent: Quiet and only 5 minutes to the cathedral and the city center.
Due to work-related reasons Breakfast should started earlier
A great location - within walking distance of the cathedral. The breakfast was good but a bit pricey (10 Euro per person per day)
The cleaning staff were quite pushy and attempted to eject me from the room one morning.
The Cerf d' Or was very centrally located, very comfortable and staff very friendly.
Room on front of hotel with view over street. Helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and evening meal.
Final bill higher than booking.com figure. Think we were put in a more expensive room than that booked. Resolved amicably with reception staff
Perfect location, in center of Strasbourg
very close to the old town, to the cathedral and to the canal, with very friendly staff. We had a room in the newer part of the hotel (as opposed to the older part of the hotel, which is in a traditional ancient house and - from the outside at least! - very beautiful) and the room and the bathroom were ok, small but functional and clean.
no parking place available, hovewer the staff will point you to a fair parking not too far.
The centrality of the location of the hotel
The room we were placed was not worth the money we paid. The main door to our portion of the hotel was not manned by a receptionist. So when guests access the door with their code, it stays open for a while b4 it's securely closed. This may be exploited by any intruder, which may cause undue harm and scare to guests.
Food next place or near
All bed, and wifi
The aroma is like a bleach because of the pool, like old building too, the rooms are in an annex of the hotel and it doesn't have the alisean style as showed in the web site, the cleaning must improve for the rooms and the shower because it had molds, too small showers and tubs, it doesn't have any fan, and oh my GOD, it was terrible the heat inside the hotel and during the night... Just for that do not book here, and finally it was 5pm and nobody cleaned up and did the beds. Then you can book other hotel closer to the centre for the same price, even though it has a good location, it is the farest hotel within the centre and the parking lot close to there is very expensive.
Location Attention to detail
The location is in a nice, quiet neighbourhood
The WiFi connection was rather slow and irregular
Excellent location, good food, good service
The indoor swimming pool and the renovated SPA area was a great surprise for us. Someone would not expect this in Strasbourg.
Very central location, friendly staff and for the special price we paid (eur 62/ night excl. Breakfast) good value for money. Probably for this rate, I would return for location and cleanliness.
Reception closed during the night, roof with 45 degree angle takes part of the room (as such cannot stand up when taking a shower in bath room, hit your head against the roof when going to bed, etc.), wifi - while free - extremely slow. Would not consider if other options for similar prices.
Excellent location, nice room and decor, comfortable bed, very clean. Also, very nice hot tub and sauna.
Diner was good Good location Breakfast is good with local products.
Staff was really kind and breakfast was very good.
Some difficulties in finding parking for the car and the bowl in my bathroom was too high.
the plce near the center, excellent restaurant
de luxe room smaller than expected, bathroom splitted in two with the wc part in a no windowed room, terrible wi fi
clean. very close to the hospital in case of emergency.
room was 2 hrs behind in being ready. Pool and jacuzzi as advertised were not working/available--the only reason we booked this hotel. The wifi only half worked--only one person per family/room could utilize at a time. The restaurant was not open for business the night of our stay. Overall, would not stay here again. Look elsewhere closer to the cathedrale would be my advice.
- The room and the bathroom were recently refurbished (in the adjoining building). Everything was very nice and clean. Although the room was a bit small, it was very nicely decorated and quite cosy, and thoughtfully arranged (e.g., wardrobe separted from the bed by a room divider; small sitting area).
- Hotel has no parking, so it was a bit difficult and expensive to park the car in the city centre (but that's not really the hotels fault). - Pool is a joke. It was in a different building with no rooms to change. The size was about 2 x 3 m and you could see the pool from outside from the sidewalk, which is not very pleasant. In the end it made us not to use it. - Wi-Fi very slow or not working at all (in the adjoining buiding, where we stayed)
Hotel has no private parking.
Our stay was very comfortable, room was very nice. You can go by foot to almost any sight of the city.
