Le Royal Westminster  

It was a lovely hotel with a lovely room over looking the sea. Menton is a beautiful place and easy to get to Monaco by train to visit family. I felt the room looked a bit tired and needed some TLC!! The beds were very comfortable but we asked for a double room but got twin beds instead!! We mentioned this at reception and was assured the maid would be contacted to remedy this situation. This was never done! On checking out - there was no 'I hope you enjoyed your stay etc' as the receptionist was clearly stressed as people were arriving for a conference. This was a shame as its the little things that matter!! Having said that we did enjoy our stay in Menton!

Central location,excellent breakfasts,attractive garden with very useful tables & chairs in the shade & also in the sun. Very useful Carrefour City supermarket opposite, also a handy newsagent and bookshop along the street. Comfortable beds & rooms with high quality towels,which are changed regularly.The rooms were very well cleaned and maintained by Collette! All hotel staff were extremely helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly return, recommending it to other people in England.

Very comfortable rooms, lovely sea view - could lie in bed and listen to the waves on the beach. There seemed to be entertainment most evenings for those that wanted it.We enjoyed being able to sit in the gardens for breakfast and then have a gentle stroll into the livelier parts of town. As Menton is so close to Italy, Italian seems to be the main second language but I enjoyed practising my school girl French. The Receptionist spoke good English so no problems there.

The clientelle when we were there was fairly elderly which was probably the reason that the bar closed at 10.15 on the Saturday night. Had we known this we would have stayed out in the busier part of town rather later but not really a problem.

Waking up to the sound of the sea! And the view from our room was lovely- garden in front then beach and sea (there is a road between the garden and sea but it didnt bother us) Very quiet,we were totally undisturbed in our room all the time

Location- out the back door and you're in town; front faces the sea. Very nice included breakfast. The view from our 5th floor room over the city was nice...the view from rooms lower down would not be as nice. We also had the larger room which had a large bathroom too.

The localization is perfect! You cross the street and you have the beach and you can walk to the old part of village and marina where you have a lot of restaurants and nice places to visit. The outside architecture of the building and the entrance with gardens and chairs are also very pleasant, you can read a book "feeling the Riviera". In general, we liked to stay there and would choose it again as a 3 stars hotel.

The rooms are very small (it's hard to have 2 big bags to open and still have room for 2 person :o) and the bed is not very confortable, but is a 3 stars hotel so it's acceptable. The breakfast is poor and the waiters are not gentle, but you can have it outside so it becames better!

The hotel was a great base for me as the station and close by to visit other areas as well as unwinding in menton. The area was very pretty and quiet which was brillant as my day was very busy!..

First impression on entering the Hotel was very nice, however it was very short-lived when entering our room which was disappointing to say the least. The bed was in pieces, literally & staked against the wall . Also no furniture, no tv. We were moved to a marginally better room & the staff were apologetic. Although the hotel was good value I don't think I would stay there again.

La nourriture est devenu très quelconque. Les plats sont d'une qualité très médiocre . Nous avons trouvé une baisse significative du restaurant par rapport à l'année dernière.

Hôtel Belle Epoque avec jardin, emplacement impeccable en front de mer et en plein centre ville, vue superbe depuis les chambres en particulier les standing vue mer très grandes environ 30m², balcon, bien décorées (mobilier ancien de goût). Séjour du 27 octobre au 2 novembre : excellent rapport qualité prix pour les chambres

L'hôtel a deux clientèles :adhérents d'une caisse de retraite et extérieurs. Ses services sont calés sur le calendrier de séjour des adhérents de la caisse de retraite. Ainsi j' ai séjourné du jeudi 27/10 au mercredi 02/11, jour de la fermeture de l'hôtel pour tout novembre, mais le restaurant était fermé à partir du samedi 29/10, jour de départ des adhérents de la caisse de retraite. Aucune info sur cette fermeture ni sur le site Booking ni en arrivant à l'hôtel. Du coup hôtel sans aucune atmosphère à partir du samedi, plus personne au bar ni dans les salons, personnel moyennement aimable, très pressé de voir partir les derniers clients. C'est regrettable. A ce titre ne mérite pas plus de 5/10. Si l'hôtel veut être ouvert aux extérieurs, il faut les respecter aussi.
