We stayed two nights. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Located right in the heart of the old city. Perfeclty positioned for seeing all the main sights. Rooms small but cosy atmosphere and considering you´re out all day sightseeing, it worked for us. All in all would definitely recommend this hotel for a city trip.

Staff very helpful. Convenient location to most tourist areas. Very loud noises coming from another room throughout the night. Whether this was the fault of the staff was debatable, but certainly made for a less than sound nights sleep

While the room faced the front street it was extremely quiet and the bed provided a comfortable nights rest. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and were more than willing to share that knowledge. Recommendations for dining were spot on.

The hotel is in Vieux Lyon, where most hotels are quite expensive. It is well located, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was simple but well decorated and spotlessly clean. There was a double layer of windows which was effective at keeping out a lot of the street noise at night, which is unavoidable in this location. All in all, an excellent choice for a reasonable price. Some people might prefer a hotel with more trimmings and extras, but for a short weekend break, the Saint Paul was perfectly suitable.

We chose Saint-Paul because of the location in the old part of Lyon, its reasonable price and the favourable reviews online. We were not disappointed in any way. Our rooms were exactly like the pictures on their web site and the communication from initial query to booking to confiramation and arrival was excellent. Xavier speaks good English and was able to suggest things we should do and also places to eat. We wouls both recommend this hotel for those wanting an authentic Lyon experience.

Very convenient for exploring the old city of Lyon, remember this is a 13th century building not a block of modern boxes, what you see on the way to your room is what you see when sightseeing in the old city. Take the owners advice on eating places and you will have a great Lyonaise experience.

The location was excellent, especially for good restaraunts. Also close to the notre dame and roman ruins. Staff were lovely and helpful. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment. Our room was a good size and at the back of the hotel so very quiet. Shower had good pressure and was clean. Overall good for the price. Wifi was weak to non-existent in our room. Otherwise no complaints.

Good instructions about finding hotel from railway station. When I arrived they had noted my request for a light room and taken the trouble to give me one. Good information given with help of map about what to see and where recommended cafes etc were. Excellent and friendly staff. Slightly dodgy tv reception
