Hôtel Victoria  

We enjoyed walking round Calias enjoyed a glass of wine local pubs and had a meal. Disappointed no eating or drinking facilites in the hotel also no shower and coffee making. Staff extremely friendly,

Location was excellent in relation to ferry port

Ideal location if you are catching an early Ferry back to the uk.

We were on our way back to the uk and advised the hotel that we would be late arriving from Chantilly. We were told that that would be fine and to ring the bell on arrival to summon the night Duty Manager. Having got lost on the way, we eventually arrived at 00.30 hrs which was later than planned. The front door bell did not work and it took us 15 mins or so to wake up the Manager who when he opened the door was very ignorant and most unwelcoming. We apologised profusely to him (in French) and explained the circumstances. We too run a hotel in the uk and occassionally find it vexing when guests arrive late but have no issues when we are advised accordingly and as was in this instance. We would however never think of being openly unpleasant to our guests no matter what time they arrived. Throughout the checking-in time the Manager was very frosty and said nothing except to acknowledge payment. He was extremely grumpy and made us feel very unwelcomed. It's a shame that this happened. As we left early (before breakfast) the next day, we met his partner/wife? Who was very pleasant to us and cheery. We commented that it was a pity that we could not have stayed for breakfast. She had been shopping for delicious baguettes and croissants. Yum Yum. We travel regularly to France and will not be staying there again.

Clean sanitaryware and linen. Good supply of hot water. Bed reasonably comforable. Cheap and functional. Quiet location close to good restaurants. Convenient on road parking.

Poor decor and junk furniture. We had the ground floor room and the window is clearly left closed most of the time for security, so it was somewhat stuffy. Perhaps the upstairs rooms are better.

I have been using the hotel quite regularly with my family and friends and have always been entirely satisfied. Rooms are modest but clean, hotel manager friendly and keen to help if anything goes wrong (late arrivals, in my case).

Rapport qualité/prix intéressant. La chambre et la salle de bains étaient propres et l'accueil courtois. L'hôtel était très calme, pas de bruit nocturne, nous avons bien dormi. Bonne adresse pour une nuit étape.

La déco est démodée.

ruhige Lage, gute Lage zur Fähre nach Dover, gute Parkmöglichkeiten

Schwierigkeit beim Buchen, es ist eine Doppelbuchung entstanden ohne dass dies deutlich war.

Voor die prijs is het hotel best goed. Wat oubollige kamer, maar kraaknet en een ruime badkamer. Ook het ontbijt was best goed.

éQuipement trop vétuste. Les murs sont des feuilles à cigarettes. Ne mérite pas ses deux étoiles
