The outdoor hotel terrace bar and restaurant had great views. The service at dinner was excellent. It should have been made clear at booking stage that use of the private beach named after the hotel was not included. I was disappointed the hotel did not have discounted rates for guests using the beach.

The room that I stayed was really large and had a beautiful view of Promenade des Angles. Also it was really comfortable; very large and nice bed, large gardrobes. The staff were kind and helpful. The hotel was in very center of Nice, it is perfect location for travellers who wants to reach every part of city. The price was also reasonable, (I think because it was end of season.) I think it is a very good choice of hotel for every kind of travellers.(Still prices should be checked in high season.) 9.5 over 10 Outside of the rooms, corridors are alittle old. But my main displeasing thing was lack of housekeeping on 2nd day. First day of my stay they really cleaned the room well. But after they cleaned the room, I used the room and slept that night, and did not want a housekeeping again. In the morning (that day I was gone checked out at 13.00) I went out sight- seeing and came to my room a few times. I expected them to clean my room, but I think they didn't cleaned the room, because I was gone checked out. So I used the room from one morning to after day noon without cleaning. I have had to ask for shampoo for example. I think they should not avoid housekeeping, if the guest will leave on that day.

The hotel has great character. The location is great. The staff in reception were inept, if they were both in training this was not disclosed to us the guests. It was the most disorganised reception ive encountered and frustrating for me as the guest. It appeared as though everything both ladies did had to be signed off by a single gentleman which meant that the entire process was painstakingly slow. Also our bathroom which was beautifully decorated and had a wonderful power shower had issues with the shower not having a curtain therefore the entire bathroom was soaked and this was clearly leaking over time out onto the carpet in the room, bringing with it an awful smell.

The view from the window. Great air conditioning. Great location. The hotel operator/concierge had no idea how to find the telephone number for airlines. Wake up service failed to call. Instructions on getting to the beach were only for the paying beach but failed to tell us there was a free beach right across from the hotel.

The sea view from the room was absolutely beautiful. The location on the Promenade des Anglais was excellent...well within walking distance to everywhere, and lots of buses going by that would take you to Cannes, St. Paul, Monaco or wherever. The hotel boasts a belle epoque ambience, and unfortunately, it appears as though it has not been redecorated since that grand era. To call the decor 'tired' would be an apt description...to call it 'neglected' would perhaps be more accurate. The carpet in our room was badly stained, the dull grey paintwork did nothing to enhance the room. Very poor lighting and the absence of a decent desk lamp made reading impossible. The bathroom, although clean lacked essentials such as a shower screen/curtain, toilet brush, and extractor fan - thus producing sauna-like conditions whenever one used the shower. No tea/coffee making facilities in rooms, and plasterwork and floor tiles on balcony were chipped and paintwork cracked. While the entrance and dining rooms may have evoked a certain belle epoch grandeur, that is where it ended. Four star rating??? I don't think so.

Dated facility, not maintained at all. I paid 110 euros for one double and breakfast was not even included. Quality of breakfast was appalling. Ham and cured meats were gone off and the rest was really below standards. Rooms are old, carpet dirty, never again.

Location My room had been refurbished and was of a good standard. The public areas (lobby, hallways, dining area etc) are all very dated and all need refurbishment and refreshing. The water temperature in the shower fluctuated from very hot to very cold. Internet connection frustratingly slow.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel. The room was a little small but the balcony overlooking the beach made up for it. You could lie in bed and admire the view. The staff was friendly and very helpful. It was raining on our first night so we decided to eat dinner in the dining room and really enjoyed the gourmet level of the meal. Loved the fact that they had a satelite that allowed us access to 12 english channels to choose from as usually it is just one english news station. Would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel. Loved the fact that it was an older hotel with all modern ammenities.

The location- right across the street from the water was excellent and having a glass of wine on the front patio was delightful. The location was also great for walking to the old city, shopping areas, the flower market, the chateau and everything else along the Promenade. Our room was ocean side, and I was pleasantly impressed that there was no street noise at night. The room darkening electric shades helped there. The staff was lovely and we enjoyed our short stay The room was certainly an adequate size with modern fixtures in the bathroom. However, there were no plugs in the bathroom and the hairdryer was not good (old style on the wall and little power). One smallish mirror over the desk in the bedroom was inconvenient for hair/makeup. Suggestions: a full length mirror on the inside of the closet door, outlets in the bathroom, a room clock

Free upgrade to room with sea view. Free internet. Superb location opposite pebbled beach and reasonably close to old town for evening restaurant meals. Within strolling distance of main shops. Beach restaurant opposite was an attractive option for a light breakfast Downside of location is the considerable noise and fumes from the heavy traffic directly outside. Breakfast is expensive at 20Euros but there is a lesser option at 9Euros which is not well publicised.

Great location right on the promenade! The view from the room was amazing, make sure you ask for a higher floor and a balcony. Price was very high, but expected for the location. The balcony was one long balcony with separators for each room (top level) so not the most private.p

Loved the location and the fact that they gave me a sea-view room. The view was spectacular and the location of the hotel is just great. The decor is perfect as old hotel decors go and I wish I could've stayed there longer. I will visit again and stay here again !!
