The welcome was very friendly and efficient. Good English was spoken by all staff we met. The room was a good size and well equipped. Also nice and clean (non-smoking room). tea/coffee making in room. Breakfast choice was limited, what was there was nice though. There was clear notice about the local carpark closing on Saturday night until Monday morning. Try to park on the road if you will need your car on Sunday, lots of parking spaces around the area and free after 7pm on Sat and all day Sunday. I would stay here again, perfect for breaking the trip to the Eurotunnel or a weekend break in Boulogne. We were able to book for one night on a weekend night, lots of other local hotels had a 2 night minimum. Great location for visiting Boulogne, walk to pedestrian area with lots of restaurants etc and not too far to fortified town or other attractions. The room was quite hot and you couldn't have the window open with the curtains drawn over so no way to cool down at night. The noises from the other rooms transferred through the wall and floor but we had a quiet Saturday night after about 11pm. Not so noisy to keep my 4 year old awake, just voices and TV noises. Hotel looks grim from outside but is fine once in the door.

Easy to reach the old town. Staff on reception spoke excellent English and were very helpful. It's worth paying the 5 or 6 Euros for the private underground parking. The room was a little bit tired, but clean and fine for an overnight stop before getting the ferry home.

They staff made every effort to make us feel welcome and nothing was too much bother. It was a nice quiet hotel - good if you need to get kids to bed. The rooms were spacious for family rooms and were very clean. The room facilities were adequate Lovely walks around the castle and along the seafront. Parking at the hotel is not easy and you have to make sure that if you park over a weekend that availability to get your car is limited as they can lock them for the weekend

Tea making facilities in room The bedspreads were dirty The room was incredibly noisy with drilling and banging overhead during the day and noisy late arrivals Dark and dingy reception/breakfast area Beware you do not get locked out during their lunch break when they lock the door Would not recommend or stay again

Received info about how to access hotel when reception was closed well ahead of time. Rooms small but very clean. Small but newly appointed bathroom. Wi Fi worked well. Lovely breakfast. Works well as place to stay on shopping trip.

The staff was very friendly; the young man who checked us in carried our bags up to our rooms for us even though we only had one bag each. The breakfast was a great value with a good selection.

The hotel smelt clean and the room was spotless. The pillows were clean and there was plaenty of hot water- very good shower. Excellent value. We stayed with our 6 year old and we all enjoyed the experience. We slept with the window open and it was very quiet. The car park is a little distance away and difficult for non confident drivers due to narrow enterance and steep slope.

Very convenient and typical French hotel. The rooms are small but clean. There is no lift and the car park is not vey adjacent and extremely difficult to get into with a car such as a Jaguar. Very small cars would have no problem. Only breakfast is provided but is quite adequate and French. The are however may good estaurantsonly asmall few minutes distanceaway. Would be better with a lift. See above about the garage.

The hotel was easy to find and the staff were welcoming, the room was comfortable with adequate and clean facilities. We enjoyed the balcony; and that everything was easily within walking distance - the old town and the beach. Parking is not provided with the hotel.

The best thing about the hotel was its close proximity to the sites. It was within a couple of minutes walking distance of the harbour, shops, main square. The hotel staff were very friendly. Rooms were comfortable and adequate for what we needed. We did not have breakfast, but the buffet breakfast looked reasonable at a cost of 7 euros. On the whole, for the price, perfectly satisfactoryl There was no real bar as such - only a small selection of bottled beers and spirits and no wine. However in a small street opposite was a small open all hours store which sold chilled lager no chilled wine at first but after 2 nights he'd sussed us and started putting bottles of wine in the chiller. Take a corkscrew! We certainly saved a lot of money on bar drinks.

Centrally located in the main town area (not the old walled section...this is about 10 - 20 minutes walk uphill). Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms clean and comfortable, and reasonably spacious: we had a twin and a triple room. New en-suites in place: very smart and reasonably spacious showers but with a couple of problems of a leaking door on one, and poor drainage on the other. Breakfast for 7 euros is ok:only one croissant per person and then plenty cake/bread/cheese and condiments. Two types of cereal, yoghurts and a small variety of fruit.Unlimited tea and (lovely) coffee. No milk supplied for tea/coffee in rooms: perhaps we should have asked but reception not manned 24 hours. Although room was mostly very clean, the toilet seat had not been cleaned underneath for apparently some time.

“The hotel is in a good location a few minutes walk from the beach, shops and restaurants and has free parking on the streets near by. It's easy to access Wimereux by driving along the very scenic coast road from Sangatte towards Boulogne so making it only a 20 minute or so drive from leaving the Shuttle terminal. Staff are very pleasant and helpful and the room - a triple was spacious, comfortable and had a newly refurbished bathroom.” Leila, Ottershaw |
