Located in the centre of Saumur, Le Patio & Spa is a guest house set in a renovated, 18th-century coaching inn. It is just 100 metres from Saumur Castle and 1 km from the vineyard.

This hotel is set on the banks of the Loire River, in the city of Saumur. It offers a hot tub and a sauna, and guests can enjoy the panoramic view of the lake and city from the hotel's bar.
Score from 229 reviews Very good

Score from 181 reviews Superb
Character, entrance lobby with staircase and courytard. rxcellent restaurant attached. Great location.
Rooms a little warm so windows left open leading to traffic noise at night.
We know this Hotel from many previous visits. It came up to all expectations.
Location Friendliness of staff
Room overlooking the river Lovely terrace garden below the chateau ramparts Restaurant on site Gated parking (worth the extra) Beautifully restored building with many original features Walking distance of the centre for bars, restaurants etc. Wide choice of breakfast from constantly replenished buffet Very courteous, helpful and pleasant staff
Nothing really - if I had to say anything then maybe the room and en suite bathroom looked a bit tired but very clean and comfortable for the price and will be more than happy to stay again next year.
Helpful staff: splendid access to the old town: interesting menus
Location, ambience, staff, very friendly. Hotel was exquisite.
Nothing wrong at all.
The location, in a historic house close to chateau and the river. Peaceful garden beside the chateau, for breakfast if you want. Private car park, worth paying for when the car is full!
The room decor was a little tired.
Lovely room, good nights sleep, friendly staff, good choice for breakfast, hotel well positioned for restaurants and site seeing
The breakfast prunes had their stones in......ha ha
All the multilingual staff were friendly and helpful, cleanliness, breakfast which was worth the 15 Euro each, location for the view up to the Chateau and proximity to restaurant and bar area of town.
Shower over the bath was either handheld or horizontal jet to the far wall. No tea & coffee making in room. No restaurant on site but the adjacent partner restaurant was closed fo the 2 nights of our stay. Any room on the front would have suffered the loud music from across the river all day.
We regularly stay here as we travel through France. A change from standard chain hotels. Quiet bedrooms, peaceful courtyard garden for an evening drink. Excellent breakfast. Staff always very pleasant and helpful.
Hotel was easy to find - as it is located between the chateau and the river - and accessible for luggage as we had pre-arranged parking in the private courtyard for our motorcycle. Staff were very courteous and gave helpful suggestions for other restaurants in Saumur (their own restaurant was closed that evening). This allowed us to have a good walk through the old town, before a good meal (in Le Grand Bleu) and a stroll across the bridge for some nightie photos of the town and chateau. We had a 'nightcap' drink in the courtyard - with the staff again being friendly and accommodating of our limited spoken French. The room was fairly small and basic, but with a comfortable bed and the traffic noise was fine with the window open all night. Not the most 'up to date' of hotels - but all the better for that for our brief, 1 night stay.
No real issues for us to mention, but I could imagine some guests being unhappy that it didn't have a modern, high class hotel feel with more space for parking etc.- but we were happy for the cost and central location.
Proximity to Chateau, riverside setting, tranquil courtyard, period rooms and furniture. Relaxed atmosphere and helpful staff. Just a short walk to Saumur's Chateau and the old part of the city, restaurants and cafés.
All was good. I had been there before so I knew that it was worth going back.
The location was superb. Our room had a view of the chateau which is beautiful. Excellent breakfast. Room comfortable and well appointed.
Tried to ring en route as we were stuck in traffic but there was apparently a problem with the phone
Location excellent for easy access to town, chateau etc. Classic hotel. Huge room in annexe. Secure parking. Breakfast excellent with hot and cold foods - kept us going on our onward journey!
TV reception in annexe can be limited, if BBC World news and sport matters to you!
Staff very helpful, location fantastic views of Saumur Chateau, Le Menestrels restaurant in the grounds of hotel, superb
Nice place to stay to explore Saumur , free parking available, wifi, staff gave good recommendation for dinner. Hotel has very good restaurant, but needs to be booked beforehand.
The location of the hotel is beautiful, by the Loir river, and so is the garden facing the castle. Charming 18th century staircase.
However, the decoration and furniture is old and tired. We stayed there in the middle of July and the room was hot, it definitely needs some air conditioning. Not satisfied with the quality of the mattress, either.
Overlooked by the stunning Chateau the Hotel small but colourful gardens were spectacular - a real pleasure for any photographer.
Location. Staff. Breakfast. Garden.
Top floor room, no air con, too hot and stuffy to sleep, even with a fan.
Everything was lovely the views the river the town was alive with happiness
Central location on quayside and magnificent view of Chateaux from rear of hotel. Perfect for access to Chateaux and old town. Good breakfast albeit somewhat expensive.
Room linked air-conditioning so windows had to be kept open. Rooms on quayside are consequently quite noisy.
We loved the wonderful staircase and the sense of history at the hotel and Saumur itself. It was very well placed for a short walk into town. It was a lucky find for an overnight stay.
I would like to have had a better view of the chateau. Our room was at an oblique angle. We did not have breakfast as we thought that e15 each was too pricey. We also ate in town as the hotel restaurant looked too expensive.
We were in room 410 on the ground floor, off the very lovely patio area where you can view the Chateau on the hill above. The room was of good size. Staff were friendly, apart from one. The room rate was a fair price.
Our abrupt, dismissive "welcome" by one of the receptionists as we arrived on our bicycles. Breakfast was expensive at €15 each. Wifi was very slow.
We had a lovely room in the courtyard which was bright and pleasant. Large bathroom and additional sofa. Breakfast was good and staff very friendly
No air con so the room was very stuffy and we had to leave the window wide open all night which was a bit worrying as we were on the ground floor. The place where a full length mirror should have been was without one and just the frame. The shower was only covered by a curtain which was grubby and spoilt the bathroom
