The view of the Chateau The price, not worth it for what it is. Take for instance the night after we left. We got a room in a town in Brittany 1/3 bigger, with a balcony over-looking the port and free wi-fi in the room for 1/2 the price. For France, for €100 per night you would expect at least not to be charged for internet access, for €100 we didn't even get breakfast!! |

Good location and secure car parking, welcoming and friendly staff and well-appointed rooms The restaurant was over-priced, had limited choices available - especially for vegeterians - while the service, although friendly, was erratic. |

Friendly welcome, attentive staff and excellent facilities. First class restaurant. Restricted on-site parking. Roadside bedroom somewhat noisy, and slightly tired-looking. |

I liked that it was close to everything. The courtyard in the back was pretty. They are right in front of the castle. The hotel staff was very helpful. They actually get tea for you if you are downstairs in the study or in the courtyard (for 3 Euros). I've never had that before. It was nice. I felt like I was in a fancy hotel. They didn't have central air or fans in the room. I recco they put fans in all the rooms. My room was against the road so if I left my window open, I couldn't sleep, but if my window closed, I couldn't sleep because it was too hot. |

This historic building, now a hotel, located just under the chateau, is close to the center of town and shopping, yet removed enough to be quiet. Excellent facilities and very helpful staff made our stay very enjoyable. The food in the restaurant is superb with an exceptionally romantic setting. |

Great views up to the chateau and across the Loire. Lack of air-conditioning but understandable given the buildings historic status. |

Excellent location, few minutes walk from old town with restaurants, cafes, bars. Ask for courtyard room, which are quiet and face the chateau. Rooms facing Loire overlook the road, and being 200 years old the hotel has no double-glazing or air conditioning. Chateau has some two years to completion of a massive restoration programme, but is being progressively re-opened as each section is completed. Hotel staff friendly, helpful and English-speaking. Breakfast at 12 euros overpriced; better value at boulangeries and cafes in old town. |

Central to town shops,Cafes, bars, activitets, etc. comfortatble with good views of River and Chatheau .Standard better than the Stars allocated, find it difficult to fault the Hotel Anne D'anjouu apart from the item in the next box. The senior receptionist was most off hand when we were booking in at 13.05,told the room was not ready and that we should come back at 14.00 despite our booking explaining that rooms were availalable at 13.00.A poor start which left a bad start. |

The staff treat their guests like royalty - fantastic views of the Loire from our room - simply a pleasure to stay here and we would certainly return - one night in Saumur is not enough. Lovely courtyard - peace and tranquility with the Chatieau as a backdrop - magnificant |

Unique view of Saumur Chateau from the room window and from the courtyard where you can have breakfast. Delightfully quiet (if on the chateau side) and very central - just a 5 minute walk through ancient backstreets to old centre and up around the chateau for super views breakfast, although good, seemed a bit expensive on top of the room price which was quite high given size of room. |

We found the staff very helpful and considerate. On the Sunday morning the tea water was cold so the wonderful receptionist made pots of tea for us. The attitude of the staff in the restaurant although not part of the hotel just in the grounds the attitude towards us initially made a bad impression of the hotel, either take the restaurant over or get the staff trained in customer satisfaction. |

Great hotel with extremely helpful staff A slight criticism - charging extra for use of the car-park seems a little harsh given that there seems to be ample free parking around the hotel. |

A serendipitous choice, leave behind the unprepossessing street exterior, walk through into a refurbished historic building, hiding a peaceful garden overlooked by the Saumur Chateau - a different world. Excellent service, good rooms and comfort. Breakfast looked good ( we didn't take it) and Les Menestrels Restaurant is superb - a great experience dining on the lawn on a summer's night. Highly recommended and we'll go again. |

This is an exceptional hotel with staff who are absolutely wonderful and who do all in their power to ensure a great stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and its situation perfect. Saumur is a lovely town for a relaxing holiday and the Anne d'Anjou is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. |

the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had to work during the day and they were all very accommodating. No kettle in room, but not too much of an issue as you could order coffee in main lounge during the day. |
