The hotel is so non- discript I can't remember it at all except that it was rather far from the heart of things.

The hotel had an old style lift and amazing stair case - it truly felt french! Close to the train station and the beach - perfect location! The appliances were out-of-date, especially the shower. The hotel staff could have been friendlier and more helpful to new comers of Nice.

The location was good, 15 min to beach. The location is safe when compared to the places closer to the station. It was some kind of Hebrew area. Our room had a view to the park. There was refrigerator and hairdryer in our room. There were two of the receptionists that we liked. A young guy, who was very helpful and responsive and an older man, who was downloading songs on the internet for himself and afterwards singing along quietly. But it was rather funny. Near the reception there is a computer with free internet access. The little, old elevator was very cute. Beds are comfortable enough. It wasn't noisy or smth, however, everything can be heard in the corridor very well. The room and hotel itself could have been cleaner, for instance, the floors. For the most of our stay the housekeeper didn't put the plastic bag for the garbage. It also seems she took soap and shampoos and plastic glasses for herself. There was a bath, but there was no curtain, but that's rather their problem as the floor was wet. Air con is not working, so it was really hot there during the nights. Some days tv didn't have signal. One morning we even didn't have electricity in our room. Room needs refreshment. Bathroom door didn't have a door-handle from inside. In the rooms wifi is not for free. When asking about the computer near the reception, where internet is for free, it feels like you are bothering the staff to use it themselves. But the best starts with the reception. There was a woman, who was constantly speaking on the phone. It felt like I was bothering her, when asking something. When I asked simple question about public transportation tickets, she said she didn't know. Her attitude was totally indifferent, she didn't care. Mostly when you ask her something in English, she answers you in French and you understand nothing. We didn't take breakfast, and did right as I saw it was very poor. The park was a place where strange guys were gathering in the nights to play cards and drink. And two blocks away near the Notre dame there are dangerous guys, streetwalkers at night and you are lucky when get away.

The lift was not working upon arrival. The location is not so excellent, closer to the SNCF station but more than 15min walk to the beach, tram station, shopping area. The room is ok but not so clean on bed linen and bathtub. Expected bit more quality for the money.

The location. The cheef recipient was unpleasent. There were missing stuf in the room; towels and toilate paper which I asked to add but the cheef said it is not possible the stuff were there befor we arrived only after I asked if she mean that we took it and whether she wants to check our bags she add the missing stuff and appologise. Unwell maintanence of the room: Broken cabinet with nails out, mold all over the bathroom, toilate disconnected and when sitting it wobbles, the childres bed broken, the lift was stacked the first time I used it.

The Aria staff went out of their way to assist me with getting money from an atm when the one close to the hotel wouldn't accept my card, as well as to providing me with an umbrella and cushion for the beach to save me the rental costs. They were very friendly and helpful. I stayed there for 5 nights at the beginning of my trip and after going to Italy, returned for my last night. I was undecided if I wanted to stay at a hotel closer to the airport since I had such an early flight, but I am so happy I chose to repeat my stay there. Would recommend to others and would stay there again.

Good location for the train station... Just a short walk away, but best is that you are walking away from the "dodgy" loud parts around the train station... To a quieter neighborhood. As said by others, "The location is safe (and much quieter!) when compared to the places closer to the station." It is a bit of a walk to the beach - not a good place to stay if you want to go there every day... About 5 blocks north of some decent restaurants and bars - easy walk for dinner! A bit of a walk to the city center Tram, too... There are closer hotels, but they are more expensive. Tv, refrigerator, hairdryer, and most importantly, the air conditioning (climitasation) in the room all worked. I chose this hotel specifically because I needed air conditioning (hot night in nice) - and it worked great. No English or other language channels on tv... But lots of French channels. The wifi worked fine in the room and it was free, as advertised. The little, old elevator has character and it works (as long as people have not forgotten to manually close the door and it is not stuck on another floor)! Beds are comfortable enough. Got a good night's sleep! I only stayed one night, so can't comment on housekeeping. There is a bathtub, with a moveable shower head you can put up on the wall, but there was no curtain. This seems to be a standard thing in France. The good thing is the bathroom is all tile, so if it gets wet... It gets wet. After the shower, the floor was wet. The breakfast... Another thing best avoided in French hotels. Go 1 block away and there is a great neighborhood grocery store: fresh quiche (still hot), bread, yogurt, fruit juice, fruit, etc... less than 6 Euro. Why would you pay 10 Euro for bread and coffee? Plenty of cafes nearby for a coffee... The Park: "a place where strange guys gather in the nights to play cards and drink" according to one guest. I didn't see that at night, but... A few guys sleeping it off in the park the next morning. Also nice old ladies walking their dogs... So stayed on that side of the park to eat my breakfast! Lastly, the reception personnel (man at night, woman in the morning): they are French, their attidude is typically French. Once you realize customer service is not a big thing here... They were fine. Sure they were talking on the phone... "Porquoi pas?" They gave me my key at night, gave me my bill in the morning... Got done what needed to get done.

It's easy to find from the Nice Ville train station, and while some streets in Nice feels dodgy this was not one of them. The reception staff were kind and helpful. The room I stayed in had a balcony with a view to the small park right opposite the hotel, which was lovely. Room facilities are decent; hair dryer, small fridge, air con, desk and chair, telly etc. The decor was a bit shabby, but somewhat had a cute character in it.

The hotel is located in a good part of the city, close to many tourist attractions. The building is quite old and this feeling of oldness shows itself in the rooms as well. Because of that, even if the room is clean, we always thought it is dusty is some sort. But away from that, if you are looking for a place to sleep one or at most two nights in Nice, that's a good option. The blanket seemed to be really old. I suggest renewing the carpets in the rooms as well as the blankets.
