Location. Thje hotel is next to metro station Porte de Bagnolet in an area with many shops and supermarkets. Pere Lachaise is 25 minutes walk from the hotel. I am a veteran of 2 star and low budget hotels, but this is a hotel I am not going to return to. Facilities are adequate, but I have never been at a hotel where it was directly unpleasant to stay, because the the staff seemed to loathe their job and by extension the guests. They were not directly unpolite or unwilling, but their behaviour was sullen and morose. Payment was demanded the second you arrived though you had not even seen your room, which shows the distrust with which guests were viewed. One evening I could not leave the hotel for 5-10 minutes, because the portier had gone shopping and locked all the doors. Luckely there was no fire.

For the purpose of my trip I am satisfied with it. Many cheap supermarkets around. Cleanliness, comfort and staff were great. The price/value is excellent. The location is not excellent because it is far away from the city center and although the metro station is only 10 meters it is still the weakest aspect of the hotel.

I spent 3 night with my girlfriend at Hipotel Belgrand. The personal at the receptions is very kind and gentle. The room was quite small but with all the necessary furnitures. Sheets was clean and the bed had been readjusted every day. The bathroom was clean and confortable. This hotel is at the far east Paris' first zone but with metro is very simple and fast to go in every places in the city.

Close to the metro station (Porte de Bagnolet), drugstores, restaurants, markets... It has one tiny lift. Almost all the staff did not speak english and were not able to provide information for turist, for example, we wanted to rent a bike and we would like to know the procedures to rent it from Velib. The hotel employee told us that only french people could do it. We knew that it was not true and we got someone else to help us. The breakfast is not good.

We were pleased to have free wifi, the bed is comfort, many kinds of restaurants within 1 min walk, two supermarkets within stone throw distance. Great location, 1/2 min to metro station. Left baggage service is very good if you are going to have night flight.Very friendly and helpful staffs.

The hotel is situated at the Rue de Py exit of metro Porte de Bagnolet - it was quite easy and fast to reach the main attractions by metro. The location is good also thanks to two supermarkets within 15 meters of the hotel. There are also several small restaurants very close by (pizza, donner, asian, bistro...). The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean above expectations - they cleaned and made the bed every day, which was above our expectations at a 2-star hotel. There was shower gel/shampoo, clean towels every day, which again we did not expect. Also unexpected: flat screen TV, though only with French channels available (we did not need anything else). Our room was at the second floor with a view to Rue Belgrand - the traffic noise did not bother us at all (looks like they recently changed the windows: double glazing with a look in line with a classic building). Although it was really cold outside during our visit, the room was never cold: you could turn on the heating and really feel the difference within 10 minutes. Considering the prices of similar hotels in Paris, Hipotel Paris Belgrand is good value for money. The room was small, which we totally expected, but the surprise was the small staircase, small elevator, small hallway (no more than 3 square meters, I would guess), small shower cabin... The amenities could use some redecorating/refurbishing - you could tell everything was old (except for the windows and the flat screen TV), but it was also clean. For us it was somewhat in the spirit of Paris, where they don't necessarily have the newest furniture and the latest in design, yet everything looks stylish and bohemian. We thought we would have a problem with the noise from the adjacent rooms, because you could literally hear everything - the walls and floors are so thin, and the rooms so close to one another. We were lucky to have nice "neighbors" that didn't stay up all night. When you sum everything up, the comfort wasn't that great, but there was nothing to ruin our stay, and it was worth staying there for a few days. It was a good hotel especially if you're not willing to spend a lot of money for the place where you sleep and where you spend the least amount of time a day.

Great location, right on top of a Metro station so very easy access to everything. Staff were friendly and polite and the price was very reasonable (we got a twin room for 49 euros!), ideal for students or anyone travelling on a budget.

I really like this hotel:) Though it is located a little bit far from the city center, it is quite easy to be found the moment we got off from the metro station, which saved us a lot of time. The size of the room is good, and it is quite clean. The staffs in the hotel is quite nice and helpful. We had a great experience in this cozy hotel. During the night it might be quite noisy and as our room is very close to a big light outside, it's a little bothering. But for travellers coming back from a long day's trip, it is not such a big problem, as least for us.

It is cheap and the staff offers a great hospitality .In addition,it is quite clean! The most important is tha there are many shops just like grocery, bakery and supermarkets in the neighbourhood and-of course- the metro station which is very useful in paris!it is a great choise for those who want to discover the city! It was old as building and the owners should improve its appearance-if it is possible

The location is great. After you leave the metro, you can see the hotel right away. The staff are nice and helpful. They are 24hour on duty, you can find them for help whenever you want, and they didn't show any annoyance. In my case, I slept on the 1st floor. Although the windows have extra glass to prevent people outside stealing things, there still some people keep disturbing us. In the first night there is a black guy tried to pull our curtain through the gap, the the second night, there is someone tried to put stuff inside our room! I am so afraid that I never open the windows again

“Excellent combination of friendly staff and location. The staff members are all very helpful. They make you feel you are a guest in a family home. The location is superior. Easy access by Metro from anywhere in the City. A short walk to three major squares: Republique, Nation and Bastille. I will definitely stay there in my next visit, and will recommend it to all my friends.” Mahmoud, Wichita, Kansas |
