Location cannot be faulted, easy walking distance from
casino/harbour/ Festival Hall. No parking but was easy enough
to park on street which is free from 8p.M. to 8.A.m- put 2 euros in and
it automatically goes on the next morning so no need to leg it to the
meter at 8 A.M.
Price reasonable for Cannes and youre in the bit you need to be in if youre there to work in Harbour area, attend Awards etc etc.
Rooms a good size, modern, comfy bed, nice linen and towels. Useful sized desk, mini fridge.
Good flat screen TV (although my remote wouldnt turn over the channels)
Roll down shutters and secondary glazing so an atomic bomb couldnt wake you and total blackout.
Manager very helpful, faultless English, informative, welcoming.
Free wifi that worked well in my room.
Breakfast nice and fresh
Supermarket bang opposite-
Really good and reasonable restaurants literally 2 mins walk, manager recommended a few that were all excellent.
Only a few small things prevent me from saying excellent but I feel they could be addressed without affecting the profit/loss which I know small hoteliers have to be careful with.
I would certainly stay again.
My aircon unit rattled to the point that you wouldnt be able to stay in
the room with it on but I fixed it myself with a small shower gel
minature bottle, not the 1st hotel ive had to do this! Just big enough
to wedge in between casing and inspection panel to stop rattle. (Tip to
Breakfast was lovely and fresh but when you first enter the breakfast room there isnt much there at all, we almost decided not to bother but the manager appeared with a small basket of Croissants and bread, orange juice and coffee then appeared. We asked for a couple more pastries and the manager was only happy to bring them. We thought it would be better if this was already on the breakfast 'buffet' it would be faster to serve yourself and it would give a better impression, its a small point and as I said the food itself was lovely and fresh with good coffee and juice too.
A bit more soap, shower gel etc etc for the bathroom wouldve been handy, we travel continually so carting kilos of shower gel isnt an option, if there isnt much in the hotel its a bit of a pain.
Water takes a long time to heat up but it does heat up so dont give up. My shower cubicle just had a curtain around it which I hate when they touch you, maybe just me but I dont like these. My assistants room had a shower over the bath and was a huge room.
Hotel entry is off putting which is a shame because its not representative of the hotel as a whole, I understand this is shared but personally I would brighten it up and give it a good scrub.
