Wifi-connection at room 41 (priviliged room) was very weak
The staff were very helpful and the room was very comfortable for our two day visit, thank you.
Very welcoming and helpful hosts! Very comfortable room and great breakfast to start the day. Much more enjoyable staying here than being just another couple bodies passing through a big hotel! We really liked the feeling that our hosts enjoyed our company as much as they enjoyed having us as guests.
What's not to like?
Excellent location, very polite staff.
Narrow parking slot
Excellent location, helpfull staff (at least during our stay), refrigerator in the room and a supermarket across the streat.
It was early last spring that I saw that a conference I wanted to attend would be held in Cannes this year. My wife became excited and started to look for a suitible hotel. This hotel looked good so I told her to book it, we could always cancel later. A few minutes later I received a confirmation and noticed that she had by mistake selected the none refundable option. I immediately contacted the hotel, but no - they were not willing to change the booking. As I had not got permission from my employee to attend, this was rather stressful. But everything went well and I even saved some money by this mistake as it was cheaper to book with the non refundable option.
Location cannot be faulted, easy walking distance from casino/harbour/ Festival Hall. No parking but was easy enough to park on street which is free from 8p.M. to 8.A.m- put 2 euros in and it automatically goes on the next morning so no need to leg it to the meter at 8 A.M. Price reasonable for Cannes and youre in the bit you need to be in if youre there to work in Harbour area, attend Awards etc etc. Rooms a good size, modern, comfy bed, nice linen and towels. Useful sized desk, mini fridge. Good flat screen TV (although my remote wouldnt turn over the channels) Roll down shutters and secondary glazing so an atomic bomb couldnt wake you and total blackout. Manager very helpful, faultless English, informative, welcoming. Free wifi that worked well in my room. Breakfast nice and fresh Supermarket bang opposite- Really good and reasonable restaurants literally 2 mins walk, manager recommended a few that were all excellent. Only a few small things prevent me from saying excellent but I feel they could be addressed without affecting the profit/loss which I know small hoteliers have to be careful with. I would certainly stay again.
My aircon unit rattled to the point that you wouldnt be able to stay in the room with it on but I fixed it myself with a small shower gel minature bottle, not the 1st hotel ive had to do this! Just big enough to wedge in between casing and inspection panel to stop rattle. (Tip to remember!) Breakfast was lovely and fresh but when you first enter the breakfast room there isnt much there at all, we almost decided not to bother but the manager appeared with a small basket of Croissants and bread, orange juice and coffee then appeared. We asked for a couple more pastries and the manager was only happy to bring them. We thought it would be better if this was already on the breakfast 'buffet' it would be faster to serve yourself and it would give a better impression, its a small point and as I said the food itself was lovely and fresh with good coffee and juice too. A bit more soap, shower gel etc etc for the bathroom wouldve been handy, we travel continually so carting kilos of shower gel isnt an option, if there isnt much in the hotel its a bit of a pain. Water takes a long time to heat up but it does heat up so dont give up. My shower cubicle just had a curtain around it which I hate when they touch you, maybe just me but I dont like these. My assistants room had a shower over the bath and was a huge room. Hotel entry is off putting which is a shame because its not representative of the hotel as a whole, I understand this is shared but personally I would brighten it up and give it a good scrub.
Great staff and service would stay here again
Wi fi a bit slow
Really good location Friendly staff Clean
Breakfast was not worth the money - supermarket across the street was a better option to buy your own Room basic but very clean
The hotel was located in the centre of town and not far from the railway station and the beach. The staff were friendly. The room was clean and comfortable.
A very slight smell of cigarette smoke, when we first entered the room.
The hotel was great but the best part was the owners who helped us so much in the reception with tips and recommendations. They where very friendly and the location of the hotel was great for not lying exactly on the beach. Close to the railway, bus, beach and shopping!
Hotel Athenee was perfect for our in Cannes. It is located in the heart of the city and within easy walking distance of many attractions. There are two local markets across the street. Laurent and Carole were incredibly welcoming owner-hosts who have a wealth of knowledge and genuinely care about their guests. The bed was very comfortable. We were really happy with everything--highly recommend!
We arrived late, and had a small problem finding parking space, that we did not have to pay for during the nigth.
Excellent location. Very friendly owners and extremely helpful
No safe in the room. Room overlooking a patio which is closed and no view. Room cleaned but I could see some dust on the wood furniture.
Good location good value nice staff
Uncomfy bed walls thin so could hear everything in other rooms
- very kind and helpful staff! :-) - very good location (right in the centre but still quiet. Also only 5-10 mins by foot to the beach) - low price
1) The location is good. Near to main shopping street (Rue d’Antibes). 2) Few minutes to Beach. 3) There is supermarket in front of the hotel and restaurants nearby. 4) The staff and manager are extremely friendly and helpful. They provide a lot of information and guides. 5)The bed is comfortable and clean. 6) Wifi was Good 7) Breakfastcosts 10 Euros. 8) Value for money.
1) Around 15 minutes to Bus station (near to Mairie De Cannes or Sea Port). 2) I consider the shower path small. 3) No Elevator.
Location, within easy walking distance of many amenities, shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us really useful tips and information.
Some street noise, likely due to convenience of location. Some noise from other guests, which was a little frustrating.
The staff was accomodating and extremely friendly. It was almost sad we only spent one night there. Easy to walk right down to the water and plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area. The breakfast was pricey (10e) but it was nice to be able to eat before heading out to see the sights.
Dated interior. Poor shower.
Really friendly staff in a nice hotel right in the centre. Easy to get to restaurants and beach.
WiFi was really slow, but that can't be the hotel's fault.
We arrived early and were able to access our rooms almost immediately. Proprietor was helpful and friendly and gave us good advice for our stay.
This isn't 5 star luxury, but not does it claim to be, decoration/furnishings look a little tired for some tastes, though overall we were quite happy.
One of best stays on trip. Value for money and staff are sensational. Location is near perfect in terms of value for money right near Rue Antibes
Location is very good, close to Rue dAntibes. Staff is extremely kind, helpful and spoje good English. Room was clean.
Room and bathroom are on the small size, but I guess this is commom for a 3* in France. Building is very old and uncharming from outside.
Great helpful staff and excellent location in central Cannes right on Rue Antibes and 200m from beach. In terms of value for price paid can't be beaten in Cannes
Stuff Cleanliness Location
The location was good and the owners extremely friendly and helpful
I dont understand how this hotel has been rated a 3 star as I feel it is a 2 star. There is no lounge, no elevator and the room and bathroom are 70s style. The tiles in the bathroom were oldfashoned pink tiles with a half bath with no curtain . The rooms were not soundproof so one heard the neighbours talking in the niddle of the night. .I was extremely disappointed as I expected a wonderful room from the reviews I read/
