Wifi access was better than any of 5 hotels I stayed in during last week, and it was the best value.

The location is difficult for reaching the town centre: this limits one to the use of the hotel restaurant. The toilet in the room is very cramped.

The only good thing I can say about the hotel was that it was close to the Memorial and the Ferry Terminal. I didn't enjoy my stay at all and got up very early to leave. The room was dreadfully decorated and dark and the bathroom was small and dark and the shower base was stained and a horrid colour but the shower worked well. I hated the plastic matress cover under the bed sheet! I would never recommend this hotel and for the price we had stayed in a 2* in Cognac which was wonderful in comparison. I would have changed my ferry booking had it been possible so as not to have stayed at the Crocus Hotel at all!

I was after a cheap room before ferry crossing next day - no frills, just a reasonable overnight stay; this hotel provided exactly that. A very basic room, but that was all required and excellent value for money. There was free wi-fi that was easy to connect to in the dining area, but did not work in my room - not a problem to answer emails whilst having a few beers. The staff were excellent - very helpful and friendly. Easy drive to ferry port next day. I would use this hotel again for this purpose Zero complaints

Did what it needed to, an okay, cheap hotel for the night. The bathroom was so small it was laughable.

Price was the main driver, the room was tiny but that didn't matter as we were only there waiting for an early ferry. The blanket on the bed was very dirty

The price was good, the restaurant was ok. The rooms are really dark and depressive. Nothing looks clean. We pulled out a blanket from a closet and a thong fell in the middle of the bed!! That can only mean that they don't put any attention in cleaning up the rooms.

It takes us a lot of time to find the hotel. Thanks God local man helped us! He suggested us to show the way and we followed him to the hotel. I don't think we could find the hotel without his help in spite of the detailed Caen map we had. But certainly it's mainly city problem not the hotel...

The special offer through booking.com made the hotel affordable so we could spend more of our budget on food and entertainment. The main lobby and restaurant area are quite nice, although we didn't eat there. The room was small and smelled stale. The bed was very uncomfortable and gave me severe backache and a very disturbed night's sleep each night. Guests are only supplied with one pillow and towel each, which for most people is not sufficient. The bathroom is tightly packed into a small space and would be impossible to use if you are a larger person.
