Breakfast with home made jam. Friendly staff. Big beds in family room.

Walls are a bit thin but an old town house so to be expected.

Excellent privately-run hotel, friendly and welcoming. We were on motorbikes and they made garage provision for us overnight. We found the rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a good standard and plentiful. The harbour area with bars and restaurants is a short walk away, although quite a steep climb returning! Recommended!

A charming hotel at the edge of a lovely historic city. Steps away from strolling along the ramparts or having a bit to eat in one of the local eating establishments. Beds were comfortable and our "family" room worked out just fine. Breakfast was delicious.

Parking outside, proximity to town centre. Fine for a nights stay.

The entrance hall was a little cluttered and the bathroom towels rather thin.

We stayed at the Hotel De La Porte Saint-Malo on a cycling touring holiday and were made to feel very welcome and very comfortable. Secure storage was available for our bicycles, we had a very pleasant room with our own balcony. The booking was made via the internet and was one of those rare occasions when the actual hotel is even nicer than it appears from the advert. The Hotel De La Porte Saint-Malo is in an ideal position if you are visiting Dinan and we would highly recommend this hotel.

Stopped off for one night en route from Oleron to Cherbourg. Well situated very close to the interesting part of Dinan. Very attentive and friendly English speaking owners. Nice rooms and atmosphere. Strongly recommended.

Wi Fi hot spot demanded more registration information from me than I am willing to give on line. Other hotels generally just issue a password.

Location was excellent; short walk into the old city but with car parking available immediately across the street. Owner/managers were wonderful - friendly, extremely helpful and interested in all our queries. Even saved a car park for us on market day when restrictions applied. Room was simply furnished but spacious, clean and comfortable. French breakfast very good with house-made jams and yoghurt and sensational bread. Sunny courtyard garden perfect for a drink in the sun. (Try the cider made by owner's brother) Would definitely return if we should be so lucky.

Nothing not to like. Has all the comfort, facilities and services you'd expect in a hotel in this price range.

The hotel was in an ideal situation for us, wanting to look round Dinan and leaving for the early ferry from St Malo in the morning. Mine Host looked after us brilliantly both when we arrived and next day. A wonderfully welcoming fire. If we visit the area again, we will certainly book there if we can Excellent breakfast.

The water could have been hotter - fine for a shower, but lukewarm for a bath.

The location in Dinan was excellent....about a 200 m walk to the city gate. Free public parking just a few steps from the hotel. Excellent breakfast....best croissants we had in France. Helpful host.

Room had a slightly damp smell, and the wifi was a little sketchy.

The hotel had a very welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. The host was helpful but not intrusive. One felt very comfortable sitting by the fireplace or in the common area....books and games were available. The family room was cheery and comfortable for three adults...quite large bathroom. The breakfast was plentiful and very good. All in all one felt very much at home.

    Wifi was a bit difficult.

A very pleasant stay just outside the city walls so just a tiny walk and very convenient. When I first met the "manager" I was taken back by what I thought was an aloof attitude. But he turned out to be a most helpful person. I had a very nice room with a private little terrace. Someone mentioned the duvet being too warm. Yes it was but I found that true in several small hotels.

Just one small thing - in the shower stall there is no soap holder. Hard to figure out what to do with it!
