Its cheap ... that is the only plus for it. Old Furniture. Cracking Hall Ways. You can here everything people in other rooms say or do. Doors when open and close make allot of noise.

The hotel staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room and bathroom were both very clean and larger than we expected since we had heard that rooms in europe were very small. Overall we were very very happy with the hotel. Although it was not an issue at all for us, in the interest of full disclosure, I must admit that the hotel did not have air conditioning. This was the only negative about the hotel we could find and again, it was not a real issue for us since the weather was rather cool.

Value for money, location near city centre and extremely near to Metro. Clean. Comes with hair dryer. Cleaning service was good. Has an elevator. Wireless available in rooms. Did not experience any bed bugs. Television was flatscreen and had a number of channels. Shower place too small.

Great location. Just next to République. Only took me 15-20 min by foot to reach from Gare Du Nord. The street felt safe and there are some bakeries nearby. The staff was very nice and spoke both English and Spanish. I felt safe to leave my belongings in the room. The room was warm and although dated interior, well hoovered and swept. The street outside was quiet at night. Good budget option if you are just looking for a decent place to sleep. Breakfast not included although in the description the following: "a continental breakfast is served every morning in the bright dining room at Hôtel Des 3 Nations.", Would make you think so. If I should be really picky then: Mouldy smell from the bathroom curtains. Smelled of smoke in the room. Very thin walls. WiFi had complicated login and was timed. But you get what you pay for.

Pros: Hotel is in an excellent location; it's approximately a 5-minute walk to the Jacques Bonsergeant metro station, just two stops away from the Gare du Nord station. The neighbourhood appears to be safe as most of the shops (Indian and other Asian shops) in the area have closed down, so there were less people hanging out. Also, hotel appears to be clean with staff changing the towels everyday, although not the bed linens. I did not experience any bed mite bites, which is a good thing as I absolutely detest them. I love how the room has an en suite bathroom. There was also a quaint but serviceable lift. In addition, most of the front desk staff were courteous save for one, but then again it may be due to the cultural barrier as the manner he spoke English, while correct, was rude. I also requested a double bed from Booking.com since the website said I could book a single room with a double bed. When I got there, I was told that the hotel's double beds were exclusive for double rooms, but the front desk staff probably realised the inaccuracy of their advertisement in the website because he was gracious enough to give me the double bed anyway. Cons: The hotel appears to be dated and in dire need of an upgrade. The curtains, bed cover and carpet looked like they belonged in a museum. The lift and staircase smelled a bit of damp. The bathroom smelled peculiarly of vomit after use of the shower---the drain may need cleaning. The hair dryer stopped working after my second night. For backpackers: bring your own toiletries as the sachet of shampoo and body wash they provided were scanty and looked like they were bought from a Chinese bargain shop. They did not provide toothbrush and toothpaste either. Likewise, staff did not straighten my bed linens though I did make an effort to make my bed, but it could use a bit of straightening up. So so if you want to come back to an uncluttered room, make your bed before you go out. And when you do go out, you have to surrender your key to the front desk and get it back when you return to the hotel.

It was pretty good located. It is a good option for a trip to explore the city. The smell of the corridors and the elevator is very bad. It is surrounded of carpets and not very good for an allergic person.

The location was right by the Metro so that was good but the neighborhood didn't feel very safe. The bed was not really a bed. I think I could have slept on the floor and it would have been more comfortable. Really, it was comically hard and so very uncomfortable. The bathroom was small but good enough. No ac as is usual in Europe so the room was very warm on an 85 degree day. Breakfast was also not free so that was unfortunate.

The hotel was nice for the money. They neighborhood was very diverse but safe and quiet. Access to 3 metro lines stop Strasbourg Denis only a short walk. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. We told them we were students and they actually helped us with our French. I would definitely recommend to fellow travelers. Oh and stay away from guys on the street with strings!!! It's a scam! The location wasn't the best but it shouldn't deter.
