Citotel Hôtel Des Messageries  

Great location in the heart of Saintes. Parking convenient and after a very noisy hotel in Paris, our room was so quiet. Staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. We would recommend this hotel.

We received a very warm welcome from the receptionist who spoke excellent English. As we were travelling back to England from Spain via Caen we were pleased to have secure car parking. Located in the heart of a beautiful town with a superb range of shops etc. We intend to return sometime to spend a few days exploring the town and surrounding area.

This hotel has ambience! An extraordinary old building, well renovated and tucked away in in the centre of Saintes. It is, fortunately, easy to access from the main street through the town. We appreciated the secure on-site parking, which allowed us to leave most of our stuff in the car and not lug it up the stairs (which actually are pretty wide and easy to negotiate). We arrived late Sunday afternoon and received an effusive welcome from the lady on duty (who was still there well into the night), and the owners and other staff are all very friendly. A delightful surprise was that our room not only had a refrigerator, but within it were cold drinks - including beer! Just what we wanted after a long, hot drive. Messageries' location is great for walking to local sites of interest, and for shopping of all kinds. Breakfast is good quality and plentiful. We stayed an extra night and could easily have stayed longer.

Excellent location right in the middle of the old town and very helpful staff who gave useful information about sights and restaurants. Hotel was exactly as described on website. Breakfast was good.

Very Good Location in Old Town near to the river. Has its own lock up undercover parking.

No aircon in bedrooms but the price would have to go up if this were fitted.

The Hotel itself had been very tastefully modernised and had been most sympathetically done. Modern facilities but with an historic flavour as fitted this town and its surroundings. Perfect. Could not fault hotel, staff or facilities.

As with many Spanish hotels, no food available unti l2100 hours. If you are travelling through as we were, an evening meal served from 1900 is better. Most surrounding restaurants served from 2000 so no luck there either. Minor frustration but a common one.

Tres joli decor a l'accueil comme pour les etages. Garage pour voiture impeccable et salle des petits dej tres conviviale.

Le seul point negatif absence d' ascenseur

La décoration de l'hôtel est originale et très sympathique. Les chambres sont très bien équipées, propres, très confortables et joliment décorées. L'hôtel est très bien situé dans la vieille ville de Saintes, plein de petites boutiques très sympa à proximité et quartier très agréable pour se ballader à pied. Hôtel situé dans une petite rue très calme. J'ai adoré les petits ours en guimauve au petit déjeuner.

La chambre non rénovée (dont très vétuste) attribuée à toutes tes résas Booking "dixit l'accueil'; le refus du gérant de transformer ma résa en soirée étape (moyennant surcoût bien entendu) puis son acceptation mais en me faisant paye plus cher que le menu du restaurant!!!!!!
