Hôtel Des Mines

We live in the south of France and visit Paris several times a year. We always stay at an hotel near the Latin Quarter for preference and have therefore stayed at many 2 to 3 star hotels in the area. The room at The Hotel des Mines was very clean,bathroom excellent,its in a covenient location for local shopping,the river,restaurants,jazz clubs,museums and monuments and the metro is less than 5 minutes walk away for further locations.

The cleanliness was excellent, and the in-room facilities were comfortable, if cramped as usual in Paris. The assistance of the front desk staff was effective, if not particularly welcoming or friendly. The location with respect to Saint Germaine des Pres and many of the high points of Paris was appropriate for the room rate.

Excellent location near the Jardin de Luxembourg, <5 min walk to either of 2 metros. Breakfast was E9 extra, but a pretty good value. Room was clean, maid service was good; bed was comfortable, extra pillows and blanket available.

Room was small, but sufficient.

The hotel was right near major transport routes and so everything was easily accessible from here.

What one would expect from a 2 star hotel in Paris ... quite cramped (especially in the bathroom).

The Location was very central to most tourist spots.

The lift was pretty slow, but it's an old place, what should you expect?

Each time when subway trains go by, you can clearly hear the vibration.

Excellent value for the money. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Location was excellent for walking, with easy access to the Metro. Staff for the most part was friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a large room, or luxury, pay more and stay elsewhere, but if you want an inexpensive place from which to explore the wonders of Paris, I would recommend this hotel.

good price for hotel in good area,close to metro and within walking distance of lots of attractions,close to good restaurants in the Latin Quater.

The staff, especially at night, was very nice and helpful. Also the prive was ok.

The bed is very small, the tv works bad. But the most important that the cleaning woman threw out some of our personal things, like razor and tooth brush.

The hotel is in a good location, near a lovely park and a stop for the subway. The staff spoke English and were friendly and helpful. There is free WiFi in the rooms. It was a good value for a safe, clean place to stay in Paris.
