The position of the hotel was excellent for visiting many of the sites of the region. We ate at the restaurant twice (evening) and found the food good and substantial. The staff were welcoming and pleasant.
It was the location and the fact the Hotel looked original that was our reason for booking there .
My shower was very small and hot water was very slow coming.
Great location just below the Chateau and across the street from river access. Nice to sit and watch the river. Parking is available across the street for 4 euros per day. Might be hard to find a spot midday, but it clears out in the evening.
Staff has a bit of an attitude. Did not try the restaurant. No hair dryer. Water temps in shower changed wildly, but was usable. Hard to keep water from getting on the floor. WiFi access limited to cashier area.
it was clean
- poor reception welcome - filthy reception area gave impression rooms would be as filthy - restaurant has many bad revews, so we ate elswhere - starting in 1995, we have stayed at this hotel 8 times - it has never been as good a hotel as when Philippe and Patricia le Rouilly were in charge (until 2002 or 2003)
This was a relatively inexpensive hotel, in a fantastic location. Initially we were a bit disappointed to get a room with no view of the Dordogne or chateau, but in the end we were very pleased with it. We had patio doors opening onto a terrace which contained skylights into the hotel's kitchen, and we could hear the staff as they prepared the food - but we found this charming. And obviously they weren't working during the night, so our room was beautifully quiet - probably more so than the rooms overlooking the river (and thereby also the road). Standard of room and bathroom was relatively simple, but more than adequate, and very comfortable.
location is beautiful, staff is friendly
The facility is a bit worn
The manager was very welcoming, and the apartment is right by the pool which was never crowded
The second bed wasn't made up on arrival and didn't get done until late evening. The stove does not work fully and the apartment is not modern. However the biggest problem is the noise. Although it is a quiet village we slept very badly due to refuse collection lorries and delivery lorries right outside our window in the middle of the night. The flat faces to the front and there is a lot of noise from the nearby main road. Sleep quality was very bad. The windows had to be open as it was very hot and there is no airconditioning.
Excellent location by the river. Within walking distance of the chateau, beautiful but a bit steep but also available to drive to. Magical village, with boat trips along the river, an excellent tourist office, and everyone friendly. Excellent value for money
We didn't dislike anything at all.
Brilliant location.Very attentive staff. Good food. Had lovely air conditioned room with terrace over looking the river
Location Situated just across road from river with the hotels bar and restaurant across road Very good value Clean but rooms alittle tired Easy car parking
Noisey until day trippers left
The location was fantastic right in the center of the small town. The owner was very helpful.
The Rooms were poorly furnished and outdated. The breakfast buffet was bare minimum. The hotel is old and dirty and needs a good cleaning and update.
Secluded swimming pool.
Unexpected traffic noise throughout night. Bad night's sleep as heat meant windows had to be open to noise.
A very well-run and incredibly friendly family-managed hotel, bar and restaurant. The location had beautiful views of the river and chateau and felt quiet and secluded.
I didn't really notice any negatives.
The location to many chateaus and the river was wonderful. We did a number of day trips in the area; chateu des Baux de Provence, Beynac et Cazenac and Les jardins de Marqueyssac and the Cro magnum caves.
We were placed in a corner room above the front door, very small and cramped even by French style. Only a bed and one plastic night table. Extremely uncomfortable and inconvenient. When we saw the rooms of our other travelers for the same price we were rather disturbed.
Evening street noise
best location in the village
The location was amazing staff very helpful. Room small but value for money. Great wifi
The location was great and parking was easy. Good restaurants nearby on and onsite.
Wifi was only available in the very small lobby. There were 2 chairs in which to sit and use Wifi. There was a a larger lounge area next to the lobby, but wifi was not available there. It would have been nice to sit with coffee or wine there.
Lovely village,hotel in centre
On busy road with large lorries thundering past
The location is excellent! Staff hard-working and always aim to please. The owners, Olivier and Isabelle, make you feel at home from the time you arrive. Very comfortable bed, large bathroom. Wonderful terrace by the river, good food at restaurant at reasonable prices. Would return anytime.
On two days the room was not made up.
great location, helpful staff
wifi only in the lobby, poor lighting in room, narrow halls, rooms sparse
Location, friendly staff and atmosphere, dinner
Room very basic and hot
