The Hôtel du Vieux Marché is a 3-star hotel situated in the historic area of central Rouen, 800 metres from the Rouen Cathedral. Guests are invited to relax in the hotel's cocktail lounge. A flat-screen TV with satellite channels is included in each of the elegant rooms. All rooms have private bathrooms, and some feature iPod docking stations. This hotel is conveniently located right in the heart of Rouen's old market square...easy walk to everything. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices and there are many restaurants nearby. The staff is delightful...very friendly and helpful. It was not a big issue, but be aware that parking is tight and a larger size car will not have a lot of room.

The location. The room - apparently the best in the hotel - was small with very cheap furniture. It was exceptionally hot without air conditioning and the fridge was hardly cold at all. I would have expected something more classy for over 200 euros per night including a couple of (very expensive) drinks at the bar but no breakfast.

The location was really it's only saving grace. We had 2 rooms between us and our adult children. Our room had no shower curtain/fixture and in their room the shower fixture would not stay on the wall. When we asked to be moved to another room, the smell of B.O. In the new room was so bad that we immediately asked to be moved back.we were glad to move on . . .

It was well located and had some on site parking. Fairly standard business hotel Breakfast was extra, the rooms were very dark and you could smell smoke from the other rooms.

The hotel staff couldn't have been nicer, especially the night time staff. The room had a flat screen tv, coffe and tea making facilities, iPod dock, shower and bath. The location is perfect, very close to restaurants and the main shopping area I paid for a comfort double room for 4 nights, but our room was the smallest room on our floor so I really wouldn't like to see how small the standard double room is. Also, is wasn't a great hotel for relaxing and getting good rest in the mornings. Our room looked out over the courtyard, and no ac meant we had to sleep with our windows open so were woken very early with noise. The cleaners start very early and they banged doors, and don't really respect the 'do not disturb' signs. We did a lot of activities and day trips during the day and really wanted a good sleep but it would be disrupted from 7.30 onwards and this really affected our stay.

Very convenient for Rouen old city. Good parking. Comfortable beds Bath water plug (room 104) didn't work. Shower was not fully adjustable; Breakfast was good but had to ask fior one or two items - staff were not as fully attentive as they should have been.

It's central location makes it ideal for shopping, sight seeing or a weekend city break. Staff were helpful and friendly. Finding the hotel by car could be difficult without a Sat Nav. The parking is limited and can be difficult when hotel is busy. The room is a bit on the small side but otherwise comfortable.

Not a lot, except parking was handy at 8Euros a night. The room we were given was dark, small and old! More suitable for a single person rather than a couple, very disappointed, but stayed as we were only there overnight.
